On a dark, windy night, it was the perfect time to kill!

"Who's there!" the two masked shinobi guarding the base entrance barked warily.

When they saw it was a child, they were puzzled, but they didn't let down their guard. In the shinobi world, danger lurked everywhere. But the moment their eyes met those scarlet eyes, their gazes went unfocused.

The Mangekyō Sharingan in Obito's eyes glowed a bewitching red. He grabbed one man by the neck and lifted him up, asking coldly, "Where's Danzo?"

"Lord Danzo is inside," the Root shinobi replied woodenly.

Obito struck both men on the necks. Their bodies went limp, and they fell to the ground with two thuds.

There weren't many guards inside Root's base. As Konoha's most mysterious and darkest organization, Root was feared even by Konoha's own shinobi. Who would dare break into its headquarters?

After using his Sharingan to control several guards along the way, Obito found the place where Danzo was resting: a room in an old-fashioned Japanese style.

Inside, Danzo was reviewing documents. As Root's leader, he had to deal with reports sent back by the spies Root had stationed in various countries, as well as a heavy load of administrative work.

Suddenly, the candlelight on the desk began to flicker. Danzo put down the document in his hand and narrowed his eyes at the door.

With a thud, the guard by the entrance collapsed helplessly under the genjutsu of Obito's Sharingan.

"Are you still not coming out?" Obito called from outside.

"A child?" Danzo's eyes narrowed. The image of Obito Uchiha immediately came to mind. Years of experience as a shinobi had taught him never to underestimate anyone—especially a child who had broken into Root's headquarters and made it this far!

"Wind Release: Vacuum Blast!"

Danzo had already judged Obito's location from the sound of his voice. He immediately launched an attack with the Wind Release he excelled at. The old bastard really didn't play fair!

Danzo's mouth fired bullets of compressed air like a machine gun, one after another.

"Papapapapa!" The wooden doors and windows were smashed to pieces in an instant, and the two finally faced each other through the wreckage!

Outside, a monster wreathed in blazing azure chakra flames stood in the courtyard.

Susanoo slowly drew its samurai sword. At last, the enormous flaming blade appeared before the world.

This was Obito's first time using Ryujin Jakka. Its terrifying heat erupted into a pillar of fire that shot up into the heavens! It pierced the sky and scorched everything in its path, lighting up Konoha's dark night!

The entire village saw the towering pillar of fire! Shock, confusion, fear—every kind of emotion filled the hearts of Konoha's people!

Danzo's courtyard had been reduced to nothing. The ground above the underground base had vanished, leaving it looking as if it were at the bottom of a crater.

"What kind of power is this? Susanoo shouldn't be this strong!" Danzo burrowed underground to escape the scorching heat, but he could still feel the moisture in his body slowly evaporating! His enemy hadn't even attacked yet. If this went on much longer, he'd be roasted into a dried husk!

The Third Hokage urgently summoned the Anbu and every jōnin still in the village! When they rushed near Root's base, the heat there was already scorching. Could there be a volcano under Root's headquarters?

"Danzo! Planning to hide like a coward? So this is the leader of Root? And you still want to be Hokage? You even thought you could kill me? What a joke!" Obito shouted.

"Find Tsunade at once. Tell her Obito Uchiha attacked Root's headquarters, and Danzo's fate is unknown," the Third Hokage ordered an Anbu shinobi.

Obito controlled Susanoo as it spread its wings and flew upward, then hovered in midair. He shouted, "Third Hokage! What did I do wrong? Why did you send people to assassinate me? Was it simply because my name is Uchiha?"
