Background / History

Ling Qing awakens as a Druid after a dream in which he experiences plants, predators, mythical beasts, elemental upheaval, and summoned beings. These visions condense into a seed, beast claw, four-colored gem, and crystal sphere, which merge into a clear acorn and enter his chest. On waking, he experiences an unprecedented clarity and awareness of his surroundings 2.

He initially tests the inheritance cautiously. The information panel proves to be a representation produced by the Heart of the Druid, combining inherited knowledge with his own information and understanding—not an external screen obstructing his sight 3.

His first practical cultivation involves sensing and balancing plants’ needs beside a canal. He chooses the Book of Nature, learns spells, and later crafts a physical Spellbook using materials from a hundred-year-old tree 4 5 8 9.

The Druid inheritance subsequently becomes one component of a broader Daoist cultivation system. Ling Qing uses the Spirit Talisman Mysterious Altar to integrate it with the Xiantian Primordial Qi Scripture and Spirit Restraint and Transformation Method. The Druid path forms the altar’s Lower Altar 90 101 373.

Origin and Hidden Risks

The inheritance is not wholly independent of higher beings. Zhu Guang’s concerns lead to discussion of an existence that has occupied the Druid concept and controls later practitioners’ access to nature 689.

After Ling Qing’s master kills Lirriss—the Druid class guardian identified by Olidammara—Ling Qing receives the complete class information and concludes that the inheritance no longer contains hidden backdoors. Nevertheless, he recognizes that continuing to use its information still provides a form of existence to the beings from whom the class seed originated 1076.

Silvanus later states that the nature gods created the Druid class seed using Ao’s power as its foundation. He regards Ling Qing’s achievements as developments that exceed the seed’s original capabilities 1123.

Personality

Ling Qing approaches his powers experimentally rather than accepting every inherited rule without question. Early on, he repeatedly tests the information panel and weighs his Spellbook choices against practical concerns, including surveillance cameras and the uncertainty of summoned creatures 3 5.

His relationship with nature is neither indiscriminately protective nor destructive. He abandons slaughtering market animals for experience after sensing their fear, but accepts changing ecosystems when doing so serves his cultivation or other purposes. His stated principle is to follow nature while taking and using what he needs, without maliciously destroying its laws 7 144.

As a Nature Seeker, he increasingly prioritizes understanding over merely receiving power. His work includes analyzing natural knowledge, deriving talismans, refining artifacts, and investigating fields far beyond conventional plant magic 308.
