Killing an Elite Jonin Is as Easy as Chopping Vegetables

"Sharingan?"

Everyone was stunned when they saw the Sharingan in Shin's eyes. Even Uzumaki Hikari was shocked.

What shocked Hikari wasn't that Shin had the Sharingan, but that it was the Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

"Shin, why do you have the Sharingan?" Tsunade asked in shock.

Shin scratched his head, then said, "It's not something I can explain in a few words. Let's deal with these guys first."

"Kushina, Mikoto, you two stay back," Shin told them.

Even the weakest enemy was a Jonin. Kushina and Mikoto couldn't help at all.

Seeing Shin's serious expression, Mikoto and Kushina nodded and retreated.

"Uzumaki Hikari, let me send you away from this painful world. No need to thank me—we're clanmates, after all."

Shin stared at Hikari as the Three-Tomoe Sharingan spun rapidly.

"Don't look into his eyes! Watch out for Sharingan Genjutsu!" Dan Katō shouted.

But Shin didn't use Genjutsu. The three black tomoe connected, and the Mangekyō Sharingan awakened.

"Yomotsu Hirasaka!"

A pitch-black portal opened in front of Shin. Well, calling it a portal was generous; it looked more like a black hole.

Shin then drew the Kusanagi Sword and thrust it into the portal.

Pfft~

Uzumaki Hikari stared at the blade that had pierced his heart from behind. The light in his eyes began to fade, and a trace of unwillingness appeared on his face.

Shin pulled the Kusanagi Sword out of the portal. Hikari, standing opposite him, fell to the ground, another pitch-black portal behind him.

Yomotsu Hirasaka had opened a passage from the space in front of Shin to a point behind Uzumaki Hikari.

The Kusanagi Sword Shin thrust into the portal had emerged from the one behind Hikari, piercing his heart.

Yomotsu Hirasaka wasn't just useful for dodging attacks and escaping. It was even better for offense and surprise attacks.

Seeing Hikari killed instantly left Dan Katō horrified. The other four Root members immediately watched Shin warily.

"What kind of dojutsu is that?"

Dan Katō sensed that things were going badly. They had only been concerned about Tsunade, but who could have guessed that this kid would be so powerful?

"Mangekyō Sharingan?"

Tsunade was even more shocked than she'd been when she learned Shin had the Sharingan. The Sharingan wasn't uncommon, since the Uchiha hadn't been wiped out yet, but the Mangekyō Sharingan was rare. The only person Tsunade knew to possess it was Uchiha Madara.

"Looks like it worked pretty well." Shin flicked the Kusanagi Sword, sending the blood flying from its blade. Not a drop remained.

"Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique."

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough."

One of the Root's Elite Jonin unleashed the Great Dragon Fire Technique. The flames took the shape of a dragon and rushed toward Shin.

The shinobi standing beside him immediately used Wind Release. The wind fed the flames, making them even more powerful.

Tsunade's expression turned grave. Even she'd be in danger if she were hit. After all, most ninja had fragile bodies, except for those who specialized in Taijutsu.

Tsunade was good at Taijutsu, but that was thanks to her Strength of a Hundred technique. Without it, her Taijutsu was only average. She was actually a medical ninja.

Faced with an attack like that, even Tsunade had to dodge.

After retreating, Tsunade saw Shin standing completely still, as though he'd been scared stiff. She immediately panicked.

"Shin, what are you doing? Get out of the way!"

Tsunade tried to rush over and save him, but it was already too late. The fire dragon was almost upon Shin.

"Your teamwork is great. Why don't you try experiencing the power of your own technique?"

Shin used Yomotsu Hirasaka again. A pitch-black portal appeared in front of him, and the incoming fire dragon crashed into it and vanished.

Another black portal opened above Dan Katō and the others. The fire dragon surged out and attacked them.

The distance was too short, and they weren't prepared. Two died and three were injured. Dan Katō was lucky enough to survive, but he suffered extensive burns. His hair had been burned off, and his face was disfigured.

"Impressive power. It was originally a B-rank technique, but with the boost from Wind Release, it's probably on par with an A-rank technique."

Shin observed the destruction caused by the fire dragon and offered his assessment.

Thump!

Tsunade rapped Shin on the head with her fist and glared at him.

"Were you trying to scare me to death?"

Still furious, Tsunade raised her hand to hit him again, but Shin quickly dodged.

"But I'm fine, aren't I?"

"Shin!"

Kushina suddenly threw herself at him, tears in her eyes as she hugged him. Tsunade hadn't been the only one terrified; Kushina had been scared out of her wits too.

"Shin, are you all right?" Mikoto hurriedly checked him over to see if he was hurt.

"I'm fine. I haven't even lost a single hair. Tsunade, hurry up and attack—they're trying to escape."

Shin warned Tsunade. The surviving Dan Katō and two other Elite Jonin were trying to flee.

The two who had died, including Uzumaki Hikari, had been Jonin. Dan Katō and the other two were Elite Jonin, with the experience to survive the sudden attack.

But perhaps realizing they weren't a match for him, Dan Katō and the other two Root Elite Jonin were now making a run for it.

Tsunade looked toward the three men, her pretty face full of fury. Think they could escape? Not a chance.

If Shin hadn't been so strong, they might have been the ones to die.

Tsunade couldn't defeat three Elite Jonin, let alone three Elite Jonin backed by three regular Jonin.

In fact, three Elite Jonin working together would be enough to surround and kill Tsunade as she was now. She hadn't truly come into her own yet.

And if Dan Katō hadn't been exposed, he could have launched a sneak attack first and killed Tsunade for sure, leaving her no chance to survive.

Danzo had already shown Tsunade considerable respect by sending such a force.

But Danzo couldn't have anticipated Shin's strength. Perhaps he hadn't even considered Shin, Kushina, and Mikoto a threat, and that was why he'd suffered such a loss.

Tsunade charged forward and blocked one fleeing Elite Jonin. Dan Katō and the other fleeing Elite Jonin ran in opposite directions, and Tsunade couldn't stop them both.

Shin looked at the other two and realized he had to act, or they'd get away.

Shin instantly entered the portal and appeared behind one of the fleeing Elite Jonin. His blade flashed like an illusion, and the man learned exactly what it meant to be split apart.

"Ah!"

Kushina screamed. Shin had made a bloody mess.

Since Kushina had been hugging Shin, she'd come along with him.

Shin looked at the man's corpse and the blood pooling on the ground. It really was a bit gruesome.

He hadn't meant to make such a mess, but it was his first time cutting someone down, and he hadn't controlled his strength. The Kusanagi Sword was also too sharp, which was how things had ended up this way.

But the man had been an Elite Jonin, and Shin had cut him down just like that. It felt as easy as chopping vegetables.

With space-time ninjutsu and Shin's lightning-fast swordsmanship, killing people was just that unreasonable. Especially when he was overwhelming weaker opponents—it was practically a massacre.
