"Sharingan?"
Gazing at the Three-Tomoe Sharingan in Shin's eyes, everyone was stunned, including Uzumaki Hikari.
What shocked Uzumaki Hikari was not that Shin possessed a Sharingan, but that it was a Three-Tomoe Sharingan.
"Shin, why do you have a Sharingan?" Tsunade asked in shock.
Shin scratched his hair and said, "This isn't something that can be explained in a sentence or two. Let's deal with these guys first."
"Kushina, Mikoto, you two stay back." Shin said to them.
The weakest of the enemies were Elite Jonin; Kushina and Mikoto could not help at all.
Seeing the serious expression on Shin's face, Mikoto and Kushina nodded and retreated.
"Uzumaki Hikari, let me send you away from this world full of pain. Don't thank me; after all, we are of the same clan."
Shin stared at Uzumaki Hikari, his Three-Tomoe Sharingan spinning rapidly.
"Don't look into his eyes, watch out for Sharingan genjutsu!" Dan Katō shouted.
However, Shin did not use genjutsu; the three pitch-black tomoe merged into one, and the Mangekyou Sharingan was activated.
"Yomotsu Hirasaka!"
A pitch-black spatial gate opened in front of Shin—well, calling it a gate, it actually looked like a deep, dark hole.
Shin then drew his Kusanagi Sword and thrust it into the spatial gate.
Puff~
Uzumaki Hikari stared at the blade piercing through his heart from behind, the light in his pupils beginning to fade, his face etched with unwillingness.
Shin pulled the Kusanagi Sword out of the spatial gate. Uzumaki Hikari, standing opposite him, collapsed, while a pitch-black spatial gate remained behind him as well.
Yomotsu Hirasaka had opened a spatial passage from in front of Shin to behind Uzumaki Hikari.
The Kusanagi Sword Shin thrust out emerged from the spatial gate behind Uzumaki Hikari, piercing his heart.
The Yomotsu Hirasaka technique was not only for dodging attacks and escaping; it was even more effective for offense and sneak attacks.
Uzumaki Hikari was killed in an instant, leaving Dan Katō horrified, while the other four members of Root watched Shin with immediate vigilance.
"What kind of ocular technique is that?"
Dan Katō felt a sense of foreboding. Originally, they had only considered Tsunade a threat, but who would have thought this brat was so powerful.
"Mangekyou Sharingan?"
Tsunade was even more shocked, more so than when she learned Shin had a Sharingan. The Sharingan was not rare—after all, the Uchiha clan had not been wiped out yet—but the Mangekyou Sharingan was rare; the only person Tsunade knew who possessed it was Uchiha Madara.
"Seems the effect is quite good." Shin gave the Kusanagi Sword a light flick, shedding the blood from the blade until not a drop remained.
"Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"
"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"
One of the Elite Jonin from Root unleashed the Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique, the flames condensing into the shape of a dragon as it struck toward Shin.
The ninja standing next to him immediately used Wind Release; with the wind fueling the fire, the power increased significantly.
Tsunade's eyes held a hint of caution; even if she were hit, her life would be in danger. After all, the bodies of ninjas, aside from those specialized in taijutsu, were relatively fragile.
Although Tsunade's taijutsu was formidable, it relied on her Strength of a Hundred; without it, her taijutsu was only average. Tsunade was, in fact, a medical ninja.
Facing such an attack, even Tsunade would have to dodge.
After Tsunade retreated, she saw Shin standing there motionless, as if he had been scared silly, and she grew anxious.
"Shin, what are you doing? Dodge!"
Tsunade wanted to rush over to save Shin, but it was too late; the fire dragon was already closing in on him.
"Your coordination is quite good. Let yourselves taste the power of this jutsu."
Shin used Yomotsu Hirasaka again. A pitch-black spatial gate appeared in front of him, and the incoming fire dragon crashed into it and vanished.
Moments later, another pitch-black spatial gate opened above Dan Katō and his men, and the fire dragon ferociously attacked them.
The distance was too close, and with no precautions taken, two died and three were injured instantly. Dan Katō was lucky enough to survive, but he suffered extensive burns, his hair was scorched away, and his face was disfigured.
"The power is truly strong. Originally a B-rank jutsu, with the boost from the Wind Release, its power should rival an A-rank jutsu."
Shin watched the destruction caused by the fire dragon and commented critically.
Bang!
Tsunade's fist knocked against Shin's head, and she glared at him fiercely.
"Are you trying to scare me to death, you brat?"
Tsunade was still not satisfied and angrily tried to strike him again, but Shin dodged it swiftly.
"Didn't I tell you I'm fine?"
"Shin~!"
Kushina suddenly lunged at Shin, hugging him with tears in her eyes; not only had Tsunade been terrified just now, but Kushina had been as well.
"Shin, are you alright?" Mikoto hurriedly checked Shin up and down to see if he had sustained any injuries.
"I'm fine, not even a single hair is missing. Tsunade, hurry up and attack, they're trying to run."
Shin reminded Tsunade, as the surviving Dan Katō and the other two Elite Jonin were attempting to flee.
The two who died earlier, including Uzumaki Hikari, were Jonin, while these two and Dan Katō were Elite Jonin; they were experienced enough to survive that sudden attack.
However, perhaps realizing they were outmatched, Dan Katō and the other two Elite Jonin from Root were now making a run for it.
Tsunade cast her gaze toward those three fellows, her pretty face cold with fury. Want to run? It's not that easy.
If Shin's strength hadn't been sufficient, it might have been them who ended up dead.
Tsunade herself could not defeat three Elite Jonin combined with three Jonin.
In fact, three Elite Jonin working together would be enough to surround and kill the current Tsunade, as she had not yet truly come into her own.
Furthermore, if Dan Katō hadn't been exposed, he could have launched a sneak attack, which would have surely killed Tsunade without giving her any chance of survival.
For Danzo to deploy such a lineup, he was already taking Tsunade quite seriously.
But Shin's strength was something Danzo could never have anticipated; Danzo likely hadn't even considered Shin, Kushina, or Mikoto a threat, and that was why he had failed this time.
Three Elite Jonin and three Jonin—Danzo had suffered a massive loss, especially with Dan Katō, who was likely one of Danzo's hidden pieces.
Tsunade rushed forward to intercept one of the fleeing Elite Jonin, but since Dan Katō and the other Elite Jonin were running in different directions, Tsunade had no way to stop them all.
"Three Elite Jonin running away like stray dogs—how embarrassing."
Shin watched the other two and knew he had to act, or they would surely get away.
Yomotsu Hirasaka!
Shin instantly stepped into the space portal and appeared directly behind one of the fleeing Elite Jonin. A blade of light flashed like a phantom, showing the opponent exactly what it meant to be torn apart.
"Ah!"
Kushina shrieked; Shin had made things a bit too bloody.
Because Kushina had been hugging Shin, she had followed him through the portal.
Shin looked at the corpse, blood pooling on the ground; it was indeed quite gruesome.
In truth, Shin hadn't intended to make such a mess, but since this was his first time killing someone, he hadn't controlled his strength well, and combined with the extreme sharpness of the Kusanagi Sword, it had ended up like this.
Still, this was an Elite Jonin, and he had been cut down just like that; it felt as simple as chopping vegetables.
With space ninjutsu and Shin's lightning-fast swordsmanship, killing was simply unreasonable—especially when bullying the weak, it was nothing short of a slaughter.
