Two months earlier, Iwagakure had launched a long-planned surprise attack on the Land of Rice Fields.

Their target had been clear: the Uchiha clan.

They had evidently sought revenge for Roshi's death.

The raid had come without warning.

All seventeen members of the Uchiha clan had been buried deep beneath the earth and rock strata by the enemy's combined Earth Release ninjutsu.

They had been wiped out!

Uchiha Hisui, Uchiha Shisui...

Not one had survived.

All of them had been buried deep within the rock layers, and even their bodies had not been found.

Ebisu clenched his fist and slammed it heavily into the ground.

The senbon in Genma's mouth was nearly bitten in half, his expression equally grim.

Their months at Outpost Eight, their life-and-death battle with Roshi, and later, Fugaku Uchiha's care for them in the Land of Rivers, had left them with a favorable impression of the Uchiha clan.

Shisui in particular, gentle and friendly as he was, had gotten along well with them and left a deep impression.

They had not expected that, after less than a year apart, the next news they received would be of his death!

"Those Iwagakure bastards!"

Ebisu ground his teeth, his eyes blazing with rage.

Guy's heart was equally heavy, and an intense shock and disbelief welled up within him.

"Shisui... is dead?"

"No! Not necessarily! Could it be..."

His expression gradually darkened.

Hisui's death might not have been too surprising.

But why would Shisui die at this point?
