"It's fine. I'll just watch you guys fight. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to the Saiyans. Besides, I want you to bask in my awesomeness," Wei Dong said solemnly.
Son Goku gave an awkward smile and joined the fight. Facing Nappa, Goku looked completely relaxed. After all, Son Goku's power level was already a little over ten thousand.
Vegeta, standing off to the side, kept staring at Wei Dong in disbelief. His Scouter had blown up, and he knew exactly what that meant.
Wei Dong hadn't wanted this to happen. He simply wasn't very familiar with ki and couldn't control its intensity. Even though his power level was 100,000, he couldn't bring out his full strength without knowing how to control his ki properly. In short, he lacked combat experience and didn't know how to use his ki effectively.
Nappa was no match for Son Goku. At most, Nappa could reach a power level of 7,000. But that raised a question: in the original story, Nappa's stated power level was only a little over 4,000.
When Vegeta saw that Nappa was no match for Son Goku, he ordered him to come back and decided to fight himself. But as Nappa flew back, he headed straight for Son Gohan. Goku sensed something was wrong and immediately activated Kaio-ken, rushing toward Nappa.
After Goku killed Nappa in an instant, he didn't kill Vegeta. Instead, he let Vegeta take Nappa away. Although Vegeta was terrified of Wei Dong, he was certain that Wei Dong wouldn't be a match for him after his Great Ape Transformation. So Vegeta tossed Nappa into the air and killed him with an energy blast.
After sending Nappa to Hell, Vegeta prepared to create an Artificial Moon. After all, Son Goku and the others wouldn't realize there was something else inside the energy blast.
As soon as Vegeta created the Artificial Moon, Wei Dong immediately cut off his tail. Vegeta stared at him in astonishment. He was a Saiyan too, and he had clearly seen Wei Dong cut off his tail.
Vegeta thought, But the only Saiyans left are me, Kakarot, and his son—not counting those two who died, of course. Where the hell did this guy come from? Still, the idiot cut off his own tail, so he can't transform into a Great Ape. He's no match for me.
Then Goku shouted, "Piccolo, Krillin, Tien Shinhan, Gohan! Get out of here and go to Kame House!"
But Vegeta had already noticed and swiftly brought his foot down. Just before it crushed them, Piccolo shoved Gohan out of the way. What a devoted father Piccolo was.
That's right, Piccolo sacrificed himself. But Krillin, Gohan, and Tien Shinhan were saved—Wei Dong had rescued them. He'd activated five-times Kaio-ken to save them. Goku shouted, "Why didn't you save Piccolo?"
Wei Dong slowly replied, "Let him train with King Kai. That'll save him the trip."
Goku looked stunned at first. Then he said, "Piccolo's dead, so the Dragon Balls are gone. He can't be revived!"
Wei Dong spoke up. "Goku, have you forgotten where I came from? There are Dragon Balls there that can bring people back to life. Those Dragon Balls can grant three wishes, and you can be revived no matter how many times you've died. So you should hurry and—"
Before he could finish, Vegeta grabbed Goku and tried to crush him. Without a word, Wei Dong charged over and gave Vegeta a brutal beating. The pain made Vegeta release Son Goku.
Wei Dong looked at Vegeta and set his Kaio-ken multiplier to two. That meant his power level was now 200,000.
But despite Vegeta's power level of 180,000, Wei Dong was still at a disadvantage and kept getting beaten.
By contrast, Vegeta grew more and more relaxed. He even taunted him. "You regret cutting off your tail now, don't you?"
"I, Vegeta, am the strongest Saiyan! Low-class warriors like you and Kakarot will never catch up to me."
But as the fight went on, Vegeta realized something was wrong: this guy seemed impossible to kill.
That's right. Wei Dong kept eating Senzu Beans from his Senzu Bean Potted Plant as he took a beating. After more than a year, it had grown over 400 Senzu Beans. He'd already eaten the other 400 or so while training in the Gravity Chamber: he'd get beaten nearly to death, then eat a Senzu Bean. Saiyans were supposed to gain a tremendous amount of strength after being brought to the brink of death, but Wei Dong seemed to get very little from this exploit. He had no idea why.
So Vegeta couldn't kill Wei Dong in one blow, which meant Wei Dong could keep eating Senzu Beans. He simply couldn't die.
"System, why am I still getting beaten after all this time?"
The system replied, "Host, your power level is very high, but your control of ki and combat skills are inadequate. You should practice or fight more to improve."
"Damn it, there's been no improvement at all!" Wei Dong cursed.
"Five-times Kaio-ken!" With that, Wei Dong activated Kaio-ken and began pummeling Vegeta. Vegeta was completely unable to fight back.
Just then, the system appeared. "Congratulations, host. You have triggered Vegeta's quest."
Option one: Kill Vegeta. Reward: 100,000 power level.
Option two: Let Kakarot defeat Vegeta. Reward: 10 System Coins.
Option three: Let Kakarot kill Vegeta. Reward: 200-times Gravity Chamber.
Wei Dong thought, Holy crap, ten System Coins! Since when has the system been so generous? Before, I'd only gotten 0.02 System Coins for helping another planet defeat invaders. Even the better rewards were only 0.09 System Coins. Now it's giving me ten just like that!
"Looks like I'll have to leave you to Goku, Vegeta." With that, Wei Dong broke Vegeta's tail. Vegeta returned to his normal form, muttering, "Damn it! Damn it!"
Then Wei Dong said, "Son Goku, he's all yours. I'll see you on Namek. Bye! Remember to spare Vegeta and let him go back."
As soon as he finished speaking, Wei Dong vanished, leaving only the Z Fighters and Vegeta behind.
