Frieza was drenched in sweat, then stammered, "Lord Beerus, why are you here? Forgive my poor eyes for not noticing your presence sooner."
Beerus picked at his ear and replied, "Ah, Frieza. I know you haven't had it easy all these years, but it isn't your time to die yet. After all, without you, there's no one left to clear out those useless planets."
"So, from now on, you don't have to die. Go help me destroy some planets; otherwise, the higher-ups will start nagging me again."
Frieza immediately said, "Yes, Lord Beerus! I am honored to be granted another chance by you. I will give it my all." Despite his words, Frieza remained kneeling on the ground, unable to bring himself to stand.
Beerus eventually gave up and left the matter to the Z Fighters. Vegeta demanded that he be killed, and Frieza, still kneeling, widened his eyes in terror.
Deep down, Frieza had already killed Vegeta a thousand times over. If not for the backing of the God of Destruction Beerus, Frieza would have lunged at Vegeta right then and there.
Son Goku spoke up, "Let's not. Frieza hasn't done anything evil since his resurrection, so killing him now wouldn't be right. Besides, Lord Beerus said he needs him to complete his tasks."
"Hmph, Kakarot! Just because you haven't seen the evil Frieza has done doesn't mean he hasn't done it. Your naivety will be the death of you, the Earth, and everyone else sooner or later," Vegeta retorted, scolding Son Goku.
Wei Dong was stunned. The personalities have swapped? Vegeta is prioritizing the protection of Earth, while Son Goku is obsessed with getting stronger. I have to give it to them—they've forgotten their original intentions.
There were arguments for and against keeping Frieza, but Wei Dong finally spoke up, "I have decided that Frieza should be allowed to live."
Vegeta was dumbfounded. "Nani?"
Wei Dong explained, "Listen to my reasoning. First, Frieza needs to complete the God of Destruction's tasks. Second, I need this Golden Frieza; he is quite important to me, and I will have use for him later."
Vegeta was even more confused and tried to brainwash Wei Dong, badmouthing Frieza. "A man like him doesn't know how to repay kindness; he is ungrateful. If you let him go today, it won't be long before he uses a Supernova to turn the Earth into fireworks."
No matter how much Vegeta badmouthed Frieza, Wei Dong remained unmoved. After all, Frieza was a key combatant in the upcoming Tournament of Power between the eight universes.
Wei Dong had already made up his mind regarding Frieza. Next was Broly.
When asked about his thoughts or where he wanted to go, Broly only shook his head, seemingly unwilling to speak.
Son Goku suggested that Broly train with them, but Vegeta lashed out, "Are you blind? If he loses control, the Earth is finished!"
Son Goku replied, "Vegeta, what are you afraid of? We'll be training in the World of the God of Destruction. If it blows up, it's the God of Destruction's problem, not Earth's."
Beerus shouted, "That level of quality is far worse than the Old Supreme Kai!"
However, Whis remarked, "That's not a bad idea."
But Broly spoke up, saying he didn't want to fight and just wanted to live a peaceful life.
Wei Dong thought of a solution and asked, "Broly, do you like animals?"
Broly froze. He thought of Xiao Lu, a giant beast from the planet where he grew up. Broly loved it and often played with it, but his father didn't feel the same and instead hurt Xiao Lu to force Broly to train. Broly gripped the green fur draped over his shoulders.
He replied, "I like them, but I don't know how to get along with them."
"Got it." Wei Dong used Instant Transmission to take Broly to a small island on Earth. The island was filled with many animals, and two people were there: Android 16 and Android 17, who were busy feeding birds. The sudden arrival of Wei Dong and Broly scared the birds away.
Android 17 asked, "Wei Dong, is something the matter?"
"Oh, nothing much, Android 17. I just found someone who also loves animals, so I wanted you to teach him. I plan for him to live here with you," Wei Dong said with a smile.
Android 17 replied, "Sure, that's fine. The one next to me is also here. There are more and more animals, and Android 16 and I can't keep up with them."
Wei Dong thanked Android 17 and asked why Android 18 wasn't there and why Android 16 had come.
Android 17 explained that Android 18 goes out periodically, and he wasn't sure what she was doing. As for Android 16, he found it boring at Bulma's place; even though there were animals, they were all fed by automatic machines. Android 16 felt he wasn't needed there, so he came to help.
Android 16 nodded in agreement.
"I see. Well, I won't disturb you anymore. Broly, you stay here."
Broly nodded and said goodbye.
Android 17 and Android 16 also said goodbye.
Wei Dong left.
After returning, Wei Dong let Frieza go, as Frieza could survive and fly through space on his own.
Then, Wei Dong said goodbye to the God of Destruction and Whis, and took Son Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Biro, and Trunks to a certain place.
That's right, the World of the Supreme Kai. When the Old Supreme Kai learned that Wei Dong was there for potential unlocking, he cursed and refused to do it.
Wei Dong said, "Don't worry, if I can't convince you, I'll let Beerus do it. How about that?"
When the Old Supreme Kai heard the name Beerus, he immediately agreed. However, where there is laughter, there is sorrow. The Z Fighters were happy, but Kibito was miserable because the Old Supreme Kai took all his frustration out on him. Shin, being clever, stayed far away, knowing better than to get involved.
Shin was indeed quite smart and knew how to read the room.
Actually, the Old Supreme Kai had doubts about unlocking the potential of only one person: Piccolo.
The Old Supreme Kai said, "A descendant of the Dragon Clan, not bad. It's a pity your brain isn't up to par—splitting yourself in two and creating Dragon Balls. Sigh."
Piccolo gritted his teeth in anger at the insult, and he and the Old Supreme Kai began a heated exchange regarding each other's ancestors and descendants.
They spent about ten days questioning each other, showing just how much they "cared."
When Piccolo asked why he said that, the Old Supreme Kai put on airs and refused to explain, as both had already exchanged plenty of "regards" for each other.
Nearly two months later, the Old Supreme Kai finished unlocking the potential of all the Z Fighters. Son Goku's base combat power was 260 million, Vegeta's was 210 million, Biro's was 200 million, Piccolo's was an absurd 130 million, and Trunks' was 230 million. Piccolo suspected the Old Supreme Kai was targeting him, but he had no proof.
The protagonist, Wei Dong, went from 520 million to 550 million, which he was quite satisfied with. But wait, is Wei Dong the protagonist? Not at all. So, who is? Please welcome the mysterious Son Gohan, whose base combat power was now approaching 310 million.
This kind of potential unlocking was truly insane to the extreme.
