Background / History

Tang Wulin attends the Spirit Pagoda’s martial soul awakening ceremony at age six with his father’s encouragement. He awakens Blue Silver Grass and leaves the ceremony discouraged by its apparent weakness. 40 41

Immediately afterward, he tries to comfort Su Mingyue, believing Su’s awakening was similarly disappointing. Su instead introduces himself and proposes that they become best friends; Tang Wulin eagerly accepts, experiencing his first close friendship. 41 42

Three years later, Tang Wulin arrives at Eastsea Academy to reunite with Su Mingyue. His forging practice and growth have made him physically stronger, though he retains an innocent manner that draws attention from other students. 51

After fighting Xie Xie and Zhou Changxi in the dormitory incident, Tang Wulin is assigned to Freshman Class 5 alongside Xie Xie. 54 58
