Shrek Academy is an obscure village academy near Suotuo City. It is unlicensed, underfunded, and operates outside the usual official academy structure, including using a different enrollment date from the Heaven Dou Empire’s standard schedule 58 61 70.

Its central recruiting claim is that it accepts only “monsters,” meaning unusually gifted students rather than ordinary applicants. Dean Flender relies on this reputation to draw geniuses despite the academy’s poor facilities and lack of resources 59 60 62.

Lin Xiao’s long-term Guardian Mission identifies Shrek as the place where Tang San’s future allies may gather. The mission requires him to persuade members of the group to voluntarily leave the academy permanently; he therefore enters under the identity of Mo Yang and becomes a teacher 8 57 59.

To gain authority over the prospective students, Lin Xiao travels to Suotuo City, defeats Dai Mobai when challenged at the gate, and secures a teaching position as Mo Yang 58 59.

During the enrollment period, Shrek successfully recruits Tang San, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing. However, Dai Mobai’s conduct, the academy’s misleading claims, and its poor conditions immediately give the four newcomers a deeply negative impression 63 64 66.

Conflict between the new and old students nearly causes Tang San, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing to leave. Flender retains them by punishing Dai Mobai, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar and promising reforms, while Mo Yang publicly pressures the academy to address its failures 75 76 78.
