A Soul Master reaches the Title Douluo rank upon attaining level 90. The rank is sufficiently rare that the Heaven Dou Imperial Family was stated to have no Title Douluo before Lin Xiao publicly entered its service as the Black Dragon Duke 1 29 30.
The transition from level 95 to level 96 divides ordinary Title Douluo from Super Douluo. Lin Xiao describes the breakthrough as feeling like entering an entirely different cultivation realm, with level 96 practitioners able to suppress opponents below that threshold in nearly every respect 8 11.
Title Douluo hold major military and political value. Emperor Xue Ye considered the acquisition of Lin Xiao, a purported reclusive Super Douluo, more consequential than the disturbance caused by his infiltration of the Crown Prince's Mansion; Dugu Bo's later service was likewise seen as a major increase in Heaven Dou's strength 29 55.
