Background / History

Ikaros was listed by Shen Mo's system as an original product, rather than a replica. Her listing stated that she would leave her original world after purchase, automatically recognize a master, and begin with ninety percent loyalty. Shen Mo inferred that this distinction was tied to her capacity to recognize and obey a master. 12

Shen Mo ultimately purchases Ikaros as the Merchant Guild's first official employee. Upon appearing in his room, she initiates a master-recognition ritual and identifies herself as the Entertainment Use All-Purpose Artificial Angel, α model “Ikaros.” 164

Soon afterward, Shen Mo removes her emotional and cognitive restrictions.
