Background / History

Luohu was a Chaos Demon God whose former body became the Demon Realm after his defeat. He founded the Demonic Path and became the second Heavenly Dao Saint after Dao Ancestor Hongjun, but the destruction he had caused led Hongjun and the Heavenly Dao to imprison his Primordial Spirit permanently within the Heavenly Dao’s origin. Sect Master Tongtian described him as “the dark side of the Great Desolation.” 149 150

A fragment of Luohu’s will resided in the Twelve-grade World-Destroying Black Lotus. Xuan Qing suppressed that will with the Treasure-Dropping Coin, Thunder Fire Refining World, the Innate Eight Trigrams Grand Formation, and the opposing power of the Twelve-grade Pure World White Lotus. Luohu attempted to invade Xuan Qing’s Dao heart through a Heart Demon Tribulation, but Xuan Qing instead refined that calamity and established the Heart Demon Tribulation throughout the Great Desolation. 149

Luohu later projected another will through the Luohu Star and tried to recruit Xuan Qing into the Demonic Path. He offered authority over the Demon Realm and revealed the location of the Five-Needle Pine, but Xuan Qing reported him to Hongjun; the Eye of the Heavenly Dao destroyed the star-bound will with Purple Firmament Divine Thunder. 154 155

As the Demonic Path weakened, the major demons publicly supported his deposition. His authority as Demon Ancestor fractured, though he remained its founder. When Saints descended upon and divided the Demon Realm’s origin, the Heavenly Dao released Luohu to defend the Demonic Path; he escaped Hongjun’s confinement but lost much of the Demon Realm and the trend of “Dao Declines, Demonic Path Rises.” 209 224 225

Free again, Luohu recruited Taotie, Chaos, Qiongqi, and Kui Gang as Demonic Path Saints, then used them to launch attacks across the Great Desolation while trapping several Saints in the Heavenly Demon Realm. His objective was not immediate conquest, but the depletion of the Heavenly Dao’s origin and the proclamation of his return. 231 232

After sacrificing the Greed, Wrath, and Delusion Demon Gods and absorbing their Dao origins, Luohu elevated his Demonic Path to Dao Equal to Heaven. He abandoned both the Primordial Demon Realm and its former great trend, prioritizing personal advancement over control of a diminished Demonic Path. 248

Luohu subsequently pursued the World-Destroying Millstone and repeatedly sought to reverse refine the Great Desolation. He cooperated with Yang Mei in the Chaos Source Sea, spread Demonic Path inheritances through the All Heavens and Myriad Realms, manipulated disciples of rival sects, and used incarnations to evade suppression. 281 308 310

After being trapped by the Saints, Luohu’s Primordial Spirit was killed by Lingbao Tianzun’s manifestation and his Great Dao was incorporated into the Primordial World. He nevertheless later awakened, corrupted the gestating Heavenly Duke, and entered the Demon Clan under that identity while waiting for another opportunity to advance. 329 347 348

In the Primordial True Realm, Luohu instigated conflict among the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin Clans while concealing himself as Heavenly Phoenix. He revealed the Demonic Path’s Great Dao General Outline and overwhelmed the Three Pure Ones, the Twelve Ancestral Witches, and multiple Chaos Demon Gods before Daoist Hong Tian intervened. 362 363

Personality

Luohu is calculating, patient, and relentlessly ambitious. His long-term goal is not merely control over demons, but the reverse refinement of the Great Desolation and the elevation of the Demonic Path into a Dao capable of rivaling the Heavenly Dao. He willingly abandons territories, authority, allies, and even former bodies when they no longer serve that pursuit. 239 248 324

He is also ruthlessly pragmatic. During the battle against the Chaos Demon Gods, he transferred damage inflicted upon himself to beings of the Primordial World, causing mass casualties to force his temporary allies to hesitate. He later used controlled beings as suicide attackers against Daoist Hong Tian. 287 364

Repeated defeats made Luohu more cautious. After losing to Xuan Qing and Primordial Lord of Heaven, he began relying on disguises, incarnations, and indirect corruption rather than openly attempting to reverse the Great Desolation without sufficient strength. 324 348
