Background / History

Steve awakens in the 21st century after spending seventy years frozen. He immediately sees through S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fabricated recovery environment, defeats the agents attempting to contain him, and attempts to escape before Du Mu stops him. 63

Learning that Peggy Carter is elderly, married, and has a family leaves Steve struggling with the loss of the life he expected to return to. S.H.I.E.L.D. assigns Du Mu to introduce him to the modern world while covertly monitoring him; Steve visits the Captain America Memorial Hall, including a reconstruction of his former room. 64
