The spaceship that broke through the atmosphere could no longer be chased. Raditz decided to let it go and focused on boosting his Ki, letting others know his location.
The immediate priority was to stop the Sacred Tree's rampant growth, and the only thing that could do that was the Dragon Balls!
"Bulma, give me the Dragon Radar!"
"Huh?"
"I need to find all seven Dragon Balls as soon as possible, quickly!" Raditz urged.
Bulma broke out in a cold sweat and pointed to the crashed plane. "It might be broken..."
"It's not broken, it's in my hands." Master Roshi produced the Dragon Radar, his eyes gleaming with wisdom behind his sunglasses. "I anticipated we might need the Dragon Balls, so I put the radar away to avoid losing it later."
"As expected of Master Mutaito!" Raditz exclaimed with joy.
"Um... I don't know if I'm mistaken, but someone who looked a lot like Goku took something from me." Bulma's voice grew softer, as if she had realized something irreversible.
"Took what?"
"It looked like Gohan's... hat."
"Just a hat..." Raditz waved his hand dismissively, then froze. "Could there be a Dragon Ball on Gohan's hat?"
Master Roshi was also shocked. "That's right! After we made that wish, I found the Four-Star Ball again and put it back in! I always meant to return it to Gohan but kept forgetting, and I happened to bring it out today!"
In their earlier conversation, Goku had inadvertently revealed the existence of the Dragon Balls. Turles hadn't seen them before, but seeing their unique appearance made him wary. If that was the case, it would be a huge problem!
Just then, everyone else arrived. They breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the shattered spaceship debris and the unharmed group.
"Where's Turles?" Vegeta asked first.
"He ran off."
"He actually got away?!"
"And he took a Dragon Ball with him," Master Roshi added.
Instantly, everyone's faces turned ashen, and they stood frozen. The Sacred Tree was absorbing energy too quickly; without the power of the Dragon Balls, they stood no chance of stopping this disaster. The entire Earth would be destroyed!
They had driven away Turles, but at the cost of Earth? That would be a terrible loss!
Vegeta and Nappa didn't care, but for Goku and the others, Earth was their home.
"Let's go see Kami. Maybe he has a solution," Goku suggested. A moment later, he suddenly shouted in surprise, "Look! It's Mr. Popo!"
Following his finger, they saw a completely black figure riding a magic carpet in the distance, holding an exquisitely decorated pot.
"Mr. Popo! Did Kami send you?"
"Goku!" Popo stopped his magic carpet. "Kami saw everything from the Heavenly Realm. He told me to give you this 'Super Holy Water.' If you sprinkle it on the roots of the Sacred Tree, it should stop its spread."
"Super Holy Water? Isn't that for drinking?" Goku remembered using the power of Super Holy Water against King Piccolo.
"Super Holy Water is inherently poisonous, but it also has detoxifying effects. It might be useful against the Sacred Tree. Since the Sacred Tree is said to be a fruit eaten by gods, Lord Kami asked you to try it."
Popo handed the pot to Goku.
Super Holy Water? Goku was skeptical, but at this point, it was a case of "any port in a storm." He flew towards the Sacred Tree with the pot, sprinkling it all around until every last drop was gone before returning.
The Super Holy Water's effect was immediate, and the Sacred Tree's expansion halted. However, the damage already inflicted upon Earth had not recovered; nearly a quarter of the planet was in a state of extinction.
They still needed to find the Dragon Balls!
To achieve this goal, they needed to increase their power, modify the spaceship, and locate the Dragon Balls. Thus, everyone decided to take a short break.
During this time, Bulma began developing a space-based Dragon Radar, while Raditz asked Bulma's father, Dr. Briefs, to build a gravity training room.
Over the next half-month, violent incidents and unrest erupted across Earth. Cities and villages of all sizes fought over remaining resources, and armed groups even waged war for their survival.
The King dispatched numerous troops for rescue and suppression efforts, doing his best to stabilize the situation. Natural disasters and human turmoil caused peace to gradually fade away.
Raditz floated high above, able to see the port and the sea connected to it. The vast blue ocean was the last pristine area on Earth. Rays of sunlight pierced through the fragmented clouds, casting various mottled patterns on the sea's surface. The city where he used to live was also a coastal city, where countless ships entered and exited the port daily, their horns blaring like departing soldiers.
When he was a child, he often went to the sea alone after school instead of going home. The vastness of the ocean could calm him. After a busy day, stopping by the sea to gaze at the distant scenery under the sun's final brilliance was always a kind of happiness.
He realized he hadn't seen the sea in a long time, and even this color was rare. Thinking about it, most of King Kai's Planet was green.
"Raditz, how much longer are you going to stand here watching? Vegeta said the gravity room is ready and wants you to train," Nappa said, resting a hand on Raditz's shoulder.
"Earth is a wonderful place, isn't it?"
"Hm?"
"Look at this scenery. You won't see this on other planets!"
Nappa looked slightly surprised and gazed at the boundless, clear blue sea. The shimmering light of the waves was dazzlingly bright. At the horizon where the sky met the sea, they merged into a soft hue. Seagulls soared on the wind, waves whispered, and the air was filled with a moist, cool, fresh scent.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
"Yeah... it is," Nappa mumbled. "But Vegeta's calling..."
"Let him wait."
"But..."
"Are you afraid of him, not me?" Raditz retorted coldly.
"..."
Nappa couldn't refute, so he could only endure it silently. Raditz was indeed much stronger than him at this moment, and even Vegeta had admitted it, so what else could he say?
"Savor the good life; there aren't many moments like this in life," Raditz said.
In fact, over the past half month, Nappa had also found Earth quite comfortable. His warlike nature had been fully unleashed by the most advanced game consoles. He excelled at all sorts of fighting games. Although he repeatedly lost to Raditz in their duels, his passion for gaming never waned.
Besides fighting, his greatest pleasure was playing fighting games.
Vegeta had a sparring match with Goku and lost. This made him determined to think day and night about how to surpass these two brothers.
In the evenings, everyone dined together. Saiyans always competed in eating capacity. Vegeta, having lost their fight, refused to lose in eating as well. The others also didn't hold back, eating ravenously, often with a separate table beside each person piled high with empty plates.
Gohan often went to train with Piccolo and occasionally played with Fast Dragon.
The coconut trees on Kame House Island swayed in the gentle breeze. Under the sun, Master Roshi lay on a lounge chair wearing sunglasses, with a beautiful women's magazine beside him exuding a wonderful aroma...
"Let's go, the gravity training room should be finished."
Raditz turned around, casting one last glance at the sea.
