Gravity Training Chamber

When Raditz and Nappa returned to Bulma's house, everyone had already been waiting for a while. Vegeta had long been impatient to go in and try it out, merely waiting for Raditz to show up.

There were two completed gravity training chambers. One had been specially built inside Bulma's home; after all, her house was spacious enough that an extra gravity chamber was nothing. The other was actually a gravity device installed aboard the new spaceship, HOPE. It had been modified from the wreckage of Turles's spaceship and a Saiyan single-pilot pod, making it suitable for long-distance space travel with multiple passengers.

At first, Vegeta had looked disdainfully at the hemispherical building that resembled an ordinary house. But Raditz kept talking about how useful the thing was, making him somewhat expectant even though he did not believe it.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, everyone. Let's go in." Raditz was the first to approach the gravity chamber.

The others followed close behind.

Inside, the walls shone with a silvery metallic luster. A central control system stood in the middle like a pillar supporting the roof, equipped with all sorts of precise adjustment modules. Other than that, there was only a high-strength floor. The empty interior contained no furnishings or equipment at all, leaving the space entirely for training, with only four panes of transparent glass around it.

The space was large enough to hold all of them. There were also separate changing rooms, showers, and lounges along the sides. The control panel's modules could adjust humidity, temperature, the concentration of various components in the air, and more. There were even small attack robots flying through the air.

These were all improvements Raditz had proposed according to his own ideas, making it far more complete than an ordinary gravity chamber. Though they had been rushed, and the gravity device could only reach two hundred times gravity, it was already more than enough for them at this point.

"This is the perfect training ground you mentioned?" Vegeta looked around, his expression less than pleased.

Compared with Planet Vegeta's technology, Earth's technology really was trash. Was this pathetic thing all they could build? Vegeta felt as though he had been swindled.

"That's right. This is the place."

"Are you messing with me? This isn't even as suitable as a remote mountain!"

"Don't be so impatient. Do you think the equipment here is just for decoration?" Raditz smiled and strode to the central console. "Right now, we're in an environment with Earth's normal gravity—one times gravity. Next, let's try ten times gravity, the same environment as Planet Vegeta."

As he spoke, Raditz entered the number 10 into the system. The screen flickered twice before stabilizing. Then the floor trembled slightly, accompanied by a strange humming in their ears that startled everyone. The next instant, the colors inside the room abruptly changed, the light dimmed, and a dark red glow flooded the entire space!

Within the red light, gravity silently became ten times stronger!

Having lived on Earth for so long, they suddenly felt as if they had returned to King Kai's Planet. It was as though some force beneath the ground had seized their limbs and was dragging them down.

"That's amazing—it really works!" Goku shouted. "I'd actually thought about getting something like this too. This is awesome!"

"As long as we're in this room, we can get the same training effect as on King Kai's Planet. Not bad at all."

"Hmph." Vegeta snorted.

That proud little look in his eyes seemed to say, So this is all there is to it.

"Next, let's try fifteen times." Raditz changed the number again and pressed the confirmation button. After a brief delay, the vibration and humming returned together, and the gravity suddenly increased.

At the same time, the intelligent system automatically changed the air pressure, humidity, and other settings to create the most suitable environment.

"Fifteen times gravity... this is a little challenging..." Krillin gave a strained grin as beads of sweat emerged across his forehead.

Yamcha was in even worse shape. His face was taut as he barely managed to hold on.

They had not trained these past few days, and their bodies had relaxed too much. They had not prepared themselves at all, so suddenly being crushed by fifteen times gravity felt exactly as terrible as one would expect.

For Saiyans, however, fifteen times gravity was still very easy. Vegeta even looked doubtful. "Can this really increase combat power?"

With his arms folded over his chest and his brows raised, he clearly did not trust it in the slightest.

Vegeta's expression stirred Raditz's rebellious streak. You doubt it? Then I'll let you experience high gravity firsthand!

"You all go outside for now. Just leave Vegeta and me in here. Let me give him a personal introduction first." Raditz smiled faintly, but his tone carried an unquestionable authority.

Goku nodded and walked out first, followed by Gohan and Piccolo.

One after another, everyone left, but they could not bear to go far. Instead, they pressed themselves against the gravity chamber's glass to watch. The two men stood straight as lances, and anyone who did not know better might have thought they were about to fight.

Under fifteen times gravity, both of them remained relaxed. Facing Vegeta, Raditz quietly reached toward the control panel and entered 50.

Hummm—

In an instant, gravity surged sharply. How's that now? Raditz thought.

But then he froze. Wait, that's not right. I'm in the gravity chamber too, so doesn't that mean... He had only just realized it when it was already too late. It felt as though a mountain had fallen from the sky onto his body. Every bone in him creaked, and his legs began to tremble.

Vegeta was not doing much better. His folded arms immediately fell apart, his body sank noticeably, and he gritted his teeth as he endured it.

"Well?" Raditz deliberately asked.

"Hmph. It's a little... stronger than before. It's still... nothing."

"Then let's see who can..." As Raditz spoke, he waved his hand and pressed the increase button beside the input device. It was touch-sensitive, allowing the gravity to climb one multiplier at a time without entering numbers.

At fifty times gravity, the sensor was incredibly sensitive, and the gravity multiplier instantly began to soar!

Both men's eyes widened, their faces turning livid as they held their breath and endured it. Neither was willing to admit defeat. How could either of them show weakness at a time like this? Raditz and Vegeta both thought the same way, desperately resisting the rising gravity until their faces and necks were red, their eyes filled with bloodshot veins.

"If you can't take it anymore, just say so. I..."

"I can keep going..."

"You..."

"You..."

In the end, neither of them had the strength left to speak. Their bodies were still holding up, but under the rapidly increasing gravity, their internal organs were nearly bursting apart. If not for the Ki protecting them from within, they would have been crippled already.

The onlookers had no idea what the two were doing. They only saw the number on the display climbing nonstop and cried out in alarm.

"As expected of Raditz. It's already reached one hundred times!"

"Vegeta is amazing too."

"Look at them. They're standing as steady as mountains under such gravity. In Master Roshi's words, they're 'deep as an abyss, firm as a mountain.' Incredible."

"That's right, it's reached one hundred and fifty! Look, they... they... they've fallen! They fell!"

"Save them!" Krillin shouted.

"Goku, cut the power!"
