"Director Olga is dead?" Mash covered her mouth, staring in disbelief at Roman's grief-stricken face.
Roman lowered his head, his fists clenched tight. He merely nodded with difficulty, saying nothing.
"Marie..." Pain and struggle filled his eyes as he muttered to himself.
"How could this happen?" Fujimaru Ritsuka leaned against the doorway of the medical room, his pupils trembling as he looked inside.
Lawrence and Leonardo da Vinci were still inside, investigating exactly what had happened.
"Time of death: 3:14:57 a.m." Lawrence braced both hands against the operating table, breathing heavily, his forehead drenched in sweat. "Cause of death: sudden cardiac arrest without warning?"
"Why did this happen?"
Cardiac arrest meant sudden death.
But even sudden death had triggers, such as heart disease, electrolyte imbalance, poisoning, and so on.
Yet Lawrence had found no trigger for Olga Marie's death.
Before Olga Marie's spirit body had been pressed into the flesh, this body had already undergone trial operation for quite some time. All observed data had shown it to be healthy and full of vitality. The procedure had only been delayed for so long out of concern that the spirit body and physical body might not be compatible.
