"It really is a troll!"
"There's only one here, but there should be two more."
"However, in the plot I remember, these trolls are supposed to be terrified of sunlight; they basically never appear during the day."
"What is the reason for it appearing in the forest now, and even stealing the Company's horses?"
"Is it because of the rainy weather?"
"Or is there some other reason?"
The moment he saw that tall troll monster from afar, a flurry of questions flashed through Morgan's mind.
It wasn't that he was being overly suspicious.
It was just that the plot world from his memories was, after all, only a movie.
Morgan now existed in this real Middle-earth.
In a real world, anything could go wrong.
How could a movie lasting a few hours possibly portray a plot that spanned months, years, or even decades?
If he believed everything from the information in his memory of the movie world, then sooner or later, Morgan would definitely die because of that so-called "plot experience."
Morgan had always been cautious; how could he not be concerned?
Just like the sneak attack last night, and just like the troll appearing in the heavy rain today.
These were things that had never appeared in the plot world of his memories.
These were all "accidents."
"Quick, over there!"
The dwarves beside him shouted in haste, and the group rushed toward the troll.
Morgan didn't think twice and immediately followed.
As they neared the troll, Morgan unslung the longbow from his back and drew an arrow.
The dwarf Bofur had just rushed forward with a short hammer in hand when he saw a massive, withered tree trunk whistling as it swept across.
He scrambled to roll to one side, accidentally getting a mouthful of mud.
"Ptooey, ptooey."
"Damn it, what kind of monster is this?"
"Watch out."
"We don't know either."
"We can't get close to it at all. Has Morgan arrived?"
The dwarf Fili dodged the troll's attacks nimbly while constantly provoking it.
"I'm here!"
Morgan shouted, and as his voice fell, the fully drawn bowstring in his hands let out a dull thrum.
Whoosh.
An arrow shot rapidly from Morgan's hand toward the distant troll.
The next second.
"Awoo!"
The troll let out a shrill, miserable scream.
The arrow had slammed into the troll's bald, hairless head.
"Awoo!"
The troll cried out in pain, immediately releasing the pony it had been holding with its other hand to reach up and yank the arrow from its head.
Staring at the blood-stained arrow, the troll turned its head to glare at Morgan and roared, "Damn human!"
"I'm going to eat you alive!"
The pained troll ignored the horse fleeing on the ground and the other dwarves, roaring as it charged straight toward Morgan.
"Fool!"
Morgan sneered, and the fully drawn bowstring in his hands let out another dull thrum.
Whoosh.
The arrow shot forth.
"Awoo!"
The shrill, miserable scream rang out once more.
Morgan's arrow had struck the troll right on its pitifully small, comical, upturned nose on its bald head.
Watching the troll in the distance tremble in pain as it reached up to touch the arrow embedded in the tip of its nose.
Morgan curled his lip; he had originally intended to shoot it in the eye.
"Damn humans, damn you!"
The troll shrieked in pain repeatedly.
It was just about to charge at Morgan again.
When it noticed a commotion coming from not far behind it.
Morgan looked up and saw that the dwarves from the temporary camp had all caught up.
Then, a scene that disappointed Morgan unfolded.
The troll looked at the dwarves charging from behind, then back at Morgan, immediately lost its nerve, and turned to flee.
"Trying to run!"
Seeing the troll attempt to escape, Morgan wouldn't allow it.
Such a good opportunity would be gone if it got away.
"Hey, big guy, I'm over here!"
Morgan stepped forward quickly and shouted, his longbow never lowering.
He raised his hand and loosed another arrow.
"Awoo!"
The troll cried out in pain once more.
This arrow struck the troll squarely on the back of its bald head.
The troll seemed to sense the danger.
It stopped hurling threats and didn't even bother to pull the arrow from its head, simply burying its head and sprinting toward the depths of the forest.
The troll was massive, covering a great distance with every stride, and its running speed was not slow at all.
It easily put distance between itself and the group of dwarves.
Morgan was faster; with his Agility enhanced to LV2, his current movement speed was more than twice what it had been before the enhancement.
But watching the troll focus solely on escaping, Morgan felt like cursing.
That monster had thick skin and flesh; unless he hit a vital spot like the eyes, he couldn't kill it even if he turned it into a pincushion.
If he couldn't kill the troll, he could forget about the treasure and swords hidden in its cave.
Morgan chased after it without a second thought.
"Morgan."
At this moment, the voice of Thorin Oakenshield came from not far away.
Morgan stopped in his tracks and looked toward the dwarf prince, who was surrounded by a group of dwarves.
"No need to chase it any further. It has been driven off, and there is no need for us to take unnecessary risks."
Thorin Oakenshield looked at Morgan and shook his head.
"But we've already wounded it. What if it comes back?"
Morgan knew that Thorin Oakenshield made sense.
A monster of such massive size was powerful and difficult to kill.
If the Company were to rashly engage it, casualties were highly likely.
But Morgan didn't want to give up just like that.
He couldn't exactly explain that the troll's cave held treasure and Elven swords.
"Rest assured, we won't be staying here for long."
"We leave as soon as the rain stops."
Thorin Oakenshield finished speaking.
As I thought, Morgan mused, the plot has changed again.
But could this rain really last all day?
Morgan looked up at the sky, where the heavy downpour continued unabated.
"Oh no, look over there."
At that moment, the dwarf Fili suddenly spoke up.
Everyone followed the direction Fili was pointing.
In the heavy rain, the massive troll that had just fled in a panic appeared once again.
But this time, it wasn't just one; there were three.
The massive troll leading them, with an arrow still stuck in its nose like a pig with a leek, was clearly the one from before.
Behind them followed two taller, stronger trolls, each brandishing even thicker tree trunks.
The enemy had clearly come for revenge.
"It won't be easy to leave now, even if we wanted to."
Bilbo suddenly spoke in a low voice.
Morgan couldn't agree more.
"Kili, catch!"
Thorin Oakenshield's expression shifted as he hurriedly tossed the longbow and arrows he had brought for Kili over to him.
"Everyone else, split up! Pair off, don't engage them head-on. Focus on distraction and entanglement."
"Leave the rest to Morgan and Kili."
Thorin Oakenshield reacted swiftly; the moment those three trolls appeared, he knew this battle was unavoidable.
"Are you confident?"
After giving his orders, Thorin Oakenshield looked at Morgan and asked.
"Of course!"
Morgan grinned, revealing a mouthful of chilling white teeth.
"Quick, quick!"
"Spread out!"
Thorin Oakenshield shouted, and the dwarves immediately scattered.
Morgan and Kili stood in the corners behind the others, longbows in hand, waiting for their moment to strike.
The battle was on the verge of breaking out.
