"Is there a party going on in there?"
Standing before Bilbo's Bag End, Morgan, who knew the plot well, could already imagine Bilbo's furious expression. He chuckled to himself and asked casually.
"Perhaps, you know how much dwarves love a gathering."
Gandalf rubbed his nose, replied, and then stepped forward to ring the doorbell.
At this moment, Morgan noticed that the branch mark Gandalf had made during the day was now emitting a faint, shimmering glow.
"Enough, I've had enough! I want to see just how many more dwarves there are, how many more!!!"
Before the door even opened, Morgan heard Bilbo's angry roar from inside.
Whoosh.
The door swung open, and Bilbo froze when he saw the two men standing outside.
He didn't know when he had poked a hornet's nest of dwarves, having assumed that only those rude, barbaric, and foul-smelling dwarves would be coming.
He hadn't expected it to be the two he had met that morning.
Bilbo had already learned some information from the dozen or so dwarves who had arrived one after another.
Seeing these two now made him somewhat suspicious.
"Good evening, Bilbo!"
Just then, Morgan, standing to the side, suddenly spoke up to greet him.
"I am Morgan, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"We met earlier today, do you remember?"
Faced with Morgan's smiling face, Bilbo remained quite gentlemanly.
Of course, it might also be because, having witnessed the barbaric and rude behavior of the group of dwarves inside, these two were certainly much more polite by comparison.
Bilbo smiled reluctantly: "Of course."
Walking into the room.
Morgan finally saw for the first time the dwarves he had previously only seen in films.
They were about the same height as a Hobbit, perhaps even a tiny bit taller.
But in terms of hair, dwarves were far more prolific than Hobbits.
This was easily apparent from the fact that the dwarves generally wore their hair in braids and sported full, bushy beards.
"Gandalf!"
"Gandalf, you've finally arrived."
"Good evening, Gandalf."
The dwarves greeted Gandalf one after another as they saw him.
Morgan noticed that this group of uniquely styled dwarves was busy moving large quantities of food from Bilbo's pantry onto the largest long table in the room.
The small, exquisite Bag End was already in a state of total chaos.
The thick, beautiful carpet was covered everywhere with dirty mud stains.
These were clearly caused by the dwarves, and it was no wonder Bilbo was so furious.
"Who is this?"
"Who is this fellow?"
After greeting Gandalf, the dwarves quickly noticed Morgan, and some immediately began to ask.
"This is a helper I brought along."
Just as Gandalf began to speak, the door to the room was knocked upon once again.
Gandalf, standing near the door, turned and opened it.
Morgan saw a tall, handsome, and resolute-looking dwarf standing at the entrance, wearing fine chainmail beneath a luxurious fur coat.
"Gandalf, this place you mentioned is certainly not easy to find."
"I got lost twice; if it weren't for the mark on the door, I never would have found this place."
The handsome, tall dwarf walked into Bag End as he spoke, and the other dwarves standing nearby immediately bowed their heads in salute.
Bilbo, however, sensed something wrong and immediately said: "A mark?"
"There is no mark on the door; I just painted it a week ago."
"There is a mark."
Gandalf replied: "I drew it there this morning."
As soon as Gandalf spoke, Bilbo immediately realized what had happened.
No wonder these dwarves didn't go looking for anyone else but all found their way to his house; it turned out Gandalf was the one behind it.
Bilbo looked at Gandalf, his face full of rage.
Gandalf saw this and immediately spoke up: "Bilbo Baggins."
"And Morgan."
He then gestured for Morgan, who was standing beside him, to continue: "Allow me to introduce our leader to you."
As Gandalf spoke, he looked toward the tall, handsome dwarf: "Thorin Oakenshield."
As the words fell, Thorin Oakenshield stepped forward immediately, looking at Bilbo, the Halfling whom Gandalf had mentioned so often, and smiled: "So, you are that Hobbit?"
"Mr. Baggins, can you tell me if you have ever participated in any battles?"
"Forgive me, I also want to know what weapons you prefer—axes, hammers, or swords?"
Thorin Oakenshield looked Bilbo over and continued. Although his tone was joking, Morgan could hear the underlying contempt in his words.
This prince of Durin's Folk, who could now also be called the Dwarf King of the Durin's Folk, had a sharp eye and easily discerned that Bilbo likely had no combat experience.
"This... none."
"But I don't understand what that has to do with me."
Although he had some guesses in his heart, Bilbo still didn't understand and could only speak truthfully in a low voice.
"I think so too."
"He doesn't look like a burglar, but more like a grocer."
Thorin Oakenshield laughed with his arms crossed, and the dwarves nearby joined in the laughter.
At this moment, Thorin Oakenshield walked up to Morgan, looking at him in his leather armor with a long sword at his waist and a longbow and quiver on his back, and said:
"This one looks more like a warrior."
"But Gandalf, I remember you saying that my company only needed a burglar, right?"
Thorin Oakenshield looked at Gandalf as he spoke. His expression was calm, but the meaning behind his words clearly expressed dissatisfaction with Morgan's arrival.
Standing to the side, Morgan easily sensed Thorin Oakenshield's contempt and arrogance.
Although this dwarf prince had a powerful aura and became the center of attention the moment he arrived, Morgan, a former undefeated underground fighting champion for two consecutive years who also possessed a system in this world, was equally proud.
Morgan was not like the clueless Bilbo when it came to being looked down upon by Thorin Oakenshield.
Before Gandalf could speak, Morgan spoke first: "Let me introduce myself: Morgan, bounty hunter."
As the words fell and he saw everyone's gaze shift toward him, Morgan nodded slightly to Thorin Oakenshield, who was looking at him, to show respect.
After all, the man held a noble status and was his employer for this trip; proper etiquette was still necessary.
After the gesture, Morgan looked straight at Thorin Oakenshield and said unceremoniously: "You may doubt my qualifications to stand here, but you cannot doubt the strength of a bounty hunter!"
"This is an insult to me, and even more so to all bounty hunters!"
"I challenge you to a duel!"
Morgan looked directly at Thorin Oakenshield and spoke in a deep voice.
As Morgan's words fell, everyone in the room realized that things had suddenly become serious.
Bilbo Baggins knew nothing and could do nothing, so mocking him was one thing.
But this human named Morgan...
At this moment, everyone truly began to pay attention to the Morgan that Gandalf had brought.
Honor cannot be insulted!
Let alone the honor representing the entire community of bounty hunters.
Just as dwarves would fight to the death if someone insulted them, this was the same principle.
Thorin Oakenshield immediately realized the mistake he had made, even though he did not know what a bounty hunter was.
Thorin Oakenshield turned to look at Balin, the oldest and most knowledgeable dwarf among them.
He saw Balin nodding; clearly, the other party knew about bounty hunters.
Facing the angry and aggressive Morgan, Thorin Oakenshield could not back down, nor could he retreat, so he said in a deep voice: "Fine, I accept your challenge!"
