Background & History

Bulma travels to Planet Namek with Krillin and Son Gohan to locate the Namekian Dragon Balls and revive those killed during the invasion of Earth. Her immediate personal priority is Yamcha's resurrection: despite their breakup and his infidelity, she initially hopes that saving him will give him a final chance to change. Anticipating danger, she brings both a real Dragon Radar and a decoy, surrendering the fake unit to Vegeta while secretly retaining the real one. 7 10 11

Although an ordinary human caught among vastly stronger fighters, Bulma remains essential to the Namek expedition. She pilots the group’s spacecraft, surveys Namek’s atmosphere before disembarking, and is included in the journey to the Grand Elder because the ship provides the group’s only practical escape route. 7 8 22

Vegeta recruits Bulma to modify Frieza’s spacecraft for high-gravity training.
