Background / History

Li Ke is a transmigrated youth living under the name Murata Qingtan. The Murata Clan had been charcoal sellers since the Warring States period and only formally became Konoha ninja in the previous generation. Li Ke’s parents died early, and he has a younger brother serving in Konoha’s logistics system during the war 5 4.

During the Ninja World War, Li Ke’s team was ambushed after their teacher secured a refuge for them. He forcibly removed Asuma from the path of danger and acted as bait so that Asuma and Kurenai could escape. Already missing his right eye, he was overwhelmed by a Stone jonin, lost his sword arm, and used an Explosive Tag in a final attempt to take the enemy down with him 1.

On the brink of death, he entered the Black Mist Space and met alternate versions of himself. The exchange granted him access to Type-Moon Li Ke’s Heroic Spirit Possession, through which he summoned Senju Tobirama. Tobirama’s presence temporarily reconstructed Li Ke’s lost eye and arm, sustained his heart, and used Li Ke’s body to eliminate the pursuing Stone shinobi 2 3.

After Konoha recovered him, Tobirama remained within Li Ke as a demanding mentor. Li Ke’s chakra reserves and vitality rose sharply, his meridians healed, and he abandoned his original plan to retire from ninja life. Instead, he began building the strength, reputation, and political alliances needed to become Hokage and end the cycle of ninja warfare 4 6 12.

He is fiercely protective of Kurenai, his brother, and Konoha’s ordinary ninja, but his ideals extend beyond personal loyalty. The brutality of war convinces him that the ninja system itself must change.
