At the Giant Turtle Island base, this period had been truly unbearable for Naruto Uzumaki. Fortunately, what he was doing now was the training he most wanted to undertake. As long as he could grow stronger and come closer to his dream of becoming Hokage and earning everyone's recognition, he could persevere even through things he did not want to do.

For Naruto Uzumaki, undergoing chakra control training—something he was not good at to begin with—and trying to control the extremely difficult Nine-Tails chakra was simply torment.

The most unruly chakra paired with Naruto Uzumaki, who was not particularly skilled at chakra control, was truly an awkward combination.

The Uzumaki Clan excelled at sealing techniques, so they should have possessed considerable talent for chakra control.

Unfortunately, Naruto Uzumaki had perfectly avoided the Uzumaki Clan bloodline advantages of his mother, Kushina Uzumaki. Though his chakra control was slightly better than that of ninjas with no talent at all, he held no advantage over even moderately gifted people.

He had inherited none of the control ability his father, Minato Namikaze, possessed, nor even the level of sealing technique required to master the Flying Raijin Jutsu.

The one comforting thing was that he had perfectly inherited Kushina Uzumaki's fiery temper and impatience. And Minato Namikaze's sunny blond hair had indeed faithfully reproduced Minato Namikaze's bloodline.

But now, Naruto Uzumaki's greatest difficulty was not his chakra control.

Nine-Tails chakra was not ownerless. Kurama within him was the being that could perfectly control Nine-Tails chakra.

Without Kurama's permission, Naruto Uzumaki could not control Nine-Tails chakra. Only when his emotions became excessively agitated would the surging Tailed Beast chakra within him unconsciously spill out, producing phenomena such as the Tailed Beast Cloak and partial Tailed Beast transformation.
