King Vegeta naturally had no idea what Beerus was thinking. After privately counting himself lucky, he no longer dared underestimate the God of Destruction before him and prepared to go over and greet him.
He didn't want to be slammed into the ground again. It had been a terrible feeling! He'd never imagined the God of Destruction could be so powerful!
Damn it! Just how high was this God of Destruction's battle power?!
"Father."
A young voice called out from behind him.
King Vegeta recognized the familiar voice at once. Cold sweat broke out across his skin, and he abruptly stopped in his tracks.
"Hm?"
Beerus, seated on the throne, naturally noticed his strange reaction and gave a quiet murmur of surprise.
He looked toward the voice and spotted a little kid standing there.
What caught Beerus's interest was the way the kid was glaring at them as if they were unforgivable villains!
Interesting!!
Beerus curled the corner of his mouth.
Whether the child was simply too young to know better or had some other reason, he was looking straight at a God of Destruction with the eyes of a mere mortal.
That alone gave the God of Destruction every right to destroy this disrespectful mortal!
King Vegeta had only just realized how terrifying the God of Destruction was. Naturally, he didn't feel safe, so he hurriedly shielded Mu Yang and stared warily at Beerus.
Beerus gave a derisive laugh. "Relax. I'm the God of Destruction. I'm not going to hold a grudge against a child!"
King Vegeta relaxed at that and let out a long breath.
If Beerus was a God of Destruction, then surely a god's word could be trusted!
"Father, are they our enemies?"
Mu Yang pretended not to recognize Beerus and the others, looking at them with wary seriousness.
King Vegeta was startled and hurriedly waved his hands. "No, no... Yang'er, don't look at Lord Beerus like that."
Beerus had only just calmed down. What if Mu Yang made him angry again? What would they do then? Planet Vegeta couldn't be allowed to perish on his watch!
"Enemies?"
Beerus was intrigued and scoffed. "You Saiyans aren't worthy of being my enemies!"
"Liar!"
Mu Yang put on an innocent, childlike expression and said, "My father told me that we Saiyans are the strongest warrior race in the entire universe!"
He said this for no other reason than to amuse Beerus with his childish remark, hopefully cheering him up and putting the idea of destroying Planet Vegeta out of his mind.
Mu Yang's childish words instantly made Beerus laugh. He turned to Whis. "Whis, did you hear that? The strongest warrior race in the entire universe? Hahaha..."
He could no longer maintain his imposing demeanor. He slapped the table hard and tried to compose himself.
Whis remained calm. The Scepter showed images of Saiyans running rampant across various planets. After glancing at them, he said mildly,
"Lord Beerus, aside from the Frieza Race, the Saiyans are indeed among the highest-level fighters in Universe 7."
Beerus's laughter abruptly stopped, and his expression quickly darkened.
King Vegeta and Mu Yang had no idea what had happened when—
"You're saying this bunch of stinking monkeys are the second-highest-level fighters in Universe 7? What kind of joke is that, Whis?! Wouldn't that make me a laughingstock to that Champa fellow?"
"I'm not joking, Lord Beerus."
"Damn it! What have the Supreme Kais been doing?!"
Beerus acted as if no one else was there. He slammed a fist into the table, cracking it in several places, and glared furiously.
He'd taken a look at the Saiyan race. Not a single one of them had a battle power of ten thousand, and yet this inferior race was supposedly the second strongest in Universe 7?!
What kind of cosmic joke was that?!
If things continued this way, Universe 7's average score might fall below a certain threshold, and then Lord Zeno could erase it.
Thinking of how terrifying Lord Zeno was, Beerus couldn't help shivering. His whole body trembled.
"Lord Beerus, while you were asleep, the Supreme Kais underwent a change of leadership. A mortal named Majin Buu killed four of them, leaving only the East Supreme Kai to take up the position."
"And the East Supreme Kai doesn't even know that the God of Destruction exists! He's focused on dealing with Majin Buu and has no time to manage the universe."
The Scepter showed the South, West, and North Gods of Destruction being beaten senseless by Majin Buu. It then showed Majin Buu and the Grand Supreme Kai merging into one before being sealed away.
Beerus glanced at the image and said disdainfully, "Those Supreme Kais really are an embarrassment. Four of them were killed by a mortal? They're a disgrace to the gods!"
"Then, Lord Beerus, would you like to go?"
"Forget it. I don't want to deal with those idiots, the Supreme Kais. How many years ago was the last time I spoke with them?"
"Lord Beerus, it was thirty million years ago. You also sealed away the Old Supreme Kai."
Whis kindly reminded him.
Beerus tapped his head as he recalled.
"Oh, right. That Old Supreme Kai mouthed off to me, so I sealed him inside a sword."
"Then there's even less reason to worry. Even if the East Supreme Kai gets himself killed, I won't disappear. Let him be."
Beerus propped his head up and waved a hand, completely unconcerned.
Whis said nothing more and let the subject drop.
"Then, Lord Beerus, what should we do with those two?"
"Since they've heard the secrets of the Divine Realm, I should destroy them to keep the news from spreading and putting that Old Supreme Kai fellow in danger."
Beerus said this with no more concern than if he were crushing an ant.
Danger!
A great danger!
Mu Yang's alarm bells were blaring. He was utterly numb with shock as he cursed inwardly.
What kind of ridiculous situation was this?!
He hadn't wanted to hear any of this godly business. Besides, he already knew all of it. To die over something he already knew was the most unjust fate imaginable.
Even Dou E had it better than him!
Mu Yang clenched his fist without thinking, his teeth pressing against his lip until he nearly drew blood.
So this was the God of Destruction?
So casual, so cruel, so wantonly depriving others of their lives!
He wasn't willing to accept this! He hadn't even gotten to explore the wonders of the universe!
King Vegeta seemed to have been scared witless. He stood frozen after hearing Beerus's words.
Beerus took in their expressions and gave a slight shake of his head. An emotionless gaze, one that only a god could possess, appeared in his eyes as he looked at them both without distinction.
Purple particles of light swirled around him and continually streamed out from his body. The pressure kept rising, showing no sign of stopping.
Mu Yang was completely stunned!
It wasn't because Beerus was so terrifying, but because...
