Background / History

Caulifla and Kale encounter Mu Yang in the wilderness of Planet Sadala when they are both five years old. Curious about his claim to be a Saiyan from Universe 7, Caulifla eagerly questions him about the twelve universes and asks how to travel between them. Her excitement contrasts with Kale's caution toward the stranger 34.

After witnessing Mu Yang's battle with Hit and his Super Saiyan transformations, Caulifla is deeply impressed by the forms and by Mu Yang's storage ring. She and Kale agree to acknowledge Mu Yang as their big brother in exchange for storage rings, then guide him toward Planet Sadala's royal capital 35 37.

At the royal palace, Caulifla reunites with her classmate and friend Cabba. When Mu Yang offers to teach the Super Saiyan transformation, she and Kale become his disciples so that they can receive his instruction. Caulifla successfully transforms into a Super Saiyan and eagerly tests its power, damaging trees in the palace courtyard before Cabba stops her 38 39.

Kale's first transformation instead becomes an uncontrolled Legendary Super Saiyan state. Caulifla attempts to bring her back through force, but her attacks do not harm Kale; Kale severely injures Caulifla and leaves her unconscious. Mu Yang later defeats Kale and has Cabba bring both girls for treatment 40 41.

Caulifla is lively, bold, and intensely curious. She is immediately fascinated by Mu Yang's stories of other universes, his transformations, and his storage ring, responding to extraordinary sights with open excitement rather than fear 34 37.
