"Majin Buu, be a good person in your next life."
A man wreathed in golden ki flames stood in the sky. With the index and middle fingers of his left hand pressed against his forehead and his right hand aimed downward, a massive white Spirit Bomb over a kilometer wide bore down upon a pink-skinned monster.
"Ah!"
Suddenly, the man let out a shout, and a terrifying aura erupted from his body.
Majin Buu felt the pressure of the Spirit Bomb he was holding back with both hands surge instantly. Before he could even react, he was pulverized into dust by the giant sphere of energy.
"There are only a few months left until the plot of Battle of Gods begins!"
Lei Chen looked at Son Goku in the sky and said with a bitter smile. He had originally thought that having just achieved Super Saiyan 2, he would have enough strength to protect himself.
But now? Never mind Son Goku; even Vegeta, Son Gohan, or the Supreme Kai who fused with his attendant were people Lei Chen wasn't certain he could defeat.
Lei Chen's current combat power was roughly on par with Son Gohan when he first transformed into a Super Saiyan 2 as a youth.
"It seems there is only one place that suits me best."
Lei Chen muttered to himself, his gaze shifting toward the Lookout. His target was the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Three days after the death of Majin Buu.
Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
After exerting every ounce of effort to build a rapport with Son Goku, Lei Chen finally succeeded in entering the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
To Lei Chen, other people were not easy to deceive; only a protagonist as simple-minded and slightly foolish as Son Goku was the easiest to manipulate. Of course, this was also because Lei Chen hadn't killed many people, and the aura he possessed was righteous, which was why the other Dragon Team members didn't harbor much resentment toward him.
Naturally, the most important factor was that there were quite a few people whose strength surpassed Lei Chen's. Even Piccolo, though not as strong as Lei Chen, wasn't far behind.
"I've been in this world for over forty years. I thought that even if my combat power couldn't compare to Son Goku's, it should be on par with Vegeta's, but I never expected so many people to be stronger than me. This is truly embarrassing."
Although Lei Chen had been in the Dragon Ball world for many years, he had arrived on a primitive planet the moment he was born. The human civilization on that planet was primitive, and because his spaceship had broken down upon arrival, Lei Chen had been trapped living on that primitive world for over forty years.
It was precisely because of this that he missed so much of the plot, but during those forty-plus years, Lei Chen had learned various miraculous abilities on that primitive planet—Instant Transmission being one of them.
It was thanks to Instant Transmission that Lei Chen had successfully managed to leave that planet.
Lei Chen looked at his surroundings; everything was a blank, flat expanse. There was no end to the white plains, and the sky above was a dull, hazy white. There were no objects to be seen, save for the building beside him.
The gravity in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber was ten times that of the outside world. A person could only enter the chamber for a total of two years in their lifetime—the equivalent of two days in the outside world—but that was only for those with a combat power below 200 billion. For those who surpassed 200 billion in the later stages, they could stay inside for as long as they wished.
In the story, Piccolo destroyed the exit to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and still managed to get out, so even if the chamber closed automatically, what could it really do?
"Then, let us begin."
Lei Chen's training was not like that of Son Goku or Vegeta, who performed high-difficulty movements or sparring.
Lei Chen's training mode was more akin to Piccolo's: sitting quietly on the flat ground. However, Lei Chen was not training his mental willpower or fighting against himself.
Lei Chen was seeking enlightenment from the heavens and earth, absorbing the invisible energy around him to increase his combat power. This was why, despite knowing so many training methods from the Dragon Ball world, he had only reached Super Saiyan 2 after forty-plus years of bitter cultivation.
Because there was no gravity room on that planet, ordinary training had become largely useless to Lei Chen once he had transformed into a Super Saiyan.
