West City

Lei Chen lay sprawled on the ground. After resting for about a minute, he finally regained some of his strength. Son Goku, who had already passed out, had long since recovered to his peak condition and was back on his feet, walking toward Lei Chen.

"Here."

Son Goku stopped in front of Lei Chen and took out a bean that looked like an ordinary peanut.

"Is that the thing you just ate to recover your strength?"

Lei Chen pretended to look surprised as he spoke.

"Hehe, yeah. It's a Senzu Bean. As long as you don't die, it can heal you from any injury, no matter how bad."

Son Goku smiled at Lei Chen as he explained.

"That's amazing." As Lei Chen spoke, he ate the Senzu Bean Son Goku had given him. In an instant, his strength returned. When Saiyans recovered from near-death injuries, their power increased significantly.

The increase wasn't as terrifying later on, but at this point, Son Goku's power still rose considerably. His Super Saiyan 3 power had now reached twelve trillion.

Lei Chen hadn't been as badly injured as Son Goku, so his power hadn't increased as much. Even so, his Super Saiyan 2 power had reached 1.2 trillion.

"Dammit! Aside from those few little brats, how can I, the mighty Saiyan Prince, be the weakest Saiyan?!"

Vegeta said bitterly to himself.

Lei Chen was born in Age 732, the same generation as Vegeta. Back then, Vegeta's power had already surpassed a thousand, while Lei Chen had only a hundred—barely enough to qualify as an intermediate Saiyan warrior.

On Planet Vegeta, Vegeta hadn't given Lei Chen a second thought. He hadn't expected that when they met again thirty or forty years later, Lei Chen's power would have surpassed his own.

Even if Lei Chen transformed into that unstable Super Saiyan God, Vegeta still couldn't take him on.

"Hmph!"

Vegeta snorted and stopped paying attention to Son Goku and Lei Chen. He quietly left on his own, returning home to train furiously in the Gravity Room.

Not long after Vegeta left, Lei Chen had recovered to his peak as well. After saying goodbye to Son Goku at the Lookout, he left.

December 1, Age 776

Son Goku was 37, Vegeta was 45, Lei Chen was 45, Son Gohan was 17, Son Goten was 7, and Trunks was 8.

West City.

It was a beautiful, sprawling city with a pleasant climate, elegant surroundings, beautiful architecture, and convenient transportation. Its technology was hundreds of years more advanced than that of Earth in Lei Chen's previous life.

Since the city lay in the west, people in the Dragon Ball world called it West City.

As usual, the city teemed with people hurrying about. Traffic streamed along the roads as everyone busied themselves with their own affairs, creating the fast-paced atmosphere of a modern metropolis.

In the midst of this bustling city, no one noticed that a man had quietly set foot there.

He had a handsome face and a slender build, and a tail hung behind him. As he walked down the wide street, passersby often glanced at him. Most only looked once, though. After all, you could find all sorts of people in this world. Lei Chen just had an extra tail, which made him look a little unusual—like a foreigner suddenly appearing on a street in China. Most people would take a second look, then carry on.
