Through his research, Lei Chen had discovered that combining these two forces could open a dimensional rift and allow him to enter another universe.
It could be called a parallel world within the Dragon Ball universe—or another Dragon Ball world altogether.
The point in time differed in each world, as did the strength of its ki. From what Lei Chen could sense, the world he currently inhabited was the most powerful of them all.
There was one world weaker than this one, yet far stronger than the others. It was the world Lei Chen wanted to visit now. He suspected it was the GT World. The Saiyan ki there was wilder than in his current world, much like the ki emitted when someone transformed into a Great Ape.
Lei Chen had started studying that dimensional universe as soon as he entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. At the time, however, he had felt that he wasn't strong enough to go there, so he had held back. Now, he believed the time had come.
Looking at the dark, inky passage before him, Lei Chen slowly rose into the air and entered the black hole.
Inside the passage, multicolored streaks of light flashed past. As he sensed the ki around him, Lei Chen moved forward. After an unknown amount of time, he focused his mind, and his entire body vanished.
When Lei Chen appeared again, he was in the vast, deep reaches of outer space. Tiny stars twinkled like fireflies in the night, scattered across an endless sea of stars. Looking up, the broad Milky Way stretched from west to east like a veil of gauze.
Darkness stretched all around him, while the stars gave off a captivating, pale-white glow.
"Is this the Milky Way?"
Lei Chen looked around, surprised to find himself in the vacuum of space. If he weren't an ordinary Saiyan—if his energy weren't different from that of other Dragon Ball fighters, closer to divine energy but not quite divine—he wouldn't have been able to do this.
Lei Chen couldn't survive in the vacuum of space the way gods like the Gods of Destruction and Supreme Kais could. Still, he could last there for a short time.
Besides, in the story, after Son Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan God, he was able to fly through space and fight Beerus without any trouble. In other words, a Super Saiyan God could survive in the vacuum of space.
