A Natural-Born Talent

After Son Goku watched Trunks leave, he began explaining to everyone what was going to happen in the future.

But because he wasn't good at explaining things, he didn't know where to start.

In the end, Piccolo took over for Goku and repeated the crisis Trunks had told them about, cleverly leaving out his identity.

"Phew!"

When everyone heard that two Androids would appear in a year and wreak havoc, they cried out in alarm.

"That's how things stand. I'm going to start training!"

After Piccolo finished speaking, he swished his long white cape and turned to leave with a flourish.

Vegeta had taken a serious blow today, and he didn't want to stick around any longer, either.

He was going to begin his intense training and try to become a Super Saiyan as soon as possible.

As he thought about it, he cast a subtle glance at Li Lin.

Just you wait. Next time we meet, I'll show you what I can do!

Without saying goodbye to anyone, he left them with his back turned and headed off in one direction.

"Everyone, I'll be going, too. We'll get in touch again in a year!"

With Chiaotzu, Tien Shinhan said his goodbyes to everyone and flew off toward the horizon.

The only ones left at the scene were Li Lin, Son Goku, Son Gohan, Krillin, Yamcha, and Bulma.

Although Son Goku had learned what was coming, he didn't seem as worried as the others.

After all, the fighting instinct within him was incredibly strong. When he encountered a powerful opponent, his first reaction wasn't fear but intense excitement.

Li Lin seemed fairly relaxed, too, since his strength was already on par with a Super Saiyan 2.

He only needed to learn some basic things. The Androids would be no problem, and even Cell, who would appear later, wouldn't stand a chance against him.

"Let's head back, too!"

Krillin suggested it to the others who remained.

Now that Frieza and the others had been eliminated, there was no point in staying here.

They might as well go back and focus on training to prepare for the Android crisis a year from now.

Bulma, Gohan, and Yamcha had no objections.

"Li Lin, where do you live?" Son Goku had no objections either. He turned to Li Lin and said, "If you don't have anything else to do, how about we train together over the next year?"

He was eager to fight a strong warrior like Li Lin.

Anyone who could defeat Frieza had to be formidable.

Training alongside someone like that would surely be even more effective!

Hearing Son Goku's suggestion, Li Lin nodded without hesitation and smiled. "Sure. I'd love to!"

One of his talents was that he grew stronger whenever he fought.

Son Goku was the strongest person on Earth right now. Training with him would definitely help Li Lin improve by leaps and bounds.

At the same time, Li Lin was in urgent need of learning some basic fighting techniques.

Krillin and the others had no objections. From their earlier conversation, they knew that although Li Lin had appeared out of nowhere, he didn't seem like a bad person.

"Since everyone's decided, let's go to my place first. We can all have a meal together and relax!" Bulma suggested with a smile.

Her eyes were full of admiration as she looked at Li Lin.

A young, handsome, powerful man like him had an irresistible appeal to a woman like her.

Li Lin smiled and rubbed his nose.

If he guessed correctly, Yamcha beside them was Bulma's boyfriend at the moment.

As for Vegeta stealing her away from Yamcha, that would probably happen sometime during the coming year.

No one objected to Bulma's suggestion.

With that, everyone boarded Bulma's aircraft and flew toward Capsule Corp.

During the flight, Krillin asked Li Lin curiously, "Are you an Earthling? How come I've never heard of you before?"

Hearing Krillin's question, Li Lin smiled and nodded. "Of course. I was born and raised on Earth!"

He silently added, Even if it wasn't this world's Earth!

"I used to live deep in the mountains and kept to myself, so of course you hadn't heard of me."

Li Lin made up an excuse and explained with a faint smile.

"Oh, so that's why you appeared on that mountain cliff," Krillin said thoughtfully, scratching his bald head.

Hearing their conversation, Son Gohan grew interested. His face full of curiosity, he asked, "Then how did you train, Uncle Li Lin?"

"You're so strong! You defeated Frieza, that incredibly powerful villain, with just one move!"

At his son's question, Son Goku's expression briefly froze, then turned excited.

He knew Li Lin had defeated Frieza, but he didn't know the details.

Now that Gohan had said Frieza was taken out with a single move, Goku grew even more excited.

He hadn't expected this mysterious warrior he'd just met to be so powerful.

Though he was strong enough to defeat Frieza with one blow himself, he was still eager to test his strength against Li Lin!

"Uh..." Li Lin's expression stiffened when he heard Son Gohan's question.

He didn't know how to answer.

After all, he hadn't gained his power through any normal means.

"Maybe I'm just naturally talented. I didn't really train on purpose. I just naturally became this strong."

Li Lin thought for a moment, then came up with a plausible excuse to brush off the question.

But to everyone else, his words sounded completely different.

Son Gohan gave him a strange look.

Krillin's cheek twitched slightly.

Even Son Goku swallowed unconsciously.

Luckily, Vegeta wasn't there. If he'd heard that answer, he would've thrown up blood on the spot!

I've trained so hard for so long, and you make it sound so easy?

"You didn't train on purpose?"

"You just naturally became this strong?"

Damn it, why can't I become like that?

These questions crowded into everyone's minds.

Looking at their various expressions, Li Lin shook his head helplessly.

Didn't I already tell you? I'm a natural-born talent! Why are you still acting so incredulous?

While everyone was still marveling at Li Lin's strength, they had already landed at Capsule Corp.

Vegeta had returned there earlier. As soon as he got back, he shut himself inside the Gravity Training Room and trained in silence, acting as if he belonged there.

That was only because Bulma was kind, and Yamcha was a little afraid of Vegeta.

If it had been anyone else, they would've kicked him out long ago!
