Drawing Attention

After they finished eating, the sky had already begun to darken.

Son Goku prepared to head home with his son and warmly invited Li Lin to come along.

After all, they had agreed to train together in the days ahead.

If they lived too far apart, it might be inconvenient.

Li Lin thought it over briefly, then agreed.

Before leaving, he made a point of asking Bulma for a Hoi-Poi Capsule containing a house.

After Son Goku and Li Lin finished breakfast, they prepared to spar.

However, just as the two of them were ready to begin, Li Lin suddenly said something that left Son Goku dumbfounded.

"Um, Goku. Don't rush into it just yet. First, teach me how to control my ki, then show me a few basic moves."

Li Lin scratched his head and spoke sheepishly.

Son Goku's jaw nearly dropped. Eyes wide, he asked, "What do you mean? Li Lin, you still don't know how to control your ki?"

Li Lin blushed and nodded awkwardly.

Although he could use attacks like Ki Blasts, he really had no idea how to control his ki.

"Gulp." Goku swallowed, then pointed at Li Lin. "Then why can't I sense your ki? Have you been suppressing it?"

Goku was deeply confused. If Li Lin couldn't control his ki, why couldn't he sense the power within him?

Back when Vegeta first arrived, he hadn't known about ki either, but people could sense him from far away.

"Uh, maybe our constitutions are a little different."

Li Lin explained helplessly.

He remembered that one of the talents he'd received from the system was Body Shape Strength Reshaping. It was quite possible this had something to do with it.

Son Goku was still confused by Li Lin's explanation and couldn't make sense of it.

Fortunately, he wasn't the sort to overthink things. After mulling it over for a moment, he stopped worrying about it.

"All right, then. I'll explain it to you. I might not be very good at teaching, so I hope you won't hold it against me."

Son Goku spoke slowly.

Li Lin smiled and nodded, replying politely, "Of course not. You're too modest."

His mind could now analyze anything with remarkable clarity.

He was confident that if someone explained something to him once, even roughly, he would understand it completely.

Seeing that Li Lin didn't mind, Son Goku began to explain.

The explanation went on for half an hour.

There was no doubt that Son Goku was an excellent fighter.

But as a teacher, he was truly dreadful.

Fortunately, his student was Li Lin, whose ability to grasp things was extraordinary.

Although the explanation was a little halting, Li Lin had at least managed to understand the gist of it.

"Whew!"

When he finished, both of them sighed at almost the same time.

"Li Lin, that's all I've got. You'll probably need to practice for a few days. Why don't we fight first?"

Son Goku wiped the sweat from his forehead and eagerly suggested.

Back when he'd tried to sense ki, he'd suffered plenty at Kami's hands.

Li Lin would surely need some time to master it completely, too.

They might as well have a good fight while they were at it. Goku had been itching to spar for ages.

"Wait a moment." Li Lin smiled, then closed his eyes and felt for the ki inside him.

Son Goku furrowed his brow slightly and opened his mouth to say something.

But the next moment, the words caught in his throat.

All at once, an overwhelming aura filled the entire world.

Boom! A blinding white light erupted from Li Lin and shot into the sky, like a pillar reaching up to the clouds.

The whole space trembled beneath the pressure of that mighty aura, as if it were about to collapse.

"This... this ki is terrifying!"

Son Goku shivered, fists clenched as he spoke excitedly.

He'd assumed Li Lin would need some time to master ki.

He'd never imagined Li Lin would master it after hearing the explanation just once, let alone unleash such a powerful aura.

"It's a frighteningly thrilling feeling."

Son Goku continued.

The hairs on his body stood on end, and he began to tremble, but the blood rushing through him was filled with intense excitement.

At the same time, every corner of Earth was flooded by this mighty aura.

Nearly every powerful fighter looked toward the same place.

Piccolo was meditating in midair, but his expression was one of utter shock. He stared blankly into the distance. "What is that? How can there be such a terrifying presence?"

At Kame House, Krillin was training. Cold sweat poured down his body, and his eyes were filled with shock. "W-Whose ki is that? Damn, that's... that's terrifying!"

At Capsule Corp, Vegeta was training hard in the gravity room.

The instant he sensed that overwhelming aura, his heart lurched. He powered up, and the blast shattered the gravity room.

"Who is it? Who is that?"

Vegeta glared at the sky and roared.

The strength of that aura was completely beyond his understanding.

He was still striving to become a Super Saiyan, but this aura surpassed a Super Saiyan's power entirely.

He couldn't accept it. All he could do was roar in fury!

At the Lookout.

Mr. Popo supported the elderly Kami. Fear shone in his round eyes.

"Whew!" Kami watched what was happening below and let out a long breath. He spoke slowly. "How astonishing. Goku probably isn't a match for this person."

"Then... then what should we do?"

Mr. Popo looked terrified as he asked, his voice unsteady.

Ever since the Saiyans had come to Earth, everything that had happened had been beyond their control.

Now another being this powerful had appeared. If he meant Earth harm, no one could stop him.

"Don't worry. Judging by what this man has done so far, he isn't truly evil. There's no need for concern."

Kami leaned on his cane and spoke in a hoarse voice.

He believed Li Lin was a good person. From destroying Frieza to letting those aliens go, he hadn't acted like a villain.

Besides, even if this man were a terrible villain, what could they do?

All they could do was watch in silence and pray to heaven.

In Other World, on a small planet at the end of Snake Way.

The antennae on North Kai's head twitched rapidly, and his face was etched with tension.

Sweat poured from his forehead in large drops, like soybeans.

"Where did this person come from? How can he be so terrifyingly powerful?"

North Kai breathed unevenly, muttering to himself in alarm.
