Trunks' expression flickered slightly, then he relaxed, sneering, "Do you think such bluster is of any use?"
He did not believe there were any flaws in this state of his.
On the contrary, his body was now filled with explosive power; Cell would absolutely be unable to withstand it!
"Haa!"
With that, he let out a thunderous roar, and the energy radiating from his body surged once more.
His muscles instantly expanded another notch, making him look brimming with raw power.
"Heh!" Cell watched Trunks' power rise again and mocked, "Your strength has indeed surpassed mine, but you won't win like this."
"Tch!" Trunks didn't want to waste words with him; he just wanted to end the fight quickly.
He charged forward, and the two tangled together once more.
However, this time, Cell dodged and weaved with incredible agility.
In contrast, Trunks' countless attacks all missed, and he appeared incredibly cumbersome.
"Bang!"
Cell found an opening and slammed a fist into his abdomen.
"Cough, cough!" Trunks hacked up a mouthful of blood, stumbling back two steps in a hurry, his eyes filled with bewilderment.
Clearly, he still didn't know what had happened.
Why couldn't he land a single hit on Cell, yet Cell had seized the opportunity to strike him?
"Ah!" Unwilling to accept this, Trunks continued to raise his energy. Bolts of lightning appeared around his body, his strength climbed further, and his aura reached a truly terrifying level.
Cell looked at him, shook his head, and mocked, "It seems you still don't understand. In this state, you aren't even worth me using my full power!"
Trunks was stunned by the mockery; he truly didn't know where the problem lay.
Seizing this momentary lapse, Cell lunged forward.
By the time Trunks reacted, it was already too late.
A barrage of punches and kicks rained down upon him, leaving him with no room to counter.
"Bang!"
Cell struck his chest with a punch, sending him flying.
Trunks rose immediately, feeling deeply indignant, and prepared to engage again.
But the result was exactly the same as before; his attacks could not strike Cell.
The opponent, meanwhile, kept seizing the openings in his offense to strike back, leaving him utterly defeated.
"Boom!"
Cell fired another Ki Blast.
Trunks hurriedly raised his hands to shield himself.
His footing was chaotic, and he staggered back several paces.
The continuous fighting had drained his stamina, and he still couldn't fathom why he was unable to win despite having become so strong.
Cell watched his confused expression and, seemingly unwilling to end the fight too quickly, added with a hint of provocation, "I can actually transform into this state of yours, too!"
As he spoke, the rubble around him began to float, his energy condensed, and his muscles instantly expanded.
"This..." Trunks was too shocked to speak, for Cell's state was identical to his own.
Cell watched his astonishment, seemingly quite pleased with himself, and continued to strike at his confidence, "This transformation is meaningless. It only increases power; it provides no boost to speed, and even hinders it slightly."
"No matter how great the power, if you cannot hit your opponent, it is all in vain. I believe Vegeta understands this as well, which is why he didn't use this state to fight!"
Hearing this explanation, Trunks was left dumbfounded.
He had thought he had surpassed his father, keeping this state hidden and restrained for fear of wounding Vegeta's pride.
He just hadn't expected that he was the clown all along.
He had now lost the will to fight, for this transformation was his most powerful state; if he couldn't defeat Cell with it, he was nothing more than a lamb for the slaughter.
Seeing Trunks' dejected appearance, Cell shook his head slightly. "To be honest, I am very disappointed in both you and your father. I thought you might actually be able to give me a good time, but it turned out like this."
Watching his helpless expression, it seemed he had already forgotten how he had been beaten black and blue just moments before.
Trunks remained unresponsive to these words; the outcome was now set in stone, and there was no need to waste any more breath.
However, Cell continued to chatter, asking, "I am actually curious, how did you manage to improve so quickly in such a short time?"
"If I gave you more time, would you be able to grow even stronger?"
Hearing this, Trunks slowly raised his head and said in a voice devoid of emotion, "I am not sure if I can continue to grow stronger!"
Cell did not seem entirely satisfied with this answer.
However, he already had the answer in his heart: if he continued to give them time, they would likely be able to take another step forward.
"Where is Son Goku? Why hasn't he come?" Cell continued to question him, much like an interrogator questioning a prisoner.
He had arrived in this world, yet he had not caught a single glimpse of Son Goku.
He was filled with curiosity now, simply wondering how this guy's strength would compare to Vegeta's!
Trunks clenched his fists and said fiercely to Cell, "Mr. Goku is still training. When he finishes his training, that will be the moment you meet your end!"
Upon hearing this, Cell's eyes lit up.
Perhaps it was due to the Saiyan blood in his veins, but he suddenly became interested in this matter.
"Very good!" Cell nodded in satisfaction and held up a finger. "One last question: who was the person who just took Android 18 away, and what is his name?"
When Trunks heard Cell mention Li Lin, he instantly perked up.
He had been fighting Cell the entire time and had completely forgotten that there was such a powerhouse on Earth.
Li Lin's strength was unfathomable; no one had ever seen what he looked like when using his full power.
However, as long as he took action, there was absolutely still hope to defeat Cell and save the Earth.
"His name is Li Lin, and he is the strongest person on Earth. He lived in seclusion in the mountains before and only came out in recent years!"
Trunks said in a deep voice, a sense of confidence seemingly resurfacing in his eyes.
"Heh, the strongest." Cell sneered disdainfully. "If you can find him, tell him that the strongest on Earth is none other than me, Cell!"
He still had some doubts about Li Lin's identity.
If he were a reclusive master, why would the future world still be devastated by the Androids?
However, he did not want to think about that too much right now.
Rooted in his confidence in his own strength, even if the man were strong, so what? He had no reason to be afraid anymore.
Trunks was slightly stunned after hearing this, thinking to himself, What does Cell mean by this? Asking me to pass a message to Mr. Li Lin—could it be that he intends to let me go?
Before he could ponder it further, Cell continued, "I intend to hold the World Martial Arts Tournament. It begins in ten days, and the rules will be a gauntlet match; you can take turns challenging me!"
