Reconciliation

Everything had happened so suddenly.

Mo Yuan had seen how much stronger Lapis was than Son Goku, so after learning Instant Transmission, he hadn't paid much attention to their fight.

He hadn't expected Son Goku to pull out a move like that at the end.

It had completely caught them off guard.

Luckily, Lapis was all right.

Mo Yuan used Instant Transmission to appear beside Lapis.

Then he healed him with his healing technique.

There was no denying it: Son Goku's final attack had been vicious.

His power had surged to five billion for just five seconds, but that had still left Lapis badly injured.

Meanwhile, when Gohan and Trunks saw Son Goku fall, they hurried over.

They took out a Senzu Bean and fed it to Son Goku.

As soon as he ate it, Son Goku instantly sprang back to full health.

No matter how many times he saw it, Mo Yuan couldn't help marveling at how useful those things were.

No wonder they had arranged for Yajirobe to use up the Senzu Beans.

Otherwise, Son Goku and the others would each have a hundred or so tucked away, ready to pop one whenever they were about to die.

And when you added in the Saiyan trait of growing much stronger after recovering from near-death, what boss couldn't they defeat with ease?

Just like now.

After eating the Senzu Bean and recovering, Son Goku's normal power had risen from ten million to fifteen million.

It was downright ridiculous.

Mo Yuan's healing technique wasn't nearly as impressive as a Senzu Bean.

It took him about a minute to heal Lapis completely.

Seeing that Lapis still looked shaken, Mo Yuan draped an arm over his shoulder and teased him. "What? Did you get scared?"

"Please. Me, scared?" Lapis scoffed.

Then he added, clearly unconvinced, "Son Goku fought dirty and caught me off guard. If we'd gone head-to-head, I could've knocked his head sideways in a heartbeat."

"Sure, sure. Let's head back. Your sister was nearly scared out of her wits."

Mo Yuan brushed him off and pulled Lapis along.

The two siblings must have inherited their stubbornness.

Mo Yuan grumbled to himself.

Back at the Lookout, Lazuli carefully checked Lapis over.

He was her only family, after all. Of course she would worry when something like this happened.

"Lazuli, I'm fine. Mo Yuan already healed me." Lapis sounded impatient, but he cooperated as she examined him.

Since they were twins, Lapis had been born only a few minutes after Lazuli, so he wasn't in the habit of calling her "big sister." He just called her by name.

When they were younger, he had even often tried to turn the tables and become the older sibling.

Lazuli had always put a merciless stop to that.

Once he had fully recovered, Son Goku came over.

"What is it?" Mo Yuan asked.

Son Goku grinned. "We've settled our score, so now we're friends."

Mo Yuan and the two siblings immediately wore identical looks of confusion.

How had they become friends?

"Who said we were friends?" Lapis shot back.

"Aw, don't be like that!" Son Goku said with an awkward laugh, waving a hand.

"Let me introduce myself. I'm Son Goku."

Then he pointed to the two people beside him. "This is my son, Son Gohan, and this is Trunks."

He pointed to Vegeta in the distance. "And that's Vegeta."

Then he held out his right hand and looked intently at the three of them.

Mo Yuan glanced at Lazuli and Lapis. They both looked indifferent, leaving the decision to him.

Mo Yuan understood what they meant.

So he held out his own right hand and shook Son Goku's.

"I'm Mo Yuan. This is my girlfriend, Lazuli, and the one who just fought you is my brother-in-law, Lapis."

At Mo Yuan's introduction, Lazuli's pretty face turned a rare shade of red.

Trunks looked astonished. "Androids have names? Aren't you called Android 17 and Android 18?"

Lazuli and Lapis's expressions darkened at once.

"This is the last time. I don't want to hear you call them Androids again." Mo Yuan fixed Trunks with a cold stare.

"You probably don't know how they became Androids, do you?"

Mo Yuan then told them about Lazuli and Lapis's past.

After hearing the story, Trunks and Son Goku bowed sincerely to Lazuli and Lapis and apologized. "We're sorry!"

They had never imagined that the Androids had been made by modifying living human beings.

Trunks also learned that Lazuli and Lapis's humanity hadn't been completely erased because Dr. Gero had wanted to increase their power.

That was why they had killed Dr. Gero.

Trunks had once thought they were heartless for killing the man who had created them.

Now, he felt that Dr. Gero had deserved to die.

The Androids in the Future Timeline, on the other hand, had clearly had their humanity completely erased.

They spent every day delighting in slaughter.

Son Goku hadn't realized that his own mistake had caused so many people to die.

Even though he hadn't meant to do it, he still felt deeply ashamed.

Lazuli and Lapis said nothing, merely giving a snort.

From their reaction, Mo Yuan could tell they had forgiven them.

"By the way, A-Yuan, I heard them say you came out of an underground laboratory. Are you the one Dr. Gero made using our cells?" Son Goku asked curiously.

A-Yuan??

Mo Yuan gave Son Goku a strange look.

That was Son Goku for you.

So easygoing, he acted like they'd known each other forever.

"That's right." Mo Yuan didn't deny it and admitted it outright.

"That's amazing! I heard them say you were still a little kid a few days ago, and now you're so tall."

Son Goku gestured at Mo Yuan's height in amazement.

"But how come you look completely different from Cell?"

"Maybe I mutated."

Mo Yuan didn't elaborate.

"Mr. Mo Yuan, have you seen Cell?" Trunks asked urgently.

Mo Yuan nodded. "He came here once a few days ago. We drove him off."

"Do you know where he went?" Trunks stared at Mo Yuan tensely.

Mo Yuan shook his head. "No. I only saw him get into some strange machine, then disappear."

Trunks's pupils shook, and his whole body trembled.

The thing he feared most had still happened.

"Mom..."

Trunks looked as though his soul had left his body.

"No, I have to go back right now..."

The news made Trunks lose control.

His power flared, and he prepared to fly to West City.

"Trunks, calm down."

Son Goku held him back.

"Bulma hasn't repaired the Time Machine yet. Going back now wouldn't do any good. Go train with Vegeta in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber first. Once you're stronger, you'll be able to fight Cell."

"But... I'm scared... Mom is all I have... I can't lose her."

Trunks was in agony, and tears streamed down his face.
