Mo Yuan vs. Son Goku

Ever since Son Goku and the others arrived, the Lookout had become much livelier.

In the end, Trunks managed to suppress his impulse and entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Vegeta to train.

Vegeta had been beaten badly by Lapis twice in a row, and he'd been stewing over it ever since.

Before they went in, Mo Yuan handed the Gravity Chamber over to Trunks, returning it to its rightful owner.

As for how much he could get out of training in the Gravity Chamber, that was up to him.

(The Gravity Chamber is just a little bonus I gave the protagonist, so there's no need to get hung up on whether gravity can be increased inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. The protagonist is different from Son Goku and the others. The reason Son Goku and the others could grow so much stronger so quickly was that they'd spent years building up their strength. How much could someone who'd only just been born have built up?)

After Trunks and Vegeta entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, the others kept busy too.

Meanwhile, Mo Yuan taught Lazuli and Lapis Instant Transmission.

Lapis was extremely interested in Instant Transmission.

Even so, it was impressive. It meant Lazuli could incorporate Instant Transmission into her fighting style.

She didn't need to lock onto a spatial node by sensing someone's ki. As long as it was within her range, she could use Instant Transmission whenever she pleased.

Delighted with her new ability, Lazuli started zipping around for fun.

Watching Lazuli flash all over the Lookout, Lapis and Son Goku's family couldn't help showing their envy.

When Son Goku saw Lapis sparring with Mr. Popo, he couldn't sit still either.

He took the initiative and invited Mo Yuan to train with him.

Mo Yuan was curious to see how his fighting ability measured up against Son Goku's.

So he agreed without hesitation.

When everyone saw Mo Yuan and Son Goku getting ready to spar, they gathered around to watch.

The two squared off in midair.

Son Goku was still Son Goku.

He just couldn't shake his bad habit of testing his opponent.

Son Goku didn't transform right away. Since he didn't know how strong Mo Yuan was, he decided to test him first.

Mo Yuan's base battle power was 600 million.

Son Goku's base battle power, on the other hand, was only 15 million.

Every move Son Goku made seemed far too slow to Mo Yuan.

It felt like he was sparring with a newborn baby.

Mo Yuan swept Son Goku back with a kick. "Transform, Goku. There's no point in testing me like this."

"Haha, A-Yuan, you really are strong," Son Goku said with a laugh.

The test hadn't revealed how strong Mo Yuan was, but Son Goku felt he was probably close to his own strength after transforming.

"Brace yourself."

As he spoke, Son Goku's gaze turned fierce.

Golden energy swirled around him, and he instantly transformed into a Super Saiyan.

His battle power shot from 15 million to 750 million.

His terrifying aura burst forth without restraint.

Even Mo Yuan felt a little pressure.

"Ha!!"

Mo Yuan released his ki as well, a purple aura bursting from his body.

He unleashed his full battle power of 600 million.

His powerful aura matched Son Goku's.

"So strong!"

Mo Yuan's aura took Son Goku by surprise.

His battle power was clearly a little lower than Son Goku's, yet his aura was every bit as strong.

Their terrifying auras made the heavens and earth change color.

The bright sky was quickly covered by dark, rolling clouds.

"Bring it on!"

Mo Yuan shouted excitedly.

He loved this kind of fight.

When he fought Mr. Popo, he had to hold back, and Mr. Popo's combat instincts were so strong that Mo Yuan always felt constrained.

When he fought Lapis, Lapis's fighting skills were a cut below his. Unless Lapis used even more power, Mo Yuan could keep him on the back foot.

Son Goku was about as strong as Mo Yuan, but had more combat experience. That made him the perfect opponent.

Mo Yuan was just as quick to react, and immediately traded blows with Son Goku.

But the fighting skills Son Goku had honed through countless battles to the death were truly formidable.

He kept landing hits on Mo Yuan from tricky angles.

That was because Mo Yuan wasn't using the Mind's Eye.

Otherwise, with the Mind's Eye's insight, Son Goku wouldn't be able to hit him easily unless he moved too fast for Mo Yuan to dodge.

But Son Goku was surprised to find that Mo Yuan's fighting skills were improving at a terrifying rate.

At first, Son Goku could land five or six hits for every ten attacks. Now, he could only land one or two.

Mo Yuan was like a sponge, soaking up this precious combat experience.

"Ha!"

Mo Yuan drove an elbow toward Son Goku's chest.

Son Goku didn't dare take the blow head-on. He pressed one hand against Mo Yuan's arm and used the momentum to flip behind him.

Just as Son Goku was about to attack Mo Yuan's back,

a tremendous force whipped into him.

Mo Yuan's tail, thick as a heavy whip, slammed into Son Goku with terrifying force.

"Smack!"

Son Goku plunged from the sky like a meteor.

Just before he hit the Lookout, Son Goku tensed his whole body and stopped in midair as if he'd slammed on the brakes.

Once he'd steadied himself, Son Goku looked up and met Mo Yuan's gaze.

Their eyes blazed with boundless fighting spirit.

"Crack!"

Two invisible bolts of lightning shot from their eyes and collided.
