A desolate, uninhabited place, with only scattered clusters of rocky hills.
Spopovich and Yamu reached their destination and landed. The others following them did the same, hiding behind a small rocky hill for cover.
"There are people over there. Is that Babidi?"
"No."
"Huh, that's strange. It looks like someone's dug up the ground there again."
Son Goku and the Son Gohan who had caught up with him watched Spopovich and Yamu in confusion. The two stood there respectfully before a small hatch, barely tall enough for a person.
"So that's it. Babidi's spaceship is buried underground. No wonder we couldn't find it," Kibito gritted out through clenched teeth.
"Then Babidi must already know we've come to Earth," Supreme Kai said gravely. "Otherwise, he wouldn't have hidden his spaceship."
"Let's move before they use Gohan's energy to awaken Majin Buu," Trunks urged anxiously.
Supreme Kai stopped him. "There's no need to rush. To avoid damaging the spaceship, they'll surely awaken him outside. We'll wait and see what happens."
Son Gohan glanced around the spaceship. The ordinary Earthlings had already been slaughtered, their corpses strewn about. One woman had even been dismembered, and her lower half was nowhere to be seen.
Son Gohan clenched his teeth. Kind by nature, he hated people like this most of all.
"Someone's coming out," Piccolo whispered, drawing Son Gohan's attention back.
Two figures, one tall and one short, emerged from the tiny hatch. Both hovered in the air.
The tall figure wore a blue, low-cut top that showed off his powerful muscles, a strange belt around his waist, and a white cape. His skin was reddish, and his eyes had sharp, beastlike pupils.
The short one was using the Flight Technique to hover, but he still didn't reach the tall one's waist. He had mustard-yellow skin and a few sparse hairs on his head. Compared to the towering figure, he looked utterly pathetic.
What a loser. That was Son Goten's first impression of the short guy. Someone like him would definitely get cut in the first round of a job interview.
"Babidi actually managed to subdue the King of the Demon Realm," Kibito said, staring at the towering figure in shock.
"Dabura, how could he..." Supreme Kai gazed at the tall Dabura, his expression grim.
"Who's Dabura? The big guy?" Son Goku asked Supreme Kai in confusion, furrowing his brow.
"That's right," Supreme Kai replied. "He's the King of the Demon Realm. In this world, the strongest might be one of you. In the Demon Realm, the strongest is Dabura."
Vegeta: ...
"Then the little guy next to him is Babidi?" Son Gohan asked.
"Yes," Supreme Kai answered. "In terms of strength alone, he's truly no match for anyone. But his magic is what makes him so terrifying."
"Is his magic so powerful that even the King of the Demon Realm has submitted to him?" Piccolo asked in surprise.
Kibito rejected Piccolo's suggestion. "No. He may be able to manipulate others by exploiting the evil in their hearts. That's why only we righteous people can resist him."
Son Goten was thoroughly unimpressed by Kibito's answer. If Babidi was so powerful, why couldn't he control Majin Buu and had to treat Buu like royalty? And he'd failed to control Vegeta, too. As long as someone was strong enough, they could resist Babidi's control. Dabura was probably the limit of what he could control.
"But I never expected Dabura to be here. If Dabura and Babidi join forces..."
"You mean we're doomed?" Before Supreme Kai could finish, Vegeta scoffed. "I'll beat the hell out of a guy like that."
Outside the spaceship.
"Oh ho ho, excellent. There's so much energy in here." Babidi looked with satisfaction at the item in his hand and let out a shrill laugh.
"Yes!" Yamu replied, like a child receiving praise from an adult.
"With our power, a mission like this was ridiculously easy," Spopovich boasted. If Supreme Kai hadn't been holding Son Gohan back at the time, Spopovich would probably already be dead.
"Heh heh. Well, that means you're no use to me anymore." Like so many anime villains, Babidi spoke coolly. In his eyes, the two men before him were already dead.
"Huh?" The two idiots stared at him in shock.
Babidi's eyes bulged. Spopovich's body began to swell, then burst into a cloud of blood.
"No!" Yamu screamed and fled into the distance, as if he were a helpless girl about to be assaulted.
"Pui Pui, want to give it a try?" Babidi narrowed his eyes and spoke coolly, watching the direction Yamu had fled.
"Yes!" The alien who had been standing by the hatch from the start looked delighted. He raised his hand, took aim at Yamu, and fired an energy blast that streaked toward the fleeing man.
"Boom!"
The energy blast struck Yamu and killed him.
"Good shot," Babidi praised.
He actually had to aim? What a loser. Son Goten watched Pui Pui smugly and sneered. At this range, it took you that long to aim? I could've killed him without even aiming, you piece of trash.
