At the break of dawn, two blurred shadows darted through the jungle.

"Alright, Goten, right here will do," Son Gohan said, coming to a halt and waving him over.

"Got it," Son Goten stopped as well, facing his brother. Son Gohan gathered a handful of pebbles from the ground and drew a line in the dirt a short distance away.

"Come on, Goten, throw those stones at your big brother," Son Gohan said, having already changed into his blue training gi. He raised a hand and, with a "tuan" sound, transformed into a Super Saiyan.

"Okay," Son Goten picked up several stones and tossed one lightly. It whistled through the air like a cannonball toward Son Gohan. Gohan's eyes widened in shock; he tilted his head to dodge, but the stone, imbued with Goten's terrifying power, passed through the small mountain behind him without resistance, vanishing into the distance and leaving a hole the size of the pebble in its wake.

Son Gohan stared at Son Goten in disbelief. You guys are taking this a bit too far, aren't you? If I hadn't dodged in time, my face would be ruined.

"Wait a second, Goten," Son Gohan said, quickly stopping him as Goten prepared to throw another. Goten chuckled to himself, thinking, I only used the same amount of force as the original Son Goten did.

Son Gohan jogged to the other side and drew another line. "Alright, let's go, Goten."

"Here I come!" Son Goten tossed another stone tentatively, which Son Gohan easily dodged with a sway of his body.

Goten smirked, his hands blurring as he launched a barrage of pebbles with even greater force than before. Son Gohan dodged them all, but when Goten refused to give up and transformed into a Super Saiyan himself, the speed of the stones increased drastically.

"Nani?" Son Gohan gasped, his movements faltering for a split second, and he was struck by several of the stones. "Goten, how are you able to transform into a Super Saiyan?" he asked in astonishment.

"I learned it while playing with Trunks," Goten replied, scratching his head. This was a blow to Son Gohan's pride; he remembered how much he had suffered to achieve the transformation, yet Goten had done it so effortlessly. It was infuriating.

Still, Son Goten was puzzled. Why did Super Saiyans become so common during the Majin Buu arc? Trunks and he had achieved the form without any real combat experience, while Son Goku and the others had to endure immense hardship to reach it. Even Future Trunks had only unlocked it through the trauma of Son Gohan's death.

Could it be that the Super Saiyan trait is hereditary?

"Let's do this instead, Goten. You be my sparring partner," Son Gohan said, abandoning his original plan. It was better to train against each other than to do basic drills, especially since they were both Saiyans.

"Coming at you, big brother!" Son Goten giggled, darting forward like a nimble monkey and launching a sweep kick at Gohan. Gohan's instincts flared, and he raised his arms to block the blow.

"Ugh!"

The terrifying force behind Goten's leg made Gohan cry out in pain as he was sent flying. He hurriedly used the Flight Technique to stabilize himself. He had underestimated Goten and overestimated his own current strength.

"Goten, you're actually pretty strong," Son Gohan praised, pushing off the air to charge back at his brother, who was already in pursuit.

Goten swung his arms, his fists raining down like meteors, and Gohan countered with his own.

"BOOM."

"BOOM."

"BOOM."

"BANG."

The two became a blur of motion, the air echoing with the sound of their collisions. Every impact triggered a sonic boom. They fought from dawn until the sun hung high in the sky, only stopping when their stomachs began to protest.

"Goten, let's go home and eat," Son Gohan suggested.

Goten nodded, and the two used the Flight Technique to streak back home. However, the moment they arrived, Gohan saw something parked outside and remembered what he had forgotten.

"Crap, I forgot Videl was coming!" Gohan covered his face. It seemed that because he was so focused on his father's return, this had completely slipped his mind.

Goten looked at the aircraft in front of their house, then at his brother, and realized what had happened. He sighed internally. Man, I just wanted to get some serious training in these past few days.

He looked at his brother. I mean, you're a full-blown Super Saiyan, what are you afraid of? Why worry about some foolish Earthlings? You were the one who defeated Cell, yet you let some idiot take all the credit.

When was the peak of Earth's martial arts? The answer was the era of Son Goku and his companions—people capable of destroying the planet in minutes. And yet, because of that moron Satan, everyone believed "Ki" was just a parlor trick. Do you really think a parlor trick can make the Earth shake?

He wondered what the expression on those people's faces would be if they knew Satan was, at best, only slightly stronger than an average human. Just thinking about it was exciting.

Goten had already made up his mind: he would definitely tear off the mask of that clown, Satan. To be honest, the person Goten hated most in Dragon Ball was the lying, deceitful Satan. He bragged loudly in front of the public, but the moment he faced someone truly powerful, he turned into a coward, faking stomach aches and injuries. Why don't you just drop dead?

Right, in the story, the winner of the junior division at the World Martial Arts Tournament gets to challenge Satan. That's a perfect opportunity. If Trunks had hit a little harder in the original, that "World Champion" would have been finished.
