Knock... knock...! The sound of someone knocking reached Kangetsu's ears.
Kangetsu opened his eyes slightly, his bright gaze settling on the silhouette cast against the door.
He paused, then said, "Mother, what brings you here?"
Kangetsu sat up and studied the silhouette at the door. She knocked again, then asked, "Kangetsu, do you have a moment? I'd like to talk to you!"
Kangetsu paused. Faced with this mother who doted on him so much, he shook his head, then stood and opened the door. Looking at her, he said, "Mother!"
Kangetsu's mother, Eiko, stroked his head and walked inside. She immediately froze at the sight of the ninja tools on the table. A trace of sadness crept onto her previously smiling face!
Eiko went over to the table and set down the food she was carrying. "Kangetsu, come eat! I made your favorite squid today!"
As she called him over to eat, Kangetsu paused briefly, then walked straight to the table. He glanced at the dishes, picked up his chopsticks, and began eating as naturally as ever!
Eiko watched Kangetsu, the smile in her eyes gradually giving way to deeper and deeper sorrow. Watching him eat, she finally asked, unable to bear it, "Kangetsu, are you really going to duel and head onto the battlefield now? The Uchiha Clan does have a rule that no one who wishes to enter the battlefield may be stopped. But that rule was made for Uchiha who had lost the most important part of their lives and wanted nothing more than to die!
"But Kangetsu, you're only six! Just six years old-what skills do you have to survive? I know you're a genius, but even geniuses need time to grow! But at that moment, Kangetsu stopped eating and looked at his mother, Eiko. Beneath the coldness in his eyes lay a trace of warmth and gratitude! Even so, he shook his head.
There was no helping it. Kangetsu knew what this Warring States Period was like: the killing never stopped. And in the original story, when Uchiha Madara spoke with Senju Hashirama, Madara had said that he once had five brothers, but only one remained!
That meant Kangetsu and Meigetsu would die in the original story! Now, however, this Kangetsu was here. Still, he could not guarantee what the future would hold! That was why he had to work hard to grow stronger. After all, the more powerful he was, the safer he would be!
Kangetsu had originally wanted to keep training slowly like this, but things had not gone as he wished! His mental energy was so powerful that he did not dare extract too much chakra, or his body would break down completely! Strengthening his body was therefore his most urgent task!
