The Uchiha clan rules clearly stated that no one could stop a clan member from going to the battlefield. This rule had originally been intended for members of the Uchiha Clan who had lost the person they loved most and wanted only to die! Yet now it had become a reason for a six-year-old child to go to war!
But Kangetsu left without a backward glance, utterly carefree. All he left behind was a grieving family!
Uchiha Eiko, Kangetsu's mother, stared at Uchiha Tajima with a hint of murderous intent in her eyes and shouted, "Uchiha Tajima, listen to me. If anything happens to Kangetsu, I will never forgive you! All of this happened because of your damned pride as a father! Your son was too clever and wouldn't obey you, so you insisted on making him obedient. And look what you've done now-you've driven Kangetsu straight onto the battlefield! If Kangetsu really dies, I will kill you! I'll kill you, you irresponsible father!"
With that, Uchiha Eiko turned and walked straight toward Uchiha Madara and the other two boys! It seemed that she was not only grieving but afraid-afraid that something might happen to her other three sons as well!
Uchiha Tajima's eyes dimmed, and he clenched his fists tightly. Watching Kangetsu's departing back, he silently pleaded, You have to survive! You have to survive!
Tajima had done what he did yesterday mainly to teach Kangetsu a lesson. Otherwise, with that arrogant temperament of his, Kangetsu was bound to suffer badly someday! But he had never expected Kangetsu to demand to go to the battlefield! Tajima deeply regretted it now, and all he could do was watch Kangetsu in silence!
By then, Kangetsu had already reached the Uchiha Clan's gathering point! It was much like a mission hall! A large clan like the Uchiha was hired quite frequently. The countries that hired them varied in size, however. For a large country, they would send their best fighters, and sometimes even mobilize the entire clan! But for smaller battles, where the enemy had not hired a particularly powerful clan either, they would send weaker fighters!
Some small countries spent money to hire the Uchiha, while their enemies paid to hire the Senju. But given the size of the two countries, both clans would send lower-ranking members-for instance, if one sent genin, the other would send genin too! These were all unwritten rules of the Warring States Period, and no one dared break them lightly!
Kangetsu surveyed the somewhat disorderly, noisy hall, then turned his attention to the smaller countries. That was when he spotted a mission concerning the Land of Bing!
The Land of Bing was not far from the Uchiha clan grounds, probably somewhere near the Land of River in the original story! Its enemy was a country called the Land of Heart! And the ninja that country had hired belonged to the Hagoromo Clan!
When he saw the name Hagoromo Clan, Kangetsu immediately recalled what he knew about it. Judging by its name, the Hagoromo Clan could very well have descended from Otsutsuki Hamura. But according to the records kept by the Uchiha Clan, the clans descended from the brothers Otsutsuki Hagoromo and Otsutsuki Hamura were actually the Uchiha and Senju, who descended from Hagoromo, and the Uzumaki and Hyuga, who descended from Hamura!
