Background

Itachi is the eldest son of Uchiha Fugaku and was raised as the likely future Clan Head. Even as a child, he took his clan status seriously, intervening when Uchiha Ishi's group assaulted Qingfeng and insisting that clansmen should not prey on the weak 4.

Qingfeng's Three-Tomoe Sharingan initially draws Itachi's attention, as Itachi has few peers he considers capable of meaningful conversation.
