Bruce jolted awake from unconsciousness and found himself lying aboard a spaceship, leaving him thoroughly bewildered.
"Are you okay, Banner?"
William walked over and asked. After the Grandmaster had turned the Hulk back to normal, Bruce had remained unconscious until finally waking up completely now.
But the awakened Bruce felt awful. It seemed like he had been imprisoned somewhere dark for a very long time. He had called out in that place, but no one could hear his voice.
"William?" Bruce recognized Nova's form and knew that the sniper before him was William.
"Bruce, do you remember what happened before?" William asked.
At William's words, Bruce immediately sank into his memories. He still remembered the Avengers' civil war. He had originally wanted to stop Iron Man and the Hulk from fighting, but once he transformed into the Hulk, he could no longer control himself.
After the civil war, he began blaming himself. He worried that he might hurt the other Avengers and felt that the Hulk was a terrifying danger to Earth.
So, one night, he left Avengers Headquarters and went out for a ride to clear his head. But what he had not expected was that the Grandmaster came.
"I think I was attacked by some strange alien," Bruce answered.
"Banner." William's expression turned serious. "The Avengers' civil war was almost a year ago. Too many things have happened during that time."
"A year ago?" Bruce looked shocked. "You mean I was the Hulk for the entire past year?"
"I'm afraid so." William spread his hands.
