Heading to Route 66

The Quinjet sped through the sky. In order to find the missing William as quickly as possible, Eve was working hard to investigate clues and piece together the truth. Iron Man had even given her access to Friday's permissions.

"Friday, please display a 3D virtual image of Earth," Eve said.

A flash of blue light appeared, and a massive virtual image materialized before her. It was a full view of Earth: blue oceans, green landmasses, and white clouds.

The Avengers had no idea what she intended to do. Tony's brow furrowed even deeper. Eve continued, "Friday, mark every location where world projections have appeared with red points of light."

"Please wait. Marking..."

Across the virtual image of Earth, red points of light appeared over China, Russia, South Korea, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany... even distant Antarctica.

"Starting with the point in Wakanda, connect all the points in order from nearest to farthest," Eve said with a serious expression.

All the points representing world projections connected, forming a vast red region. The places within that red region were where mirages now existed, and the affected area covered nearly more than 80% of the globe.

"Friday, bring up the images of the two world projections over the United States," Eve said in a low voice.

Two illusory images immediately appeared. World projections had emerged over many countries around the globe, but the United States was unique in having two.

One was in Hollywood, outside the famous American city of Los Angeles. The other was located along Route 66, which crossed eight American states.

Tony stroked his chin. He roughly understood what Eve was doing.

"Have you noticed? These world projections are very unusual," Eve asked.
