Xiao Yao spent his early childhood reading, studying, and training. For more than three years, he shared this routine with Bibi Dong after she was brought from the Spirit Hall orphanage to serve as his maid; he treated her as an equal in food, clothing, and daily care rather than according to her former status. 1

At his martial soul awakening, Xiao Yao was revealed to possess level-20 innate soul power and the Golden Lion Mastiff martial soul. His grandfather, Lion Douluo, identified this as potential to become a god. Xiao Yao also disclosed his innate Dominance Domain. 3

Qian Daoliu recognized Xiao Yao's extraordinary potential after testing his combat power. He accepted Xiao Yao as his disciple, named him Spirit Hall's Holy Son, ordered titled elders to protect him continuously, and placed Spirit Hall's resources at his disposal. 6
