Life is full of disparities.

Hearing Goku's confusion, Master Roshi said, "Are you talking about Chi-Chi? I'm going to take her as my disciple."

Son Goku was stunned. "Take her as a disciple?"

Master Roshi nodded. "That's right. You are Son Gohan's grandson, and since Gohan entrusted me with your training, I agreed to take you on. It just so happened that the Ox-King came to visit me a couple of days ago, and I saw his daughter. Her aptitude and temperament seemed quite good, so I got the idea to take her as a student. Your grandfather Gohan and her father, the Ox-King, were both my disciples; I couldn't very well favor one over the other by taking you but not her."

Goku paused, seemingly understanding how things had turned out. However, this had already deviated severely from the trajectory of history. He had intended to stay away from Chi-Chi, yet he never expected her to come here to train together. Wouldn't their relationship just grow closer and closer? In his past life, he had been a bit of a social recluse, somewhat insecure and terrified of being scolded by others. Since being reborn into this world, he had actually improved quite a bit, but the image of the adult Chi-Chi from the original story constantly berating Goku still sent shivers down his spine. Still, he had no way to refuse her coming to train with them. Fortunately, little Chi-Chi's personality was quite likable. Goku could only blame this on the damned butterfly effect.

Master Roshi continued, "Oh, right, I even had the father and daughter go look for you! But it turns out you came here yourself. From now on, you two are fellow disciples, so make sure to be united and friendly."

Son Goku nodded in response. "Understood, Master Roshi!"

Just then, the Ox-King and Chi-Chi landed smoothly. They stepped off the plane and walked toward the three of them. Chi-Chi, in particular, had a brilliant smile on her face as she trotted all the way over to Goku. Her smile was so sweet it could melt ice, making her already adorable cheeks look even more radiant. Krillin stared at Chi-Chi, nearly losing his soul. He immediately stepped forward to strike up a conversation. "Hello, I'm Krillin!"

However, Chi-Chi completely ignored Krillin and walked right up to Goku. "Goku, so you were here! I've been looking for you for days!"

Seeing that Chi-Chi had turned a deaf ear to him and even bypassed him to find Goku, Krillin awkwardly scratched his head. Yet, seeing such a beautiful girl suddenly acting so sweetly toward Goku, his heart gave a sharp pang, as if he had taken ten thousand points of critical damage.

Chi-Chi greeted Goku, and Goku replied very politely, "You've worked hard!"

"It's no trouble at all! I'm very happy to be able to do something for you!"

Chi-Chi moved even closer to Goku, her eyes sparkling as she looked at him, her face full of anticipation as if waiting for his praise. Goku only returned the smile, yet Chi-Chi felt an immense sweetness. Watching this scene from the side, Krillin once again felt the disparity of life.

Just then, a light cough from Master Roshi came from not far away.

"Ahem, ahem, ahem..."

"Alright, alright, that makes three of you now."

"Then let the apprenticeship examination begin."

"Only by successfully completing my task will the three of you be formally accepted into my school."

Chi-Chi looked at Master Roshi with a face full of curiosity and asked, "Master Roshi, what is the apprenticeship examination?"

Master Roshi's old face flushed red. "Chi-Chi, you're a girl, so you don't need to participate in the examination. Just go over there and rest."

Chi-Chi was stunned for a moment, then muttered, "Is it because I'm cuter that I don't have to take the test?"

She said to Master Roshi, "Thank you, Master, hee hee hee!"

Then she looked at Goku and shouted, "Goku, you have to do your best!"

After saying that, little Chi-Chi, with a blushing face, trotted off to rest under the shade of a tree.

Master Roshi then looked at the Ox-King.

"Alright, leaving Chi-Chi with me is fine, but you should go now too. Don't interfere with my teaching!"

The Ox-King immediately nodded and replied respectfully, "Yes, Master Roshi!"

In the past, Master Roshi had been very serious and could even ride the Flying Nimbus.

It was only after his retirement, having watched too many yoga videos, that he gradually became lecherous.

Regardless, in the eyes of Gohan and the Ox-King, Master Roshi remained a noble, immortal-like existence.

Soon, the Ox-King took off in his plane.

On Kame Island, aside from Master Roshi and the Sea Turtle, only Goku, Krillin, and Chi-Chi remained.

With Chi-Chi sent to the side, Master Roshi finally explained the requirements to Goku.

Krillin raised a doubt.

"Is it because Chi-Chi is a cute girl that she doesn't have to complete the task?"

Master Roshi's expression turned cold.

"She's just a little kid, not the type I like! I prefer the kind you see in those magazines you gave me."

Krillin had a sudden realization.

"Oh, oh, oh! So the Master likes mature, sexy older women!"

Master Roshi's old face turned red. "As long as you know. In the face of sexiness, cuteness is not worth mentioning."

Krillin nodded, then looked at Goku. "That makes sense. Let's go then!"

"Yeah!"

Goku hopped onto the Flying Nimbus, and Krillin jumped on as well.

Unfortunately, Krillin slipped right through and fell to the ground.

Master Roshi's expression tightened.

"Hmm, you actually fell off."

"Those with impure hearts cannot ride the Flying Nimbus. It seems your motivation for learning martial arts is impure! You might as well leave!"

Krillin immediately panicked and explained, "No! Master Roshi, don't send me away. I just want to master powerful martial arts so that girls will like me."

Master Roshi scratched his head.

It seemed this guy didn't understand what girls liked at all.

Not being liked by girls wasn't because one's martial arts weren't strong enough.

It was because he had no money, wasn't handsome, and wasn't tall...

Looking at Krillin, who not only had all those flaws but also lacked hair and a nose, Master Roshi sighed.

"Seeing as you traveled thousands of miles to get here, it wasn't easy. I'll take you in!"

"Alright, stop wasting time. You and Goku should head out now!"

"Thank you, Master Roshi!"

Krillin couldn't ride the Flying Nimbus.

In order to tag along and search for a sexy beauty, he came up with a plan: he tied himself to Goku with a rope so he could be carried along.

And so, Goku took off from Kame House with Krillin on his back, riding the Flying Nimbus.

As Goku cruised along on the Flying Nimbus searching for Launch, Krillin was busy scanning the area, looking for a beautiful, mature, and sexy girl.

Because they were specifically looking for Launch, they soon found a lead.

A moment later, the sound of heavy machine-gun fire reached their ears.

"Rat-tat-tat-tat, bang, bang, bang..."

"Pew, pew, pew..."

Goku's eyes lit up.

Gunfire—that had to be Launch!

He immediately steered the Flying Nimbus, carrying them both toward the sound.

Within a few short breaths, Launch's figure came into view.

She was kneeling on the ground, looking somewhat disheveled and wearing an expression of pure innocence.
