Background / History
The Chat Group contacted Bai Xuan after detecting his awakened consciousness and invited him to join. It stated that it had not caused his transmigration; rather, it had detected the “Earth” fantasy keyword and sought an individual with high destiny. Because Bai Xuan's planet had no clearly distinguished individual, it reached an agreement with Earth Consciousness and initiated a Reiki Revival to identify a candidate. Bai Xuan awakened the Nature Authority and was selected as the person with the strongest destiny on Earth. 2 1669
Its assessment of Bai Xuan was anomalous: despite identifying him as a transmigrator and selecting him for his destiny, it found his destiny no different from that of an ordinary passerby. The Chat Group explicitly described this result as puzzling. 2
Upon accepting the invitation, Bai Xuan received the group name Son of Nature. The Chat Group assigns such names from a member’s information and announces new arrivals to all members through its mechanical “Ding” notifications. 2
The system began in a limited state, initially possessing only the Red Packet function. It expands as membership and activity thresholds are met, periodically unlocking functions or presenting several possible functions for the members to vote on. 7 12 60 1376 1682 1738
Membership and Selection
- The Chat Group selects members based on their destiny or fortune within their worlds; members are generally treated as protagonists or important supporting figures rather than random individuals. 2 1573
- It normally invites only one member from a given world, preventing hostile figures from that same world from later becoming fellow members protected by group rules. 1039
- Each new member receives basic information about the Chat Group directly in their mind upon joining. 3 1637
- New members can examine group files and Memory Copies—records presented as anime, television, or similar media—to confirm the existence of other worlds and learn their likely futures. 2 82 1039
- Invitation timing is unpredictable. The Chat Group may add several members at once, or invite newcomers while existing members are carrying out missions. 238 1191 1687
- The Chat Group’s selection activity can affect worlds directly. Its Reiki Revival of Bai Xuan’s Earth was performed specifically to create conditions for selecting a suitable member. 2 1669
Functions & Operations
| Function | Operation |
|---|---|
| Red Packets | The initial group function. Possesses basic optimization capabilities, converting an ability’s energy consumption into the recipient’s native energy system, provided the recipient has sufficient energy or stamina. 7 |
| Group Check-in | Grants 1–10 Points per daily check-in. 12 |
| Group Lottery | Costs 1,000 Points per draw; its random prize pool includes items from members’ worlds. It can award items as extreme as character templates. 12 14 |
| Group Pawn / Recycle | Converts permanently or temporarily pawned items into Points. Intelligent creatures cannot be pawned while possessing a resistant consciousness; unredeemed temporary pawns enter the lottery pool. 12 |
| Group Mall | Provides purchasable items, abilities, bloodlines, techniques, and templates from connected worlds. Purchases are integrated safely enough to give recipients the basic physique needed for the acquired ability, unless an item’s own explicit restrictions apply. 1274 1563 |
| Group Livestreaming | Enabled after the non-owner membership count exceeded ten. 60 |
| Group Activity | Tracks activity thresholds that govern later function unlocks. 60 1376 1738 |
| Virtual Combat Function | Creates a Virtual Battle Arena where members can spar without fighting in their home worlds. 116 1669 |
| Point Enhancement Function | Allows Points to enhance abilities, bloodlines, talents, physiques, and Statuses. Its success rate is uncertain and can be low. 116 120 |
| Transmigrator Missions | Generated when a transmigrator or Rule-Level Item is detected in a member’s world. Missions specify difficulty, participants, objectives, and rewards; rewards are calculated from individual contribution. 149 157 644 |
| Rule-Level Item Recycling | Recycles systems and other Rule-Level Items carried by transmigrators, then distributes additional rewards according to contribution. 157 644 795 |
| Myriad Worlds Drift Bottle | A drift-bottle function unlocked through activity. 185 |
| Privacy Protection Mode | Enabled after Ainz raised the need for privacy protection. 294 |
| Life Game | One of three functions unlocked alongside the Task Function and Heavens Drift Bottle. 598 |
| Play Mode | Lets members travel to other members’ worlds for leisure without Travel Talismans or damage concerns. It cannot be used during missions and does not allow Points to be earned in the visited world. 1376 |
| Fate Roulette | Lets a member gamble an ability on a roulette: red enhances it, while black weakens it. 1682 |
| World Fusion | Can merge different members’ worlds, increasing world level, world limits, and cultivation ceilings; the members may choose whether their home planets merge. 1682 |
| World Protection | Reinforces a world’s barrier in coordination with its World Consciousness, blocking outsiders who are not group members. 1738 |
| Member-Posted Tasks | Allows members to post their own missions and fund the rewards themselves; the Chat Group takes no fee. 1739 |
Cross-World Adaptation
The Chat Group can convert members’ powers so they conform to the rules of an Otherworld, allowing them to retain their combat ability when traveling beyond their native worlds. It identifies this as a basic function. 224
Its Group Mall synchronizes with connected worlds: when a world becomes available, its purchasable items—including cultivation techniques—are added to the catalog. Items already listed in the Mall may still be recycled for Points. 1563
Missions and Rewards
Transmigrator Missions are triggered by threats associated with transmigrators and Rule-Level Items. The first documented mission concerned a demon from a high-level Otherworld descending into Lin Fengjiao’s world with a Rule-Level Item intended to slaughter all recognized intelligent life on the planet. 149
Mission rewards can include Points, enhancement attempts, special items, and rewards gained from recycling the target’s Rule-Level Item. The Chat Group calculates each participant’s contribution separately; during the first mission, Bai Xuan received 97% of the reward after contributing 97% to the battle. 157
The Chat Group can recycle a Rule-Level Item without killing its host if the host does not resist. In that case, the mission reward is distributed equally among the participating members. 320
Mission difficulty is not treated as a simple measure of an enemy’s visible combat strength. Members have questioned whether a low-level target may possess hidden power, powerful summons, or an unknown Rule-Level Item capable of raising the true danger. 913
Rules and Safeguards
- No harm between members — A group member may not harm another group member in any way. The prohibition applies even if both parties consent and even to unintended harm. 985
- Rescue Missions — The Chat Group can warn a member in advance of a fatal threat and issue a Rescue Mission, allowing other members to intervene. 1186 1204 1508
- Information concealment — Members may discuss the group with trusted people, but directly naming the “Chat Group” prevents outsiders from hearing the disclosure. Members can instead describe it as another organization or faction. 1204
- Rule-Level Item restraint — During missions, World Wills may restrain invading Rule-Level Items. The Chat Group can intervene when such restraints are insufficient. 1543
- World-bound travel scope — The Chat Group may distinguish locations as separate worlds according to the Group Owner’s perception; for example, Xiao Yan’s accessible world initially encompasses only the Dou Qi Continent rather than the later Great Thousand World. 1476
Group Owner Privileges
Su Yunqing became Group Owner because she was the first member, but the position grants limited authority. She has a purchase discount, yet initially lacked the ability to invite or remove members and could even be muted by the Chat Group. 2 150 400
At least during the early Transmigrator Mission system, direct inquiries to the Chat Group were restricted to the Group Owner; Bai Xuan had to ask Su Yunqing to submit questions on his behalf. 149
The Group Owner does not receive guaranteed mission participation. Mission slots are selected by the Chat Group, and Su Yunqing has repeatedly been excluded despite her title. 1695 1532
Known Limitations
- The Chat Group’s early state lacked many expected functions, including full optimization and broader exchange options. 7
- Enhancement is not guaranteed; stronger or more foundational targets can have lower success rates. 120 1249
- Points accelerate growth, but members eventually encounter the inherent limits of their chosen systems and worlds. 120 1507 1581
- The Chat Group’s ultimate purpose, upper limit, and potential enemies remain unknown. Members have speculated that it may grow by recycling Rule-Level Items, but this has not been confirmed. 1543 1907
