Ye Anyuan is Ye Wudao's ancestor and the Divine Dragon Venerable, recognized as one of the ten great experts of the Spirit Realm. He resides in the East Heavenly Domain and holds sufficient standing within the Azure Sect for his residence to be known as the Divine Dragon Mansion. 112 122 He ascended to the Spirit Realm roughly 1,500 years before Ye Wudao's arrival and rapidly became a core figure of the East Heavenly Domain. 115 129

His reputation was established through both his Divine Dragon Bloodline and his Slaughter Great Dao. He is ranked among the top three of the Spirit Realm's ten great experts and is regarded as the number one person of the East Heavenly Domain. During the war between the East and Central Heavenly Domains, he invaded the Central Heavenly Domain's base by himself and slaughtered numerous Great Vehicle Realm cultivators, forcing the opposing side to shift to defense and accept a truce. 112 120 148

When the Heaven Gate Sect is besieged over Ye Wudao, Ye Wudao reaches him through their shared Divine Dragon Bloodline. Ye Anyuan confirms the connection and immediately comes to aid his descendant. 116 117 His arrival disperses True Person Spirit Cloud's forces and decisively changes the confrontation around the sect's protection array. 119

After meeting Ye Wudao, he brings him and several companions to the East Heavenly Domain. Ye Anyuan is proud, domineering, and direct. His first appearance before the Heaven Gate Sect's enemies frightens opposing cultivators, while his demand that Ye Wudao come out reflects his commanding manner. 119

He is also decisive and ruthless toward enemies.
