Background / History

Qingxiaozi guarded the Third Sea Eye for the Heavenly Court's Water Department for two thousand years. During this tenure, he maintained the Sea-Suppressing Array through spiritual-tide backlashes and demonic-tide assaults while the Water Department's officials and the Dragon Clan avoided the post. The prolonged duty left him with accumulated hidden injuries. 11 12

When the Jie Sect recalled its disciples to Golden Turtle Island, Qingxiaozi formally handed over the formation map, command token, and records of the Sea Eye's changes before departing. The Heavenly Court's replacement officials failed to control the site; after forcibly activating the formation, seven Water Department officials died. The Water Department then accused Qingxiaozi of deliberately providing faulty diagrams. 10 11

Qingxiaozi was pursued by Water Department Divine General Xuan Lang but obeyed Zhao Xuan's order not to resist, refusing to give the Heavenly Court grounds to charge the Jie Sect with defiance. Zhao Xuan subsequently produced four jade slips proving Qingxiaozi's proper handover, service record, and injuries, forcing Xuan Lang to retreat. 11 12

The dispute became the first entry in Zhao Xuan's broader accounting of the Heavenly Court's debts to Jie Sect disciples. Qingxiaozi gradually ceased hiding behind others and gained the confidence to stand for himself as the evidence of his service was made public. 13

Personality

Qingxiaozi is dutiful and restrained. He endured two millennia at the Third Sea Eye without complaint because he believed he was preserving the stability of the Three Realms. 11

He is deeply loyal to the Jie Sect and concerned about burdening it; after Zhao Xuan defended him, his first concern was whether he had brought trouble to the sect. Even when confronted by Xuan Lang, he suppressed the urge to draw his sword and followed his senior brother's instructions. 11 12

Return to the Third Sea Eye

When the Sea Eye spiraled out of control and Xuan Lang was swept into it, the Heavenly Court had no viable replacement and sought Qingxiaozi's aid again. Haotian's sealed petition recognized Qingxiaozi's merit and granted him authority to command the formation; Qingxiaozi then stabilized the Sea Eye while refusing responsibility for failures caused by the Water Department or Dragon Palace. 15 19 21
