Guangchengzi argues that divine positions and the Investiture of the Gods should be decided by the Sages and the Heavenly Court, accusing Zhao Xuan and the Jie Sect of using the East Sea disaster to demand divine positions ahead of time 17.

When the Three Steles send the fire patterns from Biyun Boy and Chentang Pass toward Kunlun, Guangchengzi meets them with Chijingzi and other Golden Immortals. Guangchengzi raises his hand toward the decree, but Zhao Xuan warns him not to erase it because doing so would force the fire in Taiyi’s palm to surge back. Exposure of the Predetermined List

Guangchengzi witnesses the magical documents expand into the Investiture of the Gods List and reveal that the Jie Sect’s Ten Thousand Immortals were designated to fill its quotas. He and Chijingzi lower their heads when the list states that it was deliberated in Zixiao Palace and that all Sages knew 110 111.
