Physical Description
Tianlu is a Pixiu, an auspicious beast of heaven and earth, whose physical form blends features from multiple mythological beings. He possesses the head of a dragon, the body of a lion, the claws of a tiger, and the antlers of a deer, with a pair of wings sprouting from his back 1. His frame is massive and sturdy, with a particularly large belly, and his body is covered in golden scales that, at full size, resemble rolling mountain ranges 1 28. Despite his fierce appearance, he exudes an aura of immense wealth and prosperity 1. He has a mouth but no anus, which is integral to his nature as a creature that only takes in and never lets out 1 9. His true form can vary dramatically in scale: at rest he may be the size of a calf, but by deploying his innate Size Manipulation ability he can shrink to the dimensions of a house cat or expand into a million-foot-tall behemoth that blots out the sun and sky 3 9 28.
Although Tianlu ordinarily refuses to abandon his comfortable Pixiu form, he can use the Law of Creation to assume an Innate Dao Body when circumstances require it. His transformed appearance is initially androgynous and difficult to distinguish as male or female; in later periods, he appears as a strikingly handsome man in white robes threaded with gold 121 143 193.
- Hybrid Anatomy: Dragon head, lion body, tiger claws, deer antlers, and wings on his back 1.
- Coloration and Texture: Covered in golden scales that are compared to mountain ranges when he is at full size 28.
- Scale Variability: Can shift from a calf-like size to a million-foot-tall form using the Size Manipulation divine ability; also capable of shrinking to the size of a house cat 3 9 28.
- Innate Dao Body: Can transform through Creation law, though he considers walking on two legs weaker and less comfortable than his natural form 121. He later assumes human form while accompanying Changxi and Xihe, whose true forms are Lunar Jade Rabbits 193.
- Belly and Internal Space: His large belly contains a unique internal world formed by the intertwining of the Law of Space and the Law of Devouring, used to store and transform swallowed treasures. The Chaos Bead entered this space while Tianlu slept, and he later discovered that he had accidentally swallowed the Three Clouds as well 2 3 13 85 86.
- No Anus: Possesses only a mouth for intake, with no excretory orifice, reflecting his nature of never letting anything go 1.
- Aura: Radiates an indescribable auspicious aura of immense wealth and prosperity 1.
- Strength and Defenses: His physical body is extremely resilient, able to withstand a Geng Metal Streamer capable of tearing an ordinary Primordial Unity Golden Immortal without damage 9.
Abilities and Powers
Transformation of Treasures
As the first Pixiu, Tianlu possesses an innate ability that defies the fundamental rules of the Primordial World: he can transform acquired treasures into innate ones. This ability ignores the standard hierarchy of spiritual artifacts and directly upgrades the grade and nature of any object he has refined. For example, he once grabbed a ball of ordinary Nine Heavens Clear Qi, condensed it into a low-tier acquired dharma treasure, and then used his innate ability to elevate it into a mid-grade innate spiritual treasure radiating pure innate spiritual light 1. The same principle applies to spiritual roots and herbs: when swallowed into his belly space, the combined effects of the Law of Creation and the Law of Devouring crush and nourish them, reversing their nature from acquired to innate and continuously improving their grade 22. Any spiritual root, regardless of its original quality, will eventually transform into a true innate spiritual root over time 9.
Applications:
- Creates innate spiritual treasures from common materials, bypassing the need to find naturally occurring treasures.
- Upgrades the grade of captured spiritual roots, making them valuable for cultivation and alchemy.
- Can be used to produce a steady supply of mid-grade or even higher innate treasures.
- Refines living innate beings and supplementary heavenly treasures into powerful artifacts, as demonstrated when he refined the Innate Yin-Yang Flood Dragon into the Golden Dragon Shears 126.
- Uses refined pills to awaken the intelligence of Numinous Treasures and allow them to transform into Innate Dao Bodies, a phenomenon normally forbidden by the Heavenly Dao 150 158 171.
Limitations:
- The transformation process requires time—acquired roots become innate only after extended fermentation inside his belly space 9.
- The ability is not instantaneous; it relies on the internal workings of his space and the assimilation of Creation energy.
- It does not directly apply to already innate supreme treasures or artifacts with fixed destinies (e.g., the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus required external refinement).
Fortune and Luck Manipulation
Tianlu’s second innate divine ability grants him authority over the fortune and luck of the world, making him the embodiment of prosperity. He can control the flow of luck, bestow blessings, and even strip the destiny from other beings. This power operates at a conceptual level, allowing him to override the intentions of the Heavenly Dao itself. During Hongjun’s sermon to three thousand innate divinities, Tianlu manipulated the massive threads of luck that were meant to flow toward the Saint, pulling them back and preventing their harvest 43. He can also reduce the luck of any individual to negative values by following causal threads, as he did to all the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals (except those he favored) before the Purple Heaven Palace gathering, causing them immense misfortune and stalling their progress 36 37. The most extreme use of this ability is the supreme divine ability to alter the River of Fate directly, which consumes immense origin power and forced him into a 10,000-year slumber. After that experience, he vowed to reserve such drastic measures only for life-or-death situations or exceptionally valuable targets 2.
Tianlu later escalated this authority into direct interference with racial fortune. He prevented the fortune of both the Witch and Demon Races from condensing into Rivers of Destiny, causing the Demon Race's gathered fortune to collapse and disappear 59. He can tear open the River of Fate for others to observe the destinies of tribes and the black clusters of Karmic Retribution beneath it 61. His control became so decisive that Di Jun and Taiyi had to negotiate and pay heavily for the Demon Race to gather its Law of Fortune, ultimately accepting Tianlu's demand for half of the Demon Race's fortune 87 94.
Tianlu also uses the Law of Luck to sustain and strengthen the Chaos Bead's myriad worlds. By following karmic connections throughout the Primordial World, he extracts luck from living beings and channels it into the Chaos Bead, providing power for its operation 116.
Applications:
- Bestows prosperity and blessings on allies, increasing their fortune and opportunity.
- Strips the luck of enemies, causing them to encounter disasters, failed cultivation, or death.
- Tugs and holds luck in place, preventing others (even Saints) from harvesting it.
- Alters the River of Fate for a massive, decisive shift in destiny (at great cost).
- Prevents races from gathering or establishing their Law of Fortune.
- Bestows the Qi of Fortune and Prosperity upon disciples, allowing them to develop their Law of Fortune and eventually comprehend Great Dao laws 94 124.
- Powers the Chaos Bead's internal worlds by extracting and integrating the luck of its participants 116.
Limitations:
- Large-scale manipulation of fate drains origin power heavily; the River of Fate alteration cost a tenth of his lifespan in sleep 2.
- The ability appears to be limited by the Great Dao’s favor—the Heavenly Dao cannot directly counter it, but prolonged or excessive use may attract backlash from cosmic balance.
- It is not absolute against beings with equally profound fortune or those under the direct protection of the Great Dao.
Passive Protective Misfortune
Tianlu possesses a conceptual passive ability that activates automatically against any being that harbors hostility or killing intent toward him. This power functions as a causality weapon: once an enemy forms a causal thread through intent, the ability reverse-infuses the ultimate Law of Misfortune along that connection, causing the attacker to suffer bizarre, logic-defying calamities. Instances include a Golden Immortal remnant beast whose mana reversed and exploded it into blood mist just before it could pounce, and an early Primordial Unity Golden Immortal ferocious bird that encountered a freak Nine Heavens Astral Wind mid-dive, shredding its wings and sending it to its death 2. The Purple Heaven Divine Lightning summoned by the Heavenly Dao itself to destroy Tianlu consistently veered away from him, missing entirely or striking the ground instead 5. When multiple Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals, including the Three Pure Ones and Taiyi, attacked Tianlu to claim the Xiantian Gourd Vine, Purple Heaven Divine Lightning struck the attackers themselves, severely weakening Taiyi after two strikes 49. This protection stems from Tianlu’s status as a Child of the Great Dao; the Great Dao’s passive favor ensures that any force that directly threatens him violates the Great Dao’s will and is punished 6 19.
The later actions of the Heavenly Dao confirm that this protection is not merely Tianlu's own interpretation. Hongjun explicitly identifies Tianlu as a Pet of the Great Dao protected by the Heavenly Dao, while other mighty figures recognize that attempting to seize his dojo or opportunities invites divine punishment 70 82.
Applications:
- Provides near-immunity to direct attacks from beings of any cultivation level, as long as they intend harm.
- Turns enemy aggression back on themselves without Tianlu having to expend energy.
- Works even against the Heavenly Dao’s execution mechanisms, forcing the Heavenly Dao to use indirect means (like offering opportunities) rather than lethal force.
Limitations:
- The ability is purely passive and cannot be consciously directed or deactivated.
- It may not protect against indirect harm or accidents not linked to hostile intent.
- Extremely powerful beings with their own Great Dao protection (e.g., other Children of the Great Dao) might be able to bypass or resist the effect, though no such case is shown.
Law of Devouring and Internal World
Tianlu’s belly contains a unique internal world formed by the intertwining of the Law of Space and the Law of Devouring. This space is capable of carrying all things in the Primordial World and isolating them from all heavenly detection 3. It is not a mere storage vessel but an active domain where the Law of Devouring can be applied to consume and assimilate external matter and energy. Tianlu uses this ability to devour spiritual roots, mountains, and even Xiantian Arrays. He once consumed an entire Xiantian Array to break it and assimilate its power and Primordial Dao Rhythm 11. On Mount Buzhou, he transformed into a million-foot-tall Pixiu and opened his abyss-like maw, devouring mountains and spiritual energy wholesale, leaving the land desolate 28. Inside the belly space, the Law of Creation complements the devouring, reversing the nature of swallowed spiritual herbs from acquired to innate 22. The space also serves as a perfect hiding place for treasures he does not want the Heavenly Dao to detect.
The Chaos Bead entered this internal world while Tianlu slept, rather than being newly discovered after the Xiantian Gourd Vine incident 2. Tianlu later used the bead's internal world to establish myriad worlds and schemes involving Grandmist Purple Qi. When more than a thousand Quasi-Sage mighty figures jointly attacked his disguised divine soul within the Chaos Bead, he used the bead's authority and the Law of Devouring to absorb their combined attack 116 121.
Applications:
- Devours spiritual energy, terrain, and arrays to absorb their power and Dao insights.
- Stores and transforms countless spiritual roots and treasures beyond normal spatial capacity.
- Breaks through Xiantian Arrays by consuming them rather than brute-forcing or understanding them.
- Conceals objects from the prying eyes of the Heavenly Dao and other Saints.
- Houses Chaos Bead worlds and unintentionally swallowed beings 2 85 86.
- Absorbs large-scale attacks within the Chaos Bead by combining its world authority with the Law of Devouring 121.
Limitations:
- The space cannot be used offensively beyond swallowing; it requires Tianlu to physically engulf targets.
- The transformation of acquired to innate takes time inside the space (fermentation).
- Overuse may deplete his internal energy, especially when consuming large-scale arrays or entire mountain ranges.
Merit Power Generation
A unique ability discovered by Tianlu allows him to generate merit power simply by eating the fruits of top-grade Xiantian Spiritual Roots. Upon consuming such fruit, he can exhale and inhale a pure form of merit—distinct from the Heavenly Dao’s merit, being purer and not bound to Heavenly Dao recognition 2. This ability completely subverts the conventional cultivation system, where merit is normally obtained only by following Heavenly Dao trends, teaching all beings, or repairing heaven and earth. This power is so fundamental that it manifested as the Law of Merit on his Zenith Heaven Dao Fruit, alongside his other laws 4.
Tianlu later used the Law of Merit to cleanse the baleful qi generated while refining the Golden Dragon Shears 126. He also forcefully supplied Houtu with an immense quantity of merit, enabling her to break through into the Primordial Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal after her own attempt to absorb the law proceeded too slowly 132. His excessive reserves once leaked from his mouth and were condensed into a Golden Wheel of Merit behind his head, which became a conspicuous symbol of his wealth and status 51.
Applications:
- Produces merit power without performing great deeds or following Heavenly Dao decrees.
- Uses merit to assist cultivation breakthroughs and cleanse baleful qi from treasure refinement 126 132.
- Provides a steady merit supply as long as high-grade spiritual root fruits are available.
- Can be traded to mighty figures seeking cultivation advancement, as Houtu attempted to do with several thousand top-grade innate spiritual fruits 113.
- Can be condensed into a Golden Wheel of Merit that wards off evil and displays Tianlu's immense accumulation of merit 51.
Limitations:
- Requires regular access to top-grade Xiantian Spiritual Root fruits, which are rare even in the Primordial World.
- The merit generated is not Heavenly Dao merit, so it may not grant the same privileges (e.g., immunity from tribulations) that Heavenly Dao merit does.
- Overreliance could lead to depletion of spiritual root stocks if not managed sustainably.
Keen Perception of Treasures
An innate talent of the Pixiu clan grants Tianlu an extremely sharp sensitivity to spiritual objects and opportunities. He can sniff out the aura of places rich with treasures from great distances and, as an auspicious beast in charge of wealth and fortune, he immediately knows the location of valuable items once he catches their scent 7. This perception allowed him to detect the hidden blessed land on Mount Buzhou even though the Heavenly Dao had obscured its secrets 29. He also sensed the presence of the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus’s power within the Xiantian Array despite the array’s concealment 3. This ability is so acute that it often leads him directly to major treasures, but the Heavenly Dao sometimes actively disrupts it by causing chaotic spiritual energy fluctuations (such as from frequent divine lightning strikes) to hinder his detection 7.
Applications:
- Locates innate spiritual treasures, spiritual roots, and hidden blessed lands.
- Works even against divine concealment from the Heavenly Dao.
- Enables efficient treasure hunting across vast territories.
Limitations:
- The Heavenly Dao can interfere by scrambling the spiritual energy environment, reducing accuracy.
- Perception range and precision may decrease in areas with high interference or chaos energy.
- It only detects treasures; it does not provide information about traps or guardians.
Six Great Dao Laws
Upon breaking through to the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm, Tianlu condensed a Zenith Heaven Dao Fruit engraved with six Great Dao laws: Creation, Wealth, Luck, Merit, Space, and Devouring 4. These laws are the foundation of his many divine abilities. The Law of Creation was derived from his refinement of the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus; the Law of Wealth and the Law of Luck are innate companions to his origin as the first Pixiu; the Law of Merit originates from his innate ability to swallow and exhale merit; and the Laws of Space and Devouring are manifestations of the strange space within his belly. Together, they grant Tianlu mastery over multiple fundamental aspects of reality.
Applications:
- Law of Creation: Enables the reverse transformation of treasures, enhancement of spiritual roots, healing using Creation energy, and transformation into an Innate Dao Body. Was essential in refining the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus 4 121.
- Law of Wealth: Directly amplifies Tianlu’s ability to attract and control material prosperity; likely involved in his plundering and treasure-gathering success.
- Law of Luck: The source of his fortune manipulation and the authority to bestow or strip luck.
- Law of Merit: Underpins his merit generation from eating and his ability to exhale/inhale pure merit.
- Law of Space: Allows for teleportation, spatial dodging (as used against Purple Heaven Divine Lightning 5), breaking Xiantian Arrays (as done at West Kunlun 8), and opening spatial passages.
- Law of Devouring: Powers his consumption of matter, energy, and arrays; creates the belly space’s devouring property.
- Law of Destruction and Law of Time: Later mastered through cultivation with the Jade Plate of Creation Fragment, bringing his known Great Dao laws to eight 33 34.
Limitations:
- Most laws are still at the level of a mid-stage Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal, so they have upper limits—e.g., the Law of Creation cannot yet create supreme treasures from nothing.
- The Law of Luck at a large scale requires immense origin power (River of Fate alteration).
- The laws are interdependent; damage to the Dao Fruit could impair multiple abilities simultaneously.
Three Flowers Incarnation Method
Tianlu cultivates the Method of Severing the Three Flowers, a variation of Hongjun's Method of Severing the Three Corpses 85. By severing his Human Flower, he created a white-and-blue Pixiu incarnation that was born at the mid-stage Golden Immortal of the Origin 85. This avatar can cultivate Great Dao laws independently and continuously return its insights to Tianlu's main body, allowing Tianlu to advance while indulging in his usual sleeping and treasure-consuming habits 85 107.
Tianlu later severed his remaining two twelve-grade flowers, creating a scarlet Red Pixiu from the Heaven Flower and an azure Azure Pixiu from the Earth Flower. All three incarnations possess independent consciousness, can take form or remain Pixiu, and were ordered to alternate in cultivating Tianlu's Great Dao laws 119 143. Tianlu can also use their locations as points of contact for his disciples in danger 182.
Applications:
- Creates independent Pixiu incarnations from Tianlu's Three Flowers.
- Allows parallel cultivation and continuous feedback of law comprehension to the main body 85 107.
- Enables Tianlu to deploy an incarnation to assist allies, such as when he sent the White-Blue Pixiu to support Nuwa 132.
- Provides his disciples with multiple potential rescuers; Tianlu's Pixiu marks can guide them to whichever avatar is nearest 182.
Limitations:
- The incarnations possess individual temperaments and may misbehave, requiring Tianlu to recall and discipline them 132.
- Their cultivation and actions remain subject to Tianlu's supervision despite their autonomy.
Power Progression
From his first awakening within the primordial chaos to the apex of the Primordial World's golden age, Tianlu's progression defied every established norm of cultivation. He began as an anomalous being, a golden Pixiu who had already reached the peak of the Primordial Unity Golden Immortal realm without any conscious effort — his cultivation advanced primarily through sleeping, wandering, and consuming treasures 2. This initial stage, where he drifted into a Xiantian Great Array while asleep, already marked him as a being whose destiny was intertwined with the Great Dao rather than the restrictive Heavenly Dao. The conventional path required cultivators to master the Five Elements at the Primordial Unity stage; Tianlu had instead accumulated a bizarre internal space and an innate ability to manipulate fortune and merit, setting the stage for his unprecedented leap forward.
The breakthrough came when Tianlu refined the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus, a Xiantian Spiritual Treasure born from the seeds of the Thirty-Six Petal Chaos Green Lotus that had nurtured Pangu himself 3. Over a thousand years, he refined all thirty-six Xiantian Restrictions within the lotus — a feat that would have taken ordinary Primordial Unity Golden Immortals tens of thousands of years per restriction — and in doing so, absorbed the Creation Origin that flowed backward through his connection to the treasure 4. This triggered an enlightenment so profound that it shattered the Heavenly Dao's shackles. Where the Heavenly Dao allowed a maximum of nine petals for the Three Flowers atop a cultivator's head, Tianlu's flowers bloomed to twelve petals — the number of perfection. In that moment, he broke through to the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm, condensing a round, golden Zenith Heaven Dao Fruit that anchored his existence across past, present, and future; as long as the Dao Fruit endured, neither physical destruction nor spirit shattering could truly end him 4. Upon the Dao Fruit, six Great Dao laws were engraved: Creation (from the lotus), Wealth and Luck (innate to his Pixiu origin), Merit (from his innate divine ability to swallow and exhale merit), Space and Devouring (manifestations of his strange belly space) 4. This unprecedented hexad of laws at the initial Zenith Heaven stage was already beyond the comprehension of ordinary geniuses who might master a single law in a lifetime.
Tianlu's subsequent cultivation followed a pattern of relentless consumption and plunder. Soon after achieving Zenith Heaven, he encountered a wisp of Primordial Yin Qi protecting a Xiantian Array in the Kunlun Sacred Realm. Using his Law of Devouring, he consumed the array's runes over an extended period, realizing that the true essence of the Law of Devouring was not merely consuming tangible objects but devouring intangible laws and Daos, converting all power into fuel for growth 11 12. This insight was rewarded with a breakthrough to the mid-stage of the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm as the final rune was swallowed 12. Immediately afterward, he discovered the Huangzhong Plum tree — a Xiantian Spiritual Root that bloomed and fruited only once per three Yuanhui — and devoured all nine fruits without hesitation 12. Each fruit contained enough origin power to grant a mortal immediate Zenith Heaven status; Tianlu's consumption provided a vast boost to his magic power and Primordial Spirit, though he did not break through again until much later 12 15. This pattern of devouring spiritual roots and treasures continued: he pillaged Mount Buzhou for a century, accumulating mountains of resources, and later consumed the Four Elements Plantain Leaf Root and other opportunities 22 23. His belly space, under the influence of the Law of Creation, even began to reverse-refine ordinary herbs into Xiantian-grade spiritual roots 22. Meanwhile, his understanding of laws deepened. On Penglai Immortal Island, with a fragment of the Jade Plate of Creation, he entered closed-door cultivation and succeeded in mastering the two supreme Great Dao laws of Destruction and Time, in addition to perfecting the Space and Devouring laws he already possessed, bringing his total mastered laws to eight 33 34. He chose not to push his cultivation realm recklessly, instead focusing on foundational law comprehension, though he did break through to the late-stage of the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal around the time of Hongjun's attainment of sainthood 34.
His most audacious act came when the Xiantian Gourd Vine appeared on Mount Buzhou. In the presence of more than twenty Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals — including the Three Pure Ones, Di Jun, and Taiyi — Tianlu descended and swallowed the entire vine, roots and spiritual soil included, in a single gulp 49. The gathered powers attacked en masse, but Tianlu defended himself with the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus, and Purple Heaven Divine Lightning struck down those who dared assault him, a divine favor that further solidified his reputation 49. The Chaos Bead, however, had already fallen into his belly space while he slept at the peak Primordial Unity Golden Immortal stage; its later use and refinement therefore represent the development of an old acquisition rather than a new discovery 2.
Tianlu subsequently surpassed the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm. By cultivating the Method of Severing the Three Flowers, he created the Human Flower's white-and-blue Pixiu incarnation at the mid-stage Golden Immortal of the Origin, using the avatar's independent law cultivation to feed continuous insight back to his main body 85. Tianlu himself later reached the late stage of the Golden Immortal of the Origin and approached the Primordial Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal 107. The completed Three Flowers method accelerated this growth further: after refining the Golden Dragon Shears, the resonance of his eight laws carried him to the peak Golden Immortal of the Origin, only half a step from the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal of the Origin 127. He later advanced into the Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal realm, with his law-infused Pixiu marks carrying the power of a strike from that realm 182.
The following table summarizes the key milestones in Tianlu's cultivation journey.
| Realm | Breakthrough Trigger | Key Milestones |
|---|---|---|
| Peak Primordial Unity Golden Immortal | Innate growth and consumption of treasures; no formal cultivation. | Woke drifting into a Xiantian Array; possessed strange belly space, innate divine ability to alter fate and plunder merit; the Chaos Bead entered his belly space while he slept. 2 |
| Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal (initial) | Refined the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus (36 Xiantian Restrictions) in 1,000 years; absorbed Creation Origin. | Condensed twelve-petal Three Flowers (beyond Heavenly Dao's nine-petal limit); formed Zenith Heaven Dao Fruit with six laws: Creation, Wealth, Luck, Merit, Space, Devouring. 4 |
| Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal (mid-stage) | Devoured the entire Xiantian Array in Kunlun Sacred Realm, realizing the Law of Devouring's true essence. | Consumed all nine Huangzhong Plums (Xiantian Spiritual Root) for massive power boost; belly space began reversing acquired to innate grade. 12 15 |
| Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal (late-stage) | Cultivation during Penglai seclusion with Jade Plate of Creation fragment; also gained from pillaging Mount Buzhou and devouring spiritual roots. | Mastered Destruction and Time laws in addition to perfecting Space and Devouring; total eight great laws; accumulated vast merit and resources. 22 33 34 |
| Golden Immortal of the Origin | Continued cultivation after the Zenith Heaven stage, supplemented by treasures, merit, and the Chaos Bead's opportunities. | Severed the Human Flower to create the White-Blue Pixiu incarnation, which began at the mid-stage Golden Immortal of the Origin. 85 |
| Golden Immortal of the Origin (late-stage) | Parallel cultivation through the Human Flower incarnation and Tianlu's own accumulated foundation. | Approached the Primordial Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal while the avatar continuously fed Great Dao-law insights back to the main body. 107 |
| Golden Immortal of the Origin (peak) | The Eight Great Dao Laws resonated following the eighty-one-day refinement of the Golden Dragon Shears. | Stood half a step from the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal of the Origin; credited the Three Flowers incarnation technique for the rapid advance. 127 |
| Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal | Subsequent advancement through the completed Three Flowers method, accumulated law comprehension, merit, and opportunities. | Bestows Pixiu marks containing the force of a Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal strike and can direct disciples to seek assistance from any of his three avatars. 182 |
Tianlu's path was one of constant consumption and spontaneous comprehension. He rarely engaged in traditional closed-door cultivation or life-and-death battles; instead, his growth was driven by an insatiable hunger for treasures, spiritual roots, and the laws themselves. His ability to absorb and integrate opportunities that were destined for others — from the Creation Green Lotus (meant to become three Sage treasures) to the Huangzhong Plum and the Xiantian Gourd Vine — marked him as a scourge to the Heavenly Dao's plans and a favorite of the Great Dao. His later use of the Three Flowers method added an unprecedented form of parallel cultivation to this path, allowing his incarnations to cultivate while Tianlu himself continued to eat, sleep, and pursue profit 85 107 119. His progression stands as a testament to the power of devouring all things — tangible, intangible, destiny, and law — and converting them into fuel for an ever-expanding Dao.
Plot
First Major Arc: Kunlun Mountain and the Discovery of the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus
Tianlu, a transmigrated Pixiu, had spent nearly one hundred thousand years on Kunlun Immortal Mountain without finding any significant opportunities despite his innate divine abilities to control fortune and destiny 1. While wandering, he stumbled upon a Xiantian Array that led to a hidden creation space containing a pool of Three Lights Divine Water (gold, silver, purple) and a Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus floating above it 3. Recognizing the lotus as a supreme treasure—originally destined to become the Dao-completion dharma treasures of the Three Pure Ones—Tianlu decided to take it, defying its fixed fate 3 8. He spent a thousand years refining the lotus, absorbing its Creation Origin, and broke through to the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm, condensing twelve-petal Three Flowers and a Dao Fruit containing six Great Dao laws: Creation, Wealth, Luck, Merit, Space, and Devouring 4. The Three Pure Ones sensed the loss of their destined opportunity, causing their Dao auras to fluctuate 4. Meanwhile, the Heavenly Dao issued a decree to Hongjun, instructing him to retrieve the Creation Green Lotus from the Pixiu 8.Second Major Arc: Plundering West Kunlun and Encountering Yang Hui
After his breakthrough, Tianlu turned his attention to West Kunlun, the future dojo of the Queen Mother of the West 7. Despite the Xiantian array and Purple Heaven Divine Lightning, he broke through using the Law of Space and entered the Kunlun Sacred Realm, a Self-Formed Divine Hall 8. Riding his Cloud Treasure, he explored the realm over centuries, plundering low-grade spiritual roots and treasures, but grew frustrated at the lack of major finds 10 15. He encountered Lu Wu, a Kaiming Beast, who led him to some high-grade spiritual roots, though none satisfied him 10. Eventually, Tianlu discovered the Huangzhong Plum and swallowed it, then met Yang Hui, the spirit of the Kunlun Sacred Realm 15. He forced her to hand over a wisp of her Primordial Spirit, thus controlling her life and death, and questioned her about other great opportunities in the sacred realm 17. Then, deciding to leave Kunlun, Tianlu departed for Mount Buzhou 17.Third Major Arc: Encounter with Hongjun and Journey to Mount Buzhou
As Tianlu left Kunlun, tribulation clouds suddenly dissipated, and Hongjun stopped him using the phrase "please stay your step" 18. Tianlu, alarmed by the ominous implication, fled but collided with Hongjun. After learning Hongjun's identity as the future Dao Ancestor, Tianlu addressed him respectfully 18. Hongjun explained that the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus had a fixed destiny and that taking it would lead to karmic entanglements; he urged Tianlu to hand it over 18. Tianlu, however, did not comply and continued his journey only to gain a greater understanding of the Heavenly Dao's intentions. Upon reaching Mount Buzhou—the spine of Pangu—Tianlu felt the pressure of Pangu's will and over ten thousand years found only low-grade innate spiritual roots and treasures, growing suspicious that the Heavenly Dao was suppressing opportunities 21. Frustrated by the Heavenly Dao's secrecy, he decided to take everything valuable on the mountain, pillaging Mount Buzhou for over a century and leaving it barren 22. During this rampage, he injured a Primordial Unity Golden Immortal with a single tail flick 22. News of his actions reached Fengqi Mountain, where two powerful cultivators—Nuwa and Fuxi—took interest and decided to meet him 22.Fourth Major Arc: Friendship with Nuwa and Fuxi, and the Dao Discussion
Tianlu continued his pillaging on Mount Buzhou, discovering an innate formation protecting a supreme spiritual root—the Four Elements Plantain Leaf Root—and scaring away Primordial Unity Golden Immortals who attempted to claim it 23. Soon after, he was invited by Nuwa and Fuxi to Fengqi Mountain for a Dao discussion 25. During the discussion, Tianlu revealed his profound understanding of creation from the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus, while Nuwa focused on the Law of Creation and Fuxi on the Dao of Karma 25. Tianlu also explained that the Great Dao had retreated, and the Heavenly Dao's Rules now suppressed further advancement 26. Nuwa and Fuxi, blocked in their cultivation, expressed interest in traveling with Tianlu to Mount Buzhou to seek opportunities 26. Tianlu agreed, hoping their high luck would help him break through the Heavenly Dao's shroud 27. Together, the three journeyed across Mount Buzhou, but found no significant treasures despite their efforts 27. Tianlu suspected the Heavenly Dao was actively suppressing opportunities to target him 27.Fifth Major Arc: Confrontation with the Heavenly Dao and Relocation to the East Sea
At Nuwa's suggestion to leave Mount Buzhou for the East Sea, Tianlu refused 28. Instead, he revealed his true form—a million-foot-tall Pixiu—and began devouring the mountains and spiritual energy of Mount Buzhou 28. The displeased Heavenly Dao sent a fortuitous encounter to lure him away, causing Tianlu to stop his destruction and follow the guidance 28. Continuing their search, Tianlu, Nuwa, and Fuxi discovered two hidden treasures in a blessed land: the Treasure-Dropping Golden Coin and the Five-Colored Stone 29. The Heavenly Dao had manipulated events to give these treasures to Tianlu to encourage his departure 30. Tianlu took the Golden Coin, while Nuwa and Fuxi took the Five-Colored Stone, which suited their Great Dao 30. After an eon of time, Nuwa and Fuxi decided to return to Fengqi Mountain for seclusion, while Tianlu headed to the East Sea to find a cultivation ground 30.Sixth Major Arc: East Sea Events and Rising Reputation
In the East Sea, Tianlu established himself and later attended a sermon where the Duke of the East, infatuated with Yang Hui (who was now caring for Tianlu), approached her 39. Angered by the Duke's disrespect, Tianlu attacked and injured him, demonstrating his late-stage Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal cultivation 39. The Duke of the East apologized but harbored resentment, unknowingly incurring the wrath of the Great Dao 39. Di Jun and Taiyi noticed Tianlu's strength and decided to recruit him after the sermon, while the Twelve Ancestral Witches also recognized his power as a potential threat or ally 39.Seventh Major Arc: Chaos Immortal Island and the Three Clouds
Tianlu acquired the authority of Fangzhang Island by refining its Xiantian stone stele, then merged Penglai, Yingzhou, and Fangzhang into a single vast East Sea dojo protected by the Heaven Earth and Man Tri-Talent Array 69. The island merger created a century-long celestial phenomenon that attracted the Three Pure Ones, Di Jun, Taiyi, and other innate divine beings, but Tianlu asserted ownership and forced them to withdraw after Purple Heaven Divine Lightning struck a challenger 70. Later, Tianlu cultivated the Method of Severing the Three Flowers and created a white-and-blue Human Flower Pixiu incarnation 85. He also discovered that he had accidentally swallowed Yunxiao, Bixiao, and Qiongxiao; after offering to send them to Kunlun or retain them as attendants, he accepted their request to become his disciples 86.Eighth Major Arc: Control of Racial Fortune
Tianlu directly obstructed the Witch and Demon Races from gathering their Laws of Fortune, preventing their racial fortune from condensing into Rivers of Destiny 59. He demonstrated the River of Fate to Nuwa and Yang Hui, revealing the karmic retribution accumulated beneath the destinies of the races 61. His leverage forced Di Jun and Taiyi to bring vast offerings from the Fusang Tree, Laurel Tree, and Zhou Tian Star Tree merely to negotiate the Demon Race's establishment 87. Tianlu ultimately demanded half of the Demon Race's Law of Fortune, a condition Di Jun reluctantly accepted 94.Ninth Major Arc: The Chaos Bead's Myriad Worlds and Complete Three Flowers
Tianlu transformed the Chaos Bead into a self-contained realm of myriad worlds, drawing divine consciousnesses from the Primordial World's races into virtual identities and sustaining its operation through extracted luck 116. He later severed his Heaven Flower and Earth Flower, producing the scarlet Red Pixiu and azure Azure Pixiu to join the White-Blue Pixiu in parallel cultivation 119. Within the Chaos Bead, Tianlu adopted an androgynous Innate Dao Body disguise to seize a strand of Grandmist Purple Qi and used the Law of Devouring with the bead's authority to swallow a joint attack by more than a thousand Quasi-Sages 121.Tenth Major Arc: Golden Dragon Shears and Aid to Houtu
Learning that Zhao Gongming was being hunted by an Innate Yin-Yang Flood Dragon, Tianlu decided to use the dragon as material for a future treasure for the Three Clouds 124. He effortlessly subdued the Flood Dragon, rescued Zhao Gongming, and refined the creature in the Creation Cauldron into the Golden Dragon Shears with supplementary Demon Race treasures 125 126. He used the Law of Merit to cleanse the weapon's baleful qi 126. The successful refinement caused his eight laws to resonate, advancing Tianlu to the peak Golden Immortal of the Origin 127. Later, Houtu sought Tianlu's merit authority; after she struggled to absorb enough merit to advance, Tianlu forcefully supplied her with an immense amount, helping her reach the Primordial Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal 132.Eleventh Major Arc: Numinous Treasure Transformation Pills
Tianlu began deducing pills capable of granting Xiantian Spiritual Treasures intelligence and humanoid forms, a development that could change the Primordial World's balance of power 150. His experiments proved successful: Nuwa's Red Embroidered Ball, Tianlu's Cloud Treasure, Bixiao's Golden Dragon Shears, and Qiongxiao's White Lotus of World Purification all gained sentience and transformed 171. Tianlu learned that a Numinous Treasure was most obedient when he personally witnessed its first transformation; his Creation Cauldron, which transformed without him present, instead became rebellious and sought to form a Numinous Treasure Clan 158 171 189.Twelfth Major Arc: Later Hunyuan Daluo Era
Tianlu eventually reached the Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal realm and allowed the Three Clouds to leave Chaos Immortal Island to travel the Primordial World. Before their departure, he bestowed concealed Pixiu marks containing a Hunyuan Daluo strike and the means to contact any of his Three Flowers incarnations 182. In the later era, he assumes an Innate Dao Body while accompanying Changxi and Xihe, though he otherwise continues to favor his true Pixiu form 193.

Background
The Primordial World is a vast and ancient realm that has endured numerous cyclical cataclysms, including the Tribulation of Ferocious Beasts, the Dragon-Han First Tribulation, and the War of Dao and Devil 1. Following the War of Dao and Devil, which culminated in the duel between Dao Ancestor Hongjun and Devil Ancestor Luo Hou at Mount Sumeru, the world entered a period of recuperation; the Western lands were left barren by the detonation of spiritual veins, while the Eastern lands—particularly the core ancestral mountain Kunlun—remained rich in spiritual energy 1. It is within this recovering but still perilous environment that Tianlu, a transmigrator from a later age, finds himself reborn as the very first Pixiu, an auspicious beast of heaven and earth 1. For nearly one hundred thousand years, Tianlu has wandered the boundless Kunlun Immortal Mountain, yet despite his innate nature as a beast of fortune, he has failed to discover any opportunity, spiritual treasure, or innate spiritual root within the mountain's confines 1. This prolonged drought of fortune stands in stark contrast to the potent innate divine abilities he possesses: the power to transform acquired treasures into innate ones, to control the fortune of the world and bestow blessings, and to swallow any dharma treasure or spiritual root into his belly for qualitative enhancement 1 9. His unique physiology—a large belly with a mouth but no anus—houses a strange internal world formed by the intertwining of the Law of Space and the Law of Devouring, which can isolate all heavenly detection and even reverse acquired items to innate status over time 3 9. Tianlu's cultivation has progressed with seeming effortlessness; without engaging in closed-door cultivation or life-or-death battles, he has reached the peak of the Primordial Unity Golden Immortal realm and later breaks through to the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal realm, condensing a twelve-petal Three Flowers and a Zenith Heaven Dao Fruit encompassing six Great Dao laws: Creation, Wealth, Luck, Merit, Space, and Devouring 2 4. He also possesses a conceptual, causality-level protective ability that brings misfortune to those who threaten him, a power that operates regardless of cultivation level and has repeatedly saved him from harm 1 2. This collection of heaven-defying abilities leads Tianlu to suspect he might be the Child of the Great Dao, a favored being second only to Pangu, and indeed the Heavenly Dao finds itself unable to directly harm him because such an act would defy the will of the superior Great Dao 2 5 6. Tianlu's first major breakthrough comes when he discovers a hidden realm on Kunlun Mountain protected by a Xiantian Array, within which he finds the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus—a supreme treasure formed from a seed of the Thirty-Six Petal Chaos Green Lotus that once nurtured Pangu, containing the fundamental Great Dao of Creation 3. His seizure of this lotus defies its destined fate and draws the immediate hostility of the Heavenly Dao, which sends Purple Heaven Divine Lightning against him, only for the lightning to veer away harmlessly due to Tianlu's status as a darling of the Great Dao 5 6. His insatiable greed and immense power soon become legendary: he plunders the Kunlun Sacred Realm, easily subdues the Kaiming Beast Lu Wu—a mid-stage Primordial Unity Golden Immortal—and proceeds to ravage the mountains of Mount Buzhou, devouring spiritual roots, mineral ores, and topsoil with such thoroughness that wherever he passes becomes barren and desolate 9 22. His rampage attracts the attention of Nuwa and Fuxi on Fengqi Mountain, who decide to meet the Pixiu causing such a stir, and it also prompts the Heavenly Dao to offer him a fortuitous opportunity to lure him away from further destruction 22 28.
In the later Primordial era, Tianlu establishes Chaos Immortal Island by merging the three overseas islands of Penglai, Yingzhou, and Fangzhang 69. His authority over worldly fortune grows to the point that the future of the Witch and Demon Races depends upon his consent to gather their Laws of Fortune 59 87 94. Hongjun publicly recognizes him as a Pet of the Great Dao protected by the Heavenly Dao, explaining why even the Three Pure Ones and the Golden Crow brothers avoid directly contesting Tianlu's possessions 70 82. Tianlu's advancement through the Three Flowers method also allows him to create three autonomous Pixiu incarnations, making his cultivation increasingly independent of conventional seclusion 85 107 119. His later attainment of the Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal realm allows him to protect disciples with marks carrying the force of his own strike 182.
- The Primordial World underwent three major cataclysms before the story begins: the Tribulation of Ferocious Beasts, the Dragon-Han First Tribulation, and the War of Dao and Devil, the last of which resulted in the death of Devil Ancestor Luo Hou and set the stage for Dao Ancestor Hongjun's impending sainthood 1.
- Tianlu is a transmigrator from a later age who has been reborn on Kunlun Immortal Mountain for nearly one hundred thousand years as the first Pixiu, an auspicious beast with the head of a dragon, body of a lion, claws of a tiger, and antlers of a deer 1.
- Despite his inherited memories claiming his fortune and opportunities should far exceed all other beings, Tianlu spent tens of thousands of years wandering Kunlun Mountain without finding a single innate spiritual root or innate spiritual treasure 1.
- Tianlu possesses three innate divine abilities: transforming acquired dharma treasures into innate spiritual treasures by exhaling acquired treasures and reversing their nature; swallowing any treasure, spiritual root, or even Xiantian Arrays into his belly space where they undergo qualitative reversal from acquired to innate; and controlling the fortune of the world with the authority to bestow blessings and prosperity, with the demonstrated power to strip destiny from beings and cause them immediate misfortune and death 1 2 9 11.
- His belly contains a unique internal world formed by the Law of Space and the Law of Devouring that can isolate all heavenly detection, allowing him to carry anything in the Primordial World without the Heavenly Dao knowing. The Chaos Bead entered this space while Tianlu slept at the peak Primordial Unity Golden Immortal stage 2 3.
- Tianlu's cultivation progressed rapidly and effortlessly, reaching the peak of Primordial Unity Golden Immortal after nearly one hundred thousand years and then breaking through to Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal after refining the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus, condensing six Great Dao laws simultaneously 2 4.
- He possesses a causality-level protective ability that causes misfortune to anyone who threatens him, operating regardless of cultivation realm and directly targeting karma itself, which has protected him from attacks by powerful beings 1 2.
- His repeated displays of heaven-defying abilities—including ignoring the rules of creation, breaking the balance of heaven and earth, and being unable to be harmed by the Heavenly Dao's divine lightning—lead him and others (including Hongjun) to conclude he is likely the Child of the Great Dao, a second-generation favorite of the Great Dao itself 2 5 6 19.
- Tianlu discovers the Twenty-Four Petal Creation Green Lotus floating above a pool of Three Lights Divine Water within a hidden realm on Kunlun Mountain; the lotus is a supreme treasure formed from a seed of the Thirty-Six Petal Chaos Green Lotus that once nurtured Pangu, containing the most fundamental Great Dao of Creation and destined to later split into the Three Pure Ones' spiritual treasures 3.
- After seizing the Creation Green Lotus, the Heavenly Dao repeatedly attempts and fails to destroy him with Purple Heaven Divine Lightning and World-Destroying Divine Lightning, as the lightning veers away from Tianlu due to his status as a darling of the Great Dao 5 6.
- Tianlu's greed is insatiable and indiscriminate: he swallows spiritual fruits along with surrounding innate spiritual energy, strips topsoil containing spiritual energy, and in a single century of pillaging Mount Buzhou leaves the once-verdant mountain range "barren and desolate," earning him a reputation as "the Primordial World's greatest locust" and a "peerless, ferocious beast that had escaped from the chaos" 9 22.
- His actions on Mount Buzhou attract the attention of Nuwa and Fuxi on Fengqi Mountain, who decide to meet him after hearing he severely injured a Primordial Unity Golden Immortal with a single flick of his tail 22.
- Tianlu later merges Penglai, Yingzhou, and Fangzhang Islands into Chaos Immortal Island, creating an East Sea dojo protected by the Heaven Earth and Man Tri-Talent Array 69.
- He becomes the decisive authority over the formation of the Demon and Witch Races' Rivers of Destiny, forcing Di Jun and Taiyi to compensate him heavily and accept a fifty-fifty division of the Demon Race's Law of Fortune 59 87 94.
- Tianlu uses the Method of Severing the Three Flowers to create the white-and-blue Human Flower Pixiu, whose independent cultivation continuously feeds Great Dao-law insights back to Tianlu 85 107.
- He later completes the Three Flowers method by creating the Red Pixiu and Azure Pixiu incarnations from his Heaven and Earth Flowers, respectively 119.
- Tianlu refines Transformation Pills capable of granting Numinous Treasures sentience and humanoid forms, creating the conditions for the rise of the Numinous Treasure Clan 150 171 189.
- By the later era, Tianlu has reached Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortal strength, travels with Yang Hui, Changxi, and later Xihe, and is broadly feared as an invincible Great Dao-favored powerhouse 113 182 193.
