Overview
The Primordial World was created when Pangu split the Chaos with the Heaven-Opening Divine Axe, establishing earth, water, fire, and wind. It is administered by the Heavenly Dao, exists beneath the greater authority of the Great Dao, and has subsequently seen the emergence of the Human Dao. 1 68 116
Its history is shaped by successive calamities, struggles for hegemony, and the rise of innate divine beings. Spiritual energy is unevenly distributed: the Eastern Lands are rich and flourishing, while the Western Lands remain barren after Luo Hou detonated their spiritual veins. 1
Although the world once followed a relatively fixed greater trend under the Heavenly Dao, Tianlu's interventions, the emergence of Great Dao-recognized sovereigns, and the creation of the Chaos Bead's second heaven and earth have substantially altered that trajectory. The world's growing population and the consumption of its finite origin spiritual energy have also raised the prospect of an End of Dharma Age. 101 148 201 203
History
Early cataclysms
The world endured the Tribulation of Ferocious Beasts, when Beast Emperor Shen Ni led ferocious beasts born from the resentment of Chaos Demon Gods against the myriad races. Shen Ni and his forces were ultimately slain by the great powers. 1
The Dragon-Han First Tribulation followed, as the Ancestral Dragon, Yuan Feng, and the Primordial Qilin fought for supremacy. Their conflict devastated the world; the three clans retreated under heavy karmic debt. 1
During the War of Dao and Devil, Hongjun defeated Luo Hou at Mount Sumeru after the Immortal-Slaying Sword Formation was broken. Luo Hou's destruction of the Western spiritual veins left the West impoverished, while the world entered a period of recovery. 1
Era of innate divinities
Following the Dao-Devil War, numerous innate sacred beings emerged across the world, including the Three Pure Ones of Kunlun, Di Jun and Taiyi of the Sun Star, Nuwa and Fuxi, and the Twelve Ancestral Witches. 33
Hongjun's Purple Heaven Palace became a focal point for the world's great powers. His lectures and the sacred seats within the palace influenced the future paths of several innate divinities. 36 41
Rise of the Witch and Demon Races
Di Jun and Taiyi established the Demon Race and Heavenly Court, claiming to protect and govern the myriad races. The Heavenly Dao answered their declaration with merit and fortune, greatly increasing the power of the Demon Race's leaders. 58 90
The Twelve Ancestral Witches established the Witch Race in response, creating a rival power centered on Pangu's legacy. The two races later entered open war near Mount Buzhou. 58 99 103
During their major confrontation, the Demon Race deployed the Primordial River-Luo Formation and the Celestial Star Formation, projecting the power of the Sun Star, Lunar Star, and the multitude of celestial stars across the battlefield. The Witch Race answered with the Twelve Capital Heavenly Gods Baleful Formation, summoning Pangu's phantom through the combined baleful qi and power of the Twelve Ancestral Witches. 165 166
After later clashes and an unsuccessful attempt by Di Jun to pressure Mount Buzhou, the Demon Race withdrew into the starry sky rather than risk a decisive war against the Witch Race. The Witch Race subsequently became the dominant power on the Primordial lands and continued to hunt the myriad races for flesh and blood. 204 205 207
Emergence of the Human Dao
Nuwa traveled throughout the Primordial World, saving threatened clans and teaching the Dao of Creation. The races she aided revered her as the Wa Sovereign and Empress of Creation. 114
At the East Sea Coast, Nuwa created the Human Race from Nine Heavens Breathing Soil, Three Lights Divine Water, and her heart's blood. The will of all spirits condensed into the Human Dao, crowning her as its representative. 116 117
Nuwa's creation of the Human Race drew immense Great Dao Merit, which elevated her to the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal of the Origin and strengthened the Human Dao's connection to all living beings. The Human Race later intermarried with the Witch Race at the margins of the world, producing Human-Witches with both primordial-spirit aptitude and powerful physical bodies. 117 207
Great Dao sovereigns and divine positions
Houtu attained the Dao and was enfeoffed as the Houtu Imperial Earth Deity, a Great Dao-recognized sovereign who commands the earth veins and soil of the Primordial World. Her status surpassed the Heavenly Dao's authority in this respect and made her an irreplaceable pillar of the world's order. 134 135
Yang Hui and Changxi later proved the Dao with merit, becoming the Nine-Spirit Grand Wonder Golden Mother Primordial Sovereign and the Lunar Sovereign respectively. Their attainments produced realm-wide heavenly phenomena and bestowed fortune and prosperity upon the world's living beings. 142
The rise of Nuwa, Houtu, Yang Hui, Changxi, Tianlu, and other beings recognized by the Great Dao progressively weakened the Heavenly Dao's ability to impose its former arrangements upon the Primordial World. 142 148
Rise of the Numinous Treasure Clan
Creation, Chaos, and Flame used transformation pills to grant sentience and human forms to Xiantian Spiritual Treasures. They gathered tens of thousands of awakened treasures and established the Numinous Treasure Clan, proclaiming its intent to liberate Numinous Treasures from their cultivator owners and reclaim them throughout the Primordial World. 175 187
The Great Dao acknowledged the Numinous Treasure Clan's establishment by bestowing fortune upon it. Its rise disrupted the balance among the established factions, as its members seized treasures and subjugated clans across the Eastern Lands. 187 190
Renewed tribulation and the Ferocious Beasts' return
As living beings multiplied and consumed increasingly vast amounts of spiritual energy and cultivation resources, the Heavenly Dao concluded that the Primordial World's finite origin would eventually be exhausted. It sought to begin a new tribulation so that the origins held by slain beings would return to heaven and earth. 148 201 203
After the Witch-Demon conflict failed to develop into the desired realm-wide calamity, Hongjun planted the God-Slaying Spear within the Ferocious Beast Mountains of the North Underworld, disturbing the dormant resentment of the Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods. 204
Shen Ni subsequently awakened and used that resentment to revive the Ferocious Beast Clan. Countless ferocious beasts condensed from baleful qi and resentment, while Houtu—moved by the wronged souls left without a destination after death—began to seek a means of completing the world's order of life and death. 207

World Order
Heavenly Dao
The Heavenly Dao is the world’s governing order. It administers tribulations, responds to major declarations, conceals opportunities, and seeks to preserve the world’s established development. 5 28 90
It can employ Purple Heaven Divine Lightning to punish anomalies or those who act against its will. However, it is unable to effectively punish Tianlu due to his protection as a Child of the Great Dao. 5 28 68
Since the Great Dao retreated into Chaos after the Dao-Devil War, the Heavenly Dao has obscured the Great Dao laws, making it extremely difficult for ordinary Primordial World beings to advance beyond the Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal level by comprehending their origins. 71
The Heavenly Dao also oversees the cycle by which living beings absorb the world's spiritual energy during life and return their origins to heaven and earth after death. Fearing that unchecked cultivation and population growth will exhaust this finite foundation, it has sought to initiate tribulations to reclaim origin spiritual energy through mass death. 148 201 203
Its control has weakened substantially as Great Dao-recognized powers have emerged and escaped its intended arrangements. The Heavenly Dao nevertheless continues to seek a realm-wide tribulation, including through Hongjun's disturbance of the Ferocious Beast Mountains. 148 204
Great Dao
The Great Dao stands above the Primordial World and its Heavenly Dao. It recognizes Tianlu as a second-generation Child of the Great Dao and grants him protection that renders Primordial World karma ineffective against him. 19 68
The Great Dao also answers proclamations with merit, including Tianlu's opening of the Chaos Bead's myriad worlds. 117
It has directly recognized several sovereign powers and divine positions within the Primordial World, including Nuwa as representative of the Human Dao, Houtu as the Houtu Imperial Earth Deity, Yang Hui as the Nine-Spirit Grand Wonder Golden Mother Primordial Sovereign, and Changxi as the Lunar Sovereign. 116 134 142
Human Dao
The Human Dao emerged from the collective will of all spirits when Nuwa created the Human Race. Unlike the Heavenly Dao's impersonal rules, it embodies the will, lives, and shared fortune of the world's myriad living beings. 116
Nuwa serves as the Human Dao's representative and was crowned by all beings as their sovereign. The continued flourishing of the Human Dao strengthens the origin and overall foundation of the Primordial World. 116 148
Fortune and karma
Fortune is a fundamental force in the Primordial World. Those with abundant fortune encounter opportunities, avoid disaster, and progress more readily, while those deprived of it suffer continuous misfortune. 1
Spiritual treasures carry karmic consequences for ordinary beings. Tianlu is exempt from this karmic retribution because of the Great Dao's protection. 68
- Tianlu stripped the fortune of the world's Zenith Heaven Golden Immortals, preventing many from reaching Purple Heaven Palace. 36 37
- He interfered with the gathering fortune of the Witch and Demon Races, stopping it from condensing into Rivers of Destiny. 59
- The Heavenly Dao and Tianlu directly contested control over the luck generated by Hongjun's sermon. 43
- The Numinous Treasure Clan received Great Dao-bestowed fortune upon its establishment, affirming its status as a new force in the world. 187
Origin and resource cycle
The Primordial World was formed from Pangu's transformation and the flesh, blood, and origins of the Three Thousand Chaos Demon Gods. Its total origin and spiritual-energy reserves are therefore finite rather than endlessly self-generating. 203
Cultivators, spiritual roots, and the myriad races all draw upon this fixed foundation. Should consumption continue without sufficient return of origin to heaven and earth, the world may ultimately enter an End of Dharma Age in which spiritual energy and the laws themselves decline. 201 203
