Background

Di Jun and his brother Taiyi were gestated within the Sun Star. Upon taking form, the two Golden Crows resolved to create an immortal hegemony in the Primordial World; Di Jun possessed the River Map and Luo Scroll, as well as an ambition to rule the world. 31

He sought Nuwa and Fuxi's support in founding a power capable of resisting the Witch Race. Fuxi ultimately accepted after Di Jun offered the River Map and Luo Scroll to assist his pursuit of the Great Dao. 51 56

Di Jun first proclaimed the Demon Race alongside Taiyi, claiming all furred, horned, egg-born, moisture-born, plant, beast, and star spirits as demons. After Tianlu blocked the race's Law of Fortune, he was compelled to accept a revised oath limiting membership to those who joined voluntarily. The revised founding succeeded, establishing the Heavenly Court and granting Di Jun the title of Heavenly Emperor. 58 88 90

Personality

Di Jun is intensely ambitious and views a unified Demon Race as the means to secure hegemony, resist the Witch Race, and impose order upon the Primordial World. He presents his campaigns as a defense of weaker races against Witch oppression. 51 104 163

Unlike the impulsive Taiyi, Di Jun is willing to endure humiliation, negotiate, and retreat when the alternative threatens the Demon Race's long-term position. He repeatedly tolerates Tianlu's demands because Tianlu controls the Demon Race's Law of Fortune, orders his forces to avoid Tianlu, and warns Taiyi against rushing into a possible Western Lands trap. 91 100 177

His pragmatism can become ruthless. He and Taiyi ambush Patriarch Red Cloud and force him to surrender his strand of Grandmist Purple Qi. 161
