Background / History
Jingyun Sect Disciple
Meng Tangtang entered Jingyun Sect as a menial disciple in the Supply Department. While her peers sensed qi and began cultivating, she remained an ordinary person because the extreme cold and extreme heat within her body constantly conflicted. Seeking a way to live, she went alone to the Library Pavilion in hopes of gaining the Grand Elder's attention. 2 3
Lin Cheng used his Eye of Truth to identify her constitution as a dual heaven of ice and fire, comparable to the Ice-Fire Dual Essence Body. Without a suitable method to balance these forces, the constitution was effectively fatal; its possessors could die when the conflicting energies erupted. Lin Cheng accepted her as his disciple and gave her the Ice-Fire Emperor Scripture, Lesser Restoration Pills, and a mid-grade spirit sword. 3
The scripture immediately brought her ice and fire energies into harmony. Her rapid breakthrough to Third Grade gave her both the means to survive and a reason to devote herself to Jingyun Sect. She swore that she would live and die as a member of the sect and work for its rise. 3
Young Sect Master of Jingyun
Old Lady Xu recognized Meng Tangtang's Innate Constitution and appointed her Jingyun Sect's Young Sect Master, intending to cultivate her as the sect's future pillar. Although the elders offered extensive resources, Meng Tangtang showed restraint and considered the sect's needs rather than accepting everything for herself. 9
She soon proved her resolve by challenging the Blood God Child despite the Blood-Oath Sect's mockery. Drawing on heaven and earth energy through her constitution, she severely injured him with one sword strike. When a Blood-Oath elder attempted to kill her afterward, the protective sword radiance Lin Cheng had left in her spirit sword annihilated the attacker. 5
As Jingyun Sect declined following Old Lady Xu's death, Meng Tangtang watched disciples abandon the sect and began treating her position as a genuine responsibility. She remained with the weakened sect rather than leaving with the more talented disciples. 44
Xiantian Breakthrough and Sect War
Meng Tangtang reached the Xiantian Realm after three years of cultivation. Her breakthrough gave Jingyun Sect a third Xiantian expert and greatly strengthened its position against the Three Mountains Alliance. 58 59
During the conflict, her inability to immediately protect injured sect members pushed her into an unstable, violent state. She killed an opponent with brutal force before Lin Cheng found her injured and emotionally drained; he cleaned her up and gently reprimanded her for neglecting herself. 63 64 65
Meng Family and the Ice-Fire Divine Body
After reincarnating into the Meng Family and eventually arriving in Jingyun Sect, Meng Tangtang's constitution evolved into the Ice-Fire Divine Body. This made her a target for the Bai Family, who regarded her future potential as a threat exceeding even that of the Meng Family ancestor. 805 844
Within the Meng Family, her status was outwardly prestigious but precarious. Aside from the ancestor and her Third Grandfather, many elders did not fully accept her and feared the divine body's influence. Meng Tangtang nevertheless fought to protect the family during the Bai and Cao Families' assault. 805 806
Lin Cheng reunited with her in the Verdant Ink Eternal Realm, saving her when her power was suppressed and silently supporting her decision to lead the Meng Family's counterattack. When Meng Quan attempted to seize the origin of her divine body, Lin Cheng defeated him and later arranged for Meng Tangtang to leave the family with him. 807 809 813 816
Journey Beyond the Verdant Ink Eternal Realm
After leaving the Verdant Ink Eternal Realm aboard Civilization City, Meng Tangtang spent more than a century training against Destroyers under Lin Cheng's observation. Her eventual victory over a same-level metal Destroyer qualified her to attempt the Transformation Realm. 844 848
Following her breakthrough, she confronted the Flame Cliff Family and fought Elder Jin, a Sovereign-level opponent. Civilization City awakened during the battle and transformed into the Civilization Sword, allowing her to reverse the pressure of the fight. 851 853
Appearance
Meng Tangtang was initially a petite, frail girl with short hair cut to her ears, flushed cheeks, and a cute appearance that concealed the pain caused by her constitution. After years of cultivation and reincarnation, she became a graceful, poised woman whose presence carried cold majesty. 2 801 851
- Her body once radiated clearly divided extremes of cold and heat when viewed through Lin Cheng's Eye of Truth. 3
- Ice and fire power commonly coil around her in combat. 800 851
- After her Transformation Realm breakthrough, she is described with waterfall-like black hair and an ethereal halo. 851
- Her battle aura can shift from restrained calmness to overwhelming aggression. 800
Personality
Meng Tangtang is resilient, loyal, and strongly driven by gratitude. Her childhood illness and early failure at cultivation did not make her resentful; instead, she endured the pain until Lin Cheng offered her a path forward. Her loyalty to Jingyun Sect stems from the belief that Lin Cheng's kindness gave her a second life. 3 5
As Young Sect Master, she became increasingly responsible and thoughtful about Jingyun Sect's survival. She can also be mischievous and assertive, challenging elders to spar, teasing her supposed junior brother, and using her stockpile of pills to gain leverage over the sect elders. 17 41 44
Her greatest weakness is her tendency to blame herself when she cannot protect those close to her. This pressure briefly drove her into a violent breakdown during the Three Mountains Alliance conflict. Over time, Lin Cheng's guidance helped her develop a stronger will and face overwhelming pressure without yielding. 63 810
Despite her decisiveness in battle, Meng Tangtang can show mercy and caution. She spared Elder Jin after defeating him and declined to pursue the Flame Cliff Family because she understood the danger of provoking an overwhelmingly powerful faction. 860
Abilities & Skills
