Background

Lin Cheng was an ordinary worker in his previous life before arriving in a cultivation world. Initially assigned as a cleaning servant at Jingyun Sect’s Library Pavilion, he wanted to cultivate but feared the dangers of the path and considered himself an unremarkable person without the opportunity to rise 1.

His circumstances changed when he awakened the Sign-in System in the Library Pavilion. Its first major reward, the perfect-grade Nine Transformations of the True Spirit, remade his body and granted the Eye of Truth-Breaking. He spent the following two years checking in every day, amassing pills, techniques, weapons, and other treasures in System Space before attaining the Xiantian Realm 2.

Lin Cheng remained hidden in the Library Pavilion while quietly shaping Jingyun Sect’s future. He accepted Meng Tangtang as his disciple, giving her the Ice-Fire Emperor Scripture, Lesser Restoration Pills, and a spirit sword to treat the dangers of her Ice-Fire Dual Essence Body 3. His identity as her master and as Jingyun Sect’s Foundation Establishment ancestor became public only after he intervened to save her from the Five Elements Sect 65.

Over time, Lin Cheng’s journey expanded beyond Jingyun Sect, from the Azure Firmament Realm and Lesser Immortal Realm to the Heavenly Realm, Civilization City, and the Primordial Realm. Lin Cheng begins as a cautious and self-preserving individual. He is acutely aware of the dangers of cultivation and prefers seclusion, preparation, and overwhelming certainty over gambling on luck. He considers luck an unreliable “multiple-choice question” and would rather eliminate the person setting the question than risk an uncertain answer 1 430.

Despite his caution, Lin Cheng can be impulsive, blunt, and casually ruthless when provoked. He often handles threats through direct force, captures enemies for use as “furnace workers,” and may incapacitate strangers simply to obtain information 331 440. His preferred combat style gradually shifts away from his youthful dream of elegant swordsmanship toward straightforward physical domination through fists and feet 306.
