Background / History
Tang San entered Nuoding Junior Spirit Master Academy as a work-study student. After a gatekeeper mistreated Old Jack, Tang San killed the man with three Silent Sleeve Arrows; Di Lintian's interference prevented Yu Xiaogang from stopping him. Despite the killing, he received no punishment. He subsequently accepted Yu Xiaogang as his teacher and refused the dean's offer of a private dormitory, choosing to remain with the work-study students. 11 12
Yu Xiaogang directed Tang San toward a control-and-toxin-oriented path for his Blue Silver Grass. A shortage of suitable soul beasts led Tang San to absorb a ten-year Solitary Bamboo as his first ring, producing the mobility skill Blue Silver Pole Vault instead of the anticipated defensive ability. 14
After joining Shrek Academy, Tang San repeatedly encountered Di Lintian and the Imperial Dou Team. He fought alongside the Shrek Seven Devils, but Di Lintian's side consistently overwhelmed them. 22 49 66
Tang San's Blue Silver Grass evolved into the Blue Silver Emperor following his third-ring absorption. Soon afterward, Xiao Wu disappeared, driving Tang San to search for her and suspect that she had been abducted. Tang Hao later revealed that both Xiao Wu and Tang San's mother, Ah Yin, were hundred-thousand-year soul beasts in human form. 37 42
Learning that Xiao Wu had been taken by the Sky Dragon Pavilion strengthened Tang San's resolve to rescue her and destroy the organization. Xiao Wu later returned to Shrek Academy, but she and Tang San were captured by Qian Daoliu amid the tournament's collapse, while Hua Zhenglong crippled Tang Hao. 44 46 69
Tang San, Tang Hao, and Xiao Wu were confined in the Sky Dragon Pavilion dungeon, where Tang San's Soul Power was sealed and prisoners tortured him. A mysterious energy invasion and dungeon explosion enabled Tang San and Tang Hao to escape, after which Sky Dragon Pavilion issued wanted orders for both father and son. 71 79 83 87 89
Following their escape, Tang Hao sent Tang San into Slaughter City to keep him beyond Sky Dragon Pavilion's reach. There, Tang San sensed Xiao Wu's death through a sudden pain in his heart, fought his way through the Outer City, and eventually encountered and awakened Tang Chen, his great-grandfather. 94 100 124 126
Personality
Tang San is protective toward people he considers close. He kills the Nuoding gatekeeper for mistreating Old Jack, worries intensely when Xiao Wu disappears, and supports Yu Xiaogang even during dangerous situations. 11 37 55 56
He is also proud, vengeful, and prone to mentally condemning those who humiliate him or harm his associates as having “a path to death.” He directs this hostility toward the person who beat Yu Xiaogang, Di Lintian, and the prisoners who torture him. 14 22 71
Despite his emotional reactions, Tang San can be resourceful in combat, adapting his bamboo-based skills for mobility, restraint, defense, and team support. 22 24 49
Tang San is deeply devoted to Tang Hao and Xiao Wu. Even after his escape from imprisonment, his fear of dying stems from his belief that he must survive to rescue Xiao Wu; he also refuses to abandon his crippled father despite the danger surrounding them. 83 86 87
His time in Slaughter City has made him increasingly ruthless. He kills hostile opponents with hidden weapons, humiliates a surviving enemy rather than granting mercy, and accumulates an oppressive amount of killing intent while clearing the Outer City. 100 101 124
Abilities & Skills
Blue Silver Emperor
Tang San's Blue Silver Grass evolved into the Blue Silver Emperor after his third spirit ring, marked by golden patterns and a faint fragrance. 37
- Its toughness is enhanced by his successive bamboo-type spirit rings. 14 22
- It can restrain stronger opponents and immobilize a thousand-year Phoenix-Tail Cockscomb Serpent. 22 24
- Its vitality supports a self-created healing technique that also restores a small amount of Soul Power. 49
- It can form nets capable of blocking a charging four-thousand-year Diamond Tiger. 54
- Tang San can connect his spiritual power through nearby Blue Silver Grass to sense the surrounding terrain and determine his direction. 85
First Soul Skill: Blue Silver Pole Vault
Tang San generates a tall stalk of Blue Silver Grass beneath himself, using its elasticity to launch forward. 14
- Originally requires roughly three seconds to cast before propelling him about ten meters. 14
- Can be used offensively to disrupt an opponent's footing. 24
- Can be combined with Blue Silver Stilts for near-instant activation. 22
Second Soul Skill: Blue Silver Stilts
Tang San creates sturdy Blue Silver Grass supports beneath his feet, elevating himself above the ground. 22
- Enabled him to evade Di Lintian's Dragon Scale Sword, though the maneuver left him stuck in a ceiling. 22
- The supports resisted repeated strikes from Meng Yiran's Snake Staff without transmitting noticeable impact to Tang San. 24
- Provides elevation and a platform for Blue Silver Pole Vault. 24
Third Soul Skill: Blue Silver Bamboo Thorn Formation
Tang San causes sharp, bamboo-bladed Blue Silver Grass to erupt from the ground. 37
- Its blades are sharp enough to cut Yu Xiaogang's finger. 37
- Can create dense terrain hazards and obscure Tang San's movements. 66
- Its thorns were ineffective against Demon Charm's rotating Moon Blades. 66
Fourth Soul Skill: Blue Silver Bamboo Cage
A single-target control skill acquired from a three-thousand-year Spirit Bamboo. 56
