Yu Xiaogang was formerly the young master of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Despite his clan background, he remained a 29th-level Soul Grand Master for decades and pursued renown through martial-soul research and teaching. 110 157

He had a past romantic relationship with Bibi Dong. According to Bibi Dong’s later revelations, Yu Xiaogang deliberately approached her and repeatedly gained access to Martial Soul Hall’s Central Library through her position as Saintess. He entered its fourth and fifth floors, then published material derived from its records as the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul. 147 153 158

Yu Xiaogang also deliberately developed a relationship with Liu Erlong after arranging an apparent chance encounter while already aware of her connection to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. His purpose was to study her mutated martial soul rather than pursue her sincerely. 238 240

At Notting Academy, Yu Xiaogang became Tang San’s teacher.
